Great video and excited about the hardware. I've debated going the shotgun + wireless route but always been held back by wondering where in the chain to power. Thanks for the review and tips!
why rode ntg5 to xvive p1 phantom power to xlr to 3.5mm plug in camera (sony a7iii) has electric current voice, i can't solve it , do you have any good idea ? thank you !
Hey, so looking to buy this, but how does the boom op monitor how his audio sounds as there is no output on the rode, would it be easier to have the boom go into the 60D MKII hung round the boom op’s neck and then a wireless go II out to the sound monitor/direct cam input? Any advice please 🤩
The sound quality of the shotgun microphone is wayyyy better but only for specific uses. For films you would opt for a shotgun microphone if budget allows.
I was think in make DIY because no any brand made one. and now this appears to my feed. and price is good. I can improve it. I am in midle of this thing if i cant get it or need to pass to next project for sure i buy this thing or v2.
I would say 95% of the stuff you show on here would be totally useless to me if I am honest but I still watch and enjoy your content Chris.. hope ya well fella - whatever happened to your drunken stupor nights with musings? 🤣
Haha I am sure one day I will find something that is useful to you! Yeah we took a break over christmas haha I will mention to him that we should start it up again! Thanks mate :)
Absolutely fantastic! We've been using their wireless XLRs for a while and just recently bought their tiny IEM system... such great stuff!
Yeah they make some super cool stuff! Might need to get some more :D

How was the noise floor with the condenser running through the xvive & the wireless go?
