Hi, just wanted to know if you have ever thought about becoming a certified teacher because its seems like you are a natural in the classrooms with the children?
Hello, I actually have thought about being a teacher, but my goal is to be a college/university advisor or counselor. Being a first gen student, I want to help students navigate and pursue their educational journey :)
@@jayxtea_ That's great! I too thought about being an academic advisor for college students but realized that most jobs also want you to have experience in the classroom as a certified teacher so I moved on and I'm now in my first semester of my MSW program in social work. Congratulations on your future journey!
I've worked in Alternative Education(3rd-12th grade) for 5 years and will start subbing Monday in my home district. I picked up my first assignment and it's a Kindergarten class and I'm freaking out now 😂 Any tips? Do you take your own "rewards" if they're good?
That's awesome! Im sorry for the late reply. I hope it all went well :) #1 tip, be patient because it's their first time at school and they are still learning. #2 Walk around and make sure that they are working, see if they have any questions or need help. #3 Have fun, Kinder is one of my favorites because they are silly and cute. Rewards: I like to praise students for following rules or working, that usually shows and helps the other students know what they are suppose to be doing. I also use stickers to reward students who were on their best behavior and following rules.
