@@swaziinkenya for sure. I would love to.
What a beautiful country with beautiful people and traditions/ culture. I watched the night funeral vigils and this one on inheritance, it has some similarities and differences with Luhya of Kenya customers. We bring the body home at noon, it taken into the house for prayers and traditional rites. When the night set in the body is taken out to an erected tent. Everybody will be there singing and dancing, women are allowed later to sleep in the house. All men must stay with the body outside the whole night, in day there is funeral services before burial. We have ceremony few days after burial called Lovego, it meant to release the diseased from material world. Those who owe or those the deceased owed will come to settle even forgive the debt. The idea is to set the dead free from material world so that they can rest in peace. If there is a will on heritance it is affirmed, whatever is agreed during Lovega is biding in Kenya law. The Luhya never used to give land inheritance to girls but the new 2010 Kenya constitution allows for women inheriting land, I will come there to get me A Swazi woman.
Ohhhhh my goodness this is 90% similar to our culture. After a month there is a cleansing ceremony for the family to cleanse them from the dark cloud that had befallen on their family. This is where women remove some black necklaces that they wear after the funeral service. I am now more interested in the Luhya culture than ever before. I should visit Luhya land soon
