- Bajaj have finally launched the much awaited and the biggest Pulsar yet - the NS400Z. Heavily based on the NS200 in terms of design but loaded with the 373cc, 40HP engine and twin spar chassis from the Dominar 400, the NS400 also gets 4 Riding Modes, Traction control, bluetooth connectivity for all of Rs. 1.85L! How have Bajaj done this and what have they sacrificed to hit this magic number? Sarge hops on to find out!

Though the overall review couldn't match the overall feel of that og 2012 pulsar 200NS PTR review with it having better drama rush and feel with you and Rohan tenhut, and satyen commutourer poojary and Roger coming in as guests..i stil loved the new NS 400z review nonetheless especially with the original sarge 373 cc duke moment of always pushing away tenhut and wheeling away ... Maybe as a tribute to the original 373 cc platform was great thing to watch and my only thing for improvement was that you could have made it even more Grandeur and just for old times sake,bought Rohan back just as a guest for this review.

WoW Sarge, after a long wait "UNOFFICIAL PULSAR 400Z DOCUMENTARY" was so good. Thanks for this pure joyful gift. All the negatives and short comings were covered. And hopefully with minor changes as you rightfully suggested (change in tyres & rake angle) should make it better.
With pulsar 400, bajaj built a lot of expectation before launch (pre launch design). But what actually came out is really good, but may not have been the same as what they showed earlier.
It is all about what they showed & delivered which made people think a lot. But the bike may be good or even better. Need to see how it works in 70 countries.
Also makin it a Z, they have more varients.

The "Z" that they mention means more NS to come and i am expecting them to make some changes and also more quality product.
Yes.. I expect the Bybre callipers, aluminium swingarm, and better parts to follow. Please don't give more electronics, make this engine smoother. Thats what it needs.

Yes there's probably gonna be a off-roading version later on called NS400X or something and it'll compete with the 400cc Scramblers already available
They actually r working on a 600 cc engine for the ns n rs that may be following the z series...

Pulsar's are legendary bikes just look at that timeline what have they become have had most of them maybe this one is worth trying too. Still love to polish my old pulsar 180 ug3 in garage and taking it for a ride feels naturally monstrous. The raw feeling of old pulsar! ❤ and new ones are refined and good too ❤

Hello, I have just learned how to ride a bike. Now i am looking for a sports bike which has around 200 cc. I won't drive it faster than 80kmph so i don't care much about the top speed. But i want a sporty feel in it. But i am confused. Can you pls suggest me which bike would be a good option, which has a great handling and is comfortable for city rides?

@@nehaljethani Duke 250 if you want raw power and handling . MT-15 if you want a reliable all rounder with good city riding manners. MT-15 can run 6th gear from 30kmph fyi.

Updated pulsar ns400z should have a litter longer wheelbase, both radial tyres, and a bigger fuel tank. Also an option for wiser. Though I have booked my pulsar in red and waiting for delivery.

Bajaj did a fantastic job with this bike I mean if they would have changed the looks a bit different that would have been better but at this price tag it's fabulous and the thing is they gave you a platform at that price and things like tires or anything else a person can change according to his needs which 80% of people won't even need to do that and enjoy it straight ouuta showroom ❤❤❤

The best part with this bike is the amount of cost saving and confidence it gives to the first time riders.....
I mean I kinda saved enough to replace those weak tyres and give a little tweaks to the rear monoshock making this one of the best bikes that'll ever be in the 400CC segment.
Actually this'll be best bike in 400cc segment under 2lakh rupees, the overall best 400cc bike is KTM Duke 390.

I'm confused between speed 400 and ns400z. I test drove the former and loved it, but paying so much for a daily commuter doesn't make sense to me even though I can easily afford it (3 lakh, 15thousand in BLR).
What goes against the ns for me is the seat height, lower build quality and the buzzy engine. I'm so confused 😅

Haven't ridden the mavrick but this is definitely a good option once you swap the tyres

Both were test bikes given to the media for the review.

Hello sagar, considering the used market duke 390 bs4 model comes close to this brand new ns400, i am slightly confused as which one to pick up, (not looking from the 1st owner perspective)
Can you make a detailed technical comparison between the duke 390 gen 2 the bs4 and this ns400 and point out the ride experience

Hi Sagar was curious how to lower the seat height of triumph speed 400 as I’’ 5’ 5 height and would feel comfortable if the seat height could come down to 10-15 mm
The only option you have is setting the rear preload to the softest setting
in 2014 i saw sagar's review on power drift about 200ns and I bought it coz of this guy 😁😁😁😁 straight 10year+ still has no problem with 200ns. sold to my friend and boought adventure 390

Well many companies do cost cutting on the "TIRE"
But, I think there could be a solution to it. I'd rather sell those stock tires (If possible) & add some extra cash to buy a grippy tire. Maybe I'd upgrade it to 150 section rear, who knows 🤷🏽♂️

I would purchase this bike and put a 150 section tyre... It's sorted... And for the first time I've heard an Indian moto content creator focus on wheelbase... I mean that is one of the most important components that keeps the bike stable on straight stretches when we are on highways. Good informative content

The NS400 offers better performance but the Duke 250 is the better bike of the two in terms of riding dynamics and componentry

How is the power delivery compared to duke 390 and how is the tractability?
It's more linear and it is ok in terms of tractability. City commutes can be dealt with in 3rd gear with minimum clutch feathering

The engine has similar feel but is not as rushed with the gearbox more spaced out

Is braking not that good?? I mean in comparison to dukes 200, 250 or 390 because those have one of the best braking in the segment and how is this bike compared to those ktm's

Axially mounted vs radially mounted caliper. Could u kindly explain the difference Sarge?
Radial calipers are secured with bolts that run parallel to the discs, while axial-mount brakes are held in place with bolts that are perpendicular to the discs, parallel to the axle. That improved alignment and rigidity can provide better bite, more stopping power and improved feel under aggressive braking

One thing I've learned after this bike launched is that, cheaper doesn't automatically means better, it just means more accessible. I was so excited for this bike but now I cannot recommend this to basically anyone other than a person who's a long commuting distance (80-90 kilometers)
