Perfect please reach out to sales@hst.global who build the ML and are well versed in the Benz mechanism. Thank you for watching and best wishes to you.
In the begining of ML production the 4-ETS becomes only abs when you touch the brakes and I told the instructors this was the worst thing they could have done,That and not using the neutral position in the transfer case so it could be flat towed. I explained drivers want the control on the trail that dragging the brakes can afford. So later trucks had the traction control software improved to allow throttle and brake to be modulated together up to a higher vehichle speed . I worked on and have driven the ML since the introduction.
I’ve heard that the brake light switch can be modified to allow for use of the gas and pedals together. Would you happen to know the details of what’s needed? Thanks.
Nice video ! Thanks for sharing ! As a ML off-roader myself I'm always looking for good info to improve my chances in the desert/mud/snow. Also thanks for the Gastronomy section of your video !
I came for the ML off-road (I have a 2002 ML320), but I had to comment on your winch work. Please, when using the winch, don't stand beside the cable. If that had snapped or come off the anchor point it would have cut you in half. I know, it doesn't happen often, but it only takes once to ruin your day.
The ml it's nearly capable as Toyota is,but are 2 important thingy. One-cut the esp off otherwise it's pointless and second, keep the throttle on specially when your wheels are spinning and only then you would see the real potential of the merc.
The Mercedes did you try reading the manual, pretty stupid that is the easiest trail for my ML 500 to go through, you’re supposed to turn off the EPS and try using the low range for god sake, not to mention the manual says keep a steady throttle at a certain RPM consistently for the for ETS to kick him, that is a nothing trail I cannot believe he’s having such a difficult time because he’s not reading his manual
Nice adventure. I'm looking forward to the ML build video you promised :-)
I love the look I get when on the trail in my ML500 .
@@thelongranger55 we share the same. Lots of interest.
Wonderful area, and wonderful weather. And overlanding experience! Enjoy the experience.
Great video! Always like to see a ML with a hard work (i'm preparing One for this adventures) 👍

Insane W163 is the king of suburban
Wow,behind the edited part rocks me a lots. Like it!
Thank you Steven, glad u enjoyed it! 😊
I envy you guys , great trip , great people 😘
Hey, I love this video and your adventure. It's my dream to finally buy car like yours and do the same trip. Love it!!
Thank you SmootnyGarage, glad you liked it. Best of luck in your new purchase and pursuing your dream.
The owner of the ML was in low range with the shift in position D or 1
Love the ml i hae the same bumper from Aureliusoffroad
where did you get that front bumper on the ml? awesome
Thank you, it was custom custom built using a local fabricator with our specs.

Yes that is correct, different trucks. ML is very capable.
Hi. good video. I have a w163 ML350. Your 163 has an interesting rooftop bedroom, I'd like to see a separate review. Where can I see him? thanks
We will make a video of the build show casing the parts.
Ml driver needs some major upgrade skills. Mls eat up any terrain and this bloke has no idea!
He does have skills. It is a capable car.
The bloopers section made the vid. Good stuff, I just subbed. How did you get that LC to California?
I always pick up trash after others on a good outing the bed of the truck will fill up. Pretty sad
How did you ship your LC to United States?

We had difficulty reading manual while driving the trail...we will try audio books next time... In German.
Doing this changed the game off-roading in my Ml320. it's crazy how good it is!

@@bekabeka71 activating low range
Also it's setup in that configuration to allow both feet driving- on brake at the same time as throttle for more control.
"turn right, no! the other right.. lol
Sometimes you have to be logical :)
I have to know more about that Front Bumper... You probly had to Fab. New Brackets, but what kinda Bumper did you start with??
None. It's just tubing fabricated to mount straight to the car's existing steel bumper/frame.
Those things are very easy for my 2000 ML3 20. Your 4ETS isn't used correctly. Anwy nice video thanks
looks like it might not of been in low range. I have a 320 I off-road and I'm pretty sure it would have gone over those things more easily.
Does the ML not have center and rear lockers like the GL?
No lockers on the ML. But if the GL has its a special option, I am not familiar with it.
I think some four wheeling instructions are in order of you could not get your ML through these areas.
TLC 76 👍
Where can I get that front bumper on the Mercedes I’m looking for one for mine but can’t find anything unless I fab it myself
The front bumper is custom made by a local fabricator.
Hello, what kind of wheels are mounted on the ml?
They are E550 wheels.
@@offgridnomads377 ah ok thanks! I thought they were restrictions as to what wheels to use,as the ml are heavier than the sedans!
What size tire are u runnimg
They are 285 75 16.
ML Driver, you don't know how to drive :))
Does not matter how you drive, what matters is how you look when you drive 😉
@@offgridnomads377 That's right
