Adventurous start with the weather but you fared it well. Keep the stories coming. 👍 In the 90's I was a firefighter in Illinois. For a time, I'd get up early and work out before my shift and I had a 22 mile drive in to the gym. I was doing around 65 in a 55mph zone and got pulled over. Two officers, a seasoned older guy and a younger officer. The older guy let the younger guy handle the stop, you could tell he was green. I told them what I was doing and the young officer went back to run my license. I look at the seasoned guy and asked him if the other guy was gonna write me up. He said HE wouldn't but it was up to the young guy... but if he did the young guy would get a good hazing back at the station. Cops & firefighter are paternal brothers and it was 4 am, no one was on the road. Well, I hope he got his hazing because I got the ticket. 😂 I've had a lot of pull overs where I should have gotten a ticket and didn't ,before and after my career as a firefighter, so it all evens out I guess. Safe riding Ken! BTW, I hope the lil breakdown was lil and you're on your way again.
Hi Ken, I just discovered your channel today. I've had 5 KLR's from Gen 1 and 2, they are a great bike, however these days I'm on an R1200GS Adventure. I look forward to watching your trip, so far in this video I see a lot of places I have travelled too. Cheers Geoff in Alice Springs.
I did what you did in 22 riding anti clockwise on an old TDM900, fantastic time and now have a KLR to ride the longest shortcut in the world next winter from Perth to Cooktown. Will follow your adventures with keen interest. Cheers
@kensbikestuff I was planning the same thing but my daughter is returning to Oz for a holidays June/July and taking off in August is leaving it a little late. So decided to finish off the lap by doing Tassie in the months leading up to summer. Would loved to have tagged along with you but will have to satisfy myself with following your vlogs on RUclips. Keep upright and safe. Cheers
Another exciting start to a big trip, Good to see you on a bigger bike briefly, i think thats where you will end up , Ive updated my KLR but i still cant part with it for the meantime, Paul
@@kensbikestuff Yes the transalps are a nice looking machine ive seen one at the dealer, i went for the bigger brother, Africa Twin second hand one, A world of difference to ride
Thanks Ken for the videos. Enjoying the commentary and stories stay safe👍
Cheers Mark

Cheers Geoff. I may need tyres in Alice. Who would you recommend. Ken
@@kensbikestuff I’d try Moto Mechanix first, if they don’t have what you need try Jetcor Yamaha

Cheers. Well, I have decided that I'm off again around Australia. I'm hoping June or July this year.
Stay Tuned. Ken

There's a very good reason that KLR's are the most popular RTW bike.
Yes they go and go. ken

Yes the old bikes are hard to part with. The next bike i get will be a Honda Transalp. They look amazing. Ken

What sort of Kay’s do you aim for per day? I’m trying to work out a big trip and the stops.
Hi, I try and aim for 400km a day. It depends also on how many times i stop. Ken
Forget the Transalp. Go for a Cfmoto 450MT.
Yes they look like an amazing bike. Ken
