Castello di Gabbiano - Chianti Classico, Tuscany

In this video, we visit the 12th-century Castello di Gabbiano high on a Tuscan hillside amid the ancient wine region of Chianti Classico. It’s a dream destination for any wine lover, made possible by Director General Ivano Reali who took over the estate management in 2010, converting it into a destination hotel while further up the hill an old farmhouse has been transformed into Il Cavaliere a fine-dining restaurant. The wine has received equal attention, with the arrival of winemaker and Florence native, Federico Cerelli to oversee a myriad of improvements in the vineyards, the winery and most of the Gabbiano winemaking practices. Castello di Gabbiano stands as an example of the Italian way of observing tradition, terroir, history and culture while embracing just enough change to keep current in the in the ever-evolving global wine market.
