From one "old guy" to another: I bought the exact same model sold on Amazon under the name Dcorn 7 inch model X002OAJH4Z. Only difference was the micro SD card came already inserted. Setup instructions are lousy so your great RUclips should be a lot of help to people. A couple of things I have figured out is to check all the settings, as the defaults may not be right for you. Mine came with low resolution photos setting and with 50 hz which I changed to 60 hz to eliminate some of the flickering of the lights. Also the silver round thing is a lampshade which helps to diffuse the light and get better images. The clear plastic lens cover is good for setting a repeatable close up focus for measurements in micromillimeters. If you connect to a PC and use Windows Camera to take a photo it will only take a low resolution screen shot of the 7 inch screen and will not give you the 12 megapixel images. I did not try to use the CD software which apparently is only for videos. Best to take the photos or videos directly to the micro SD and transfer to PC either by USB cable or by taking out the SD card. When you plug in the USB to the computer (from the side of the 7 inch screen) it gives you the option of charging or file transfer or camera connection. Any other tips you may have discovered would be helpful. Here is my first video using the microscope, a tiny aphid working its way to a leaf and then sucking the juices. photos.app.goo.gl/1fd3zdiu9MANo7QU8

I have this model. The battery went bad after about 6 months. Not good for coins as set up. I had to extend the mount 8" to view us half dollar coins. It was advertised as 1200 power but is less than 100 power.

I have a similar version 7" with lighted base. One difference I notices was my base has a USB-C port for charging an onboard battery that is in addition to the camera/screen module battery.
Good enough for what it is, still haven't been able to see the bacteria swimming in the pool yet 🙂

I realize this video is a bit dated, but I plan on buying one of these this weekend. I am not sure which one, because there are multiple companies with hard names to pronounce that sell these, but I am sure that pretty much all DM9 microscopes on Amazon are the same...lol. Thanks for the content!

Nice review. Looks like this would be a good addition to the workbench.

I'm just now going to get a laptop to hook up to. I've had mine for a while and I love it except for the 2 d which prevents me from seeing the details. I had to get my own card but I still have the disk and never put it in yet

My lights won't turn on. How did you figure yours out. Also didn't get the same instruction pamphlet as you. Are the instructions on that there? Or did I just get a busted set of gooseneck lights?

the gooseneck lamps are powered buy the micro-usb on the back of the base. You can power it from battery if you plug the micro-usb connector on the cable down there Otherwise you could power the base from USB power source. Hope that helps...

I think there's one manufacturer, and a lot of relabeling...

Well I've had mine for at least 9 months and the battery is junk. The scope will some times just shut off unless you take off the battery cover and leave it off. And even after that it still randomly does it. I basically have to keep it charging.
