I've been listening to this amazing artist for 20 years and I'm still shocked that she hasn't been picked up by a label, sad times for young people and exposure to great contemporary music

I met Gemma in Portland, Oregon in the early 2000s and was transfixed not only by her performance, which was charming and bewitching, but by how genuine and vulnerable she was. It was intoxicating. I’ve seen hundreds of performers since, but none impacted me like Gemma did that night. Been in love ever since. In a better world, everyone would know this amazing woman and her beautiful music.
i remember back in the day, i was on a taxi and looking to my facebook on my blackberry, with gemma hayes's songs played. just to found out and see photos of my ex wedding party. i cried heavily for the fist time with songs played on my ears, and the taxi driver silently gave me a kleenex tissue. it felt so heartbreaking but still what a moment, and it made me smile tiill this day :D
This is songwriting at its finest. Gemma Hayes once again - irritatingly - showing how good she is and yet, no major record label thinks she's good enough to have on their books??? This is a beautiful song, sung by a beautiful human who deserves to be known by a much larger audience.

Fantastique session, je me souviens de gemma hayes pour son titre "back of my hand" que j'écoutais en boucle à l'époque où il passait mais je ne connaissais pas trop le reste de son oeuvre et là je repasse en boucle cette session tellement c'est beau. D'ailleurs je trouve dommage que sur l'album cette chanson ait une texture vocale car sa voix au naturelle rend tellement mieux
