At about 3:50 they finally get around to the subject most people came to view, previously only saying that coal mines contain warm water. They don't ever answer the question whether these projects are actually economic. But the mine in France that they could extract 4% of the current world's lithium production from sounds interesting. And the guy at 11:00 is very candid about potential vs limitations.

A geothermal project that was trialled in Australia around 10 years ago failed because the steam produced from the molten rock released various crystals as it cooled which in turn blocked the pipes on the way to the earths surface and to the best of my knowledge no one has come up with a solution to the problem thus far

Do you have any links on this information. I am intrigued. What type of crystal?

@@michaelbarahona7871 I don't have any links, but I'm sure that there'd be documentation if you knew where to look, I'm fairly certain that it was a collaboration between government and private enterprise, my source of information came from one of the scientists involved and the company that he works for was tasked to find a solution, which, as far as I'm aware hasn't eventuated. The crystals I'm thinking he said were various salts and other impurities in the molten rock solidifying in the pipes when cooled with the water to make the steam to run the turbines

Which is why several lithium geothermal projects exist. Their is value in some of the minerals in the fluid, especially if they geothermal source is a brine.

Geothermal is based but isn't available everywhere. With Europe waking up to an extremely hostile neighbour, it's finally time we explore and use all these different sources for energy.

Connect up solar and turbines extra energy to the plants to encrease the temperature of the water when there is no other use for the energy produced and defacto you have a steam battery storage system encreasing the copasity to produce heat over time. Same idea as using excess energy to produce green hygiene the only type of hygiene we should produce as grey and blue hygiene have been proven to be worse for the environment then bering the oil or gas needed in the first place.

Human believe that, in the end, the nature will accept money, and bend to human power. It is science.
