Thank you for these videos on Festool as they've impacted my decision to go that route. It might be more expensive, but it simplifies the accessory side so much. Great replacement for my DeWalt XR set, as they are 8 years old and I've already adopted the Festool 18V line for my track saw.
Glad to hear that the video was helpful and thanks for watching. They are superb tools and I have no real issues with them other than the impact seems a bit louder than some other brands. But honestly all impacts are loud and we should be using hearing protection when using them continuously. 👍🏻
Thanks for the sub! I could have sworn that had an impact driver before, but it was really old. Perhaps not though, I will take your word for it. It is a solid impact driver, definitely one of my favorites. 👍🏻
Hey so what happened to the Bosch set? I sold my Gen 3 Milwaukee combo because I hated it so much. I replaced them with the TID/TPC set and so far I've been quite happy with them. They are not as powerful as the Milwaukee but I don't care - they seem to get the job done and are a pleasure to use.
Great question and it is awesome to hear from someone else who has a TID/TPC set. So a little while ago I took and evaluation of my tools and the type of work I was doing and trying to get. I made a determination that Makita would probably be a better battery platform for me vs Bosch. It was simply a matter of the range of tools offered. So I decided to transition to Makita as a base platform with Festool supplementing with tools that fit certain niches well. I didn't really need the TID/TPC, except having a drill with multiple attachments can really be useful at times. The Bosch tools were great, I really like Bosch as a company and battery platform but I felt they just didn't have the range of tools that I would need. 👍🏻
@@garnerreviews That makes a lot of sense. I have been doing the same thing but with DeWalt being my "base" platform. I may have reconsidered Makita if I had known they were going to 40v. I tend to favor my DeWalt subcompact 12v tools so the TPC/TID probably won't get used a lot.
@@dfs7979 Dewalt makes some great tools as well. Definitely a solid brand to use as a base platform. Do you have any experience with the newer atomic tools and powerstack batteries?
@@garnerreviews The power stacks are really nice. They have a rubber coating now similar to the M18. I was really impressed with the size. I only used it on the new DCF850 and the cheap throw away atomic drill that comes in the Home Depot power stack combo so I can’t speak to the top end performance. I really have not been a fan of the Atomic line of tools. More of a wasted opportunity from DeWalt. Most are just stripped down versions of XR brushless tools that really aren’t much more compact. I do really like the new 12v xtreme line of subcompact tools… they really eliminate the need for atomic. Just step up to XR or the new TID/TPC as in my case when you need more power.
The Tpc is a awesome drill and very powerful. Batteries are big like you say keeping them upright. The technology that goes into them with the engineering makes them very quite with very little Mechanical noise. For better than most others for me.
You are right, the amount of tech and engineering that goes into these tools really shows. Very smooth, ergonomic, powerful and just a pleasure to use! 👍🏻🔥
Nice drill , had the PDC and the 3800 made a huge difference on smaller drills etc biggest difference is you can now share the accessories 90 deg and offset chuck with the other drills in the range.Makes things cheaper as the PDC only had a dedicated 90 chuck.
Not sure if anything Festool makes is cheap 😂. But I totally agree with you, having the TPC share the Fastfix accessories is great! This will be my first experience with a drill that has this much speed, but I can already tell that in the right situations I will be happy to have it!
You are correct, the Centotec chuck isn’t included with this kit. It is included when you purchase either the TPC 18/4 basic kit or set but you don’t get the impact driver. Thanks for watching. 👍🏻
One of the best overviews so far! Would love to see the control in driving fasteners, eg how low can you modulate the RPMs when driving screws into soft wood? I hear the Makita 40v impact driver has excellent trigger/speed control, so that's the comparison I'm hoping to come across.
Great minds think alike, I plan on demonstrating just that with my 40V Makita's. I can tell you that the little bit of use I have on both the Festool TID and TPC really impressed me. Stay tuned, I think I will have a comparison like that this week. 👍🏻

Festool had no impact before the TID 18. It’s their very first impact.
The best review so far on RUclips. And of course I subscribed. 😉

@@garnerreviews definitely one of the best impacts on the market. Not as fast as some other Brands but the ergonomics are great.

You just bought top if the line machines. The best one can get.👍
Thanks. Definitely great tools. Really impressed with the Makita and Festool. Really like the performance and ergonomics. 👍🏻
My only beef and you did not mention it it does not come with the Centrotec Chuck. What the heck?

Where are those drills made?
These two particular tools are made in the Czech Republic. 👍🏻
