- (5-3-2016) Tonight, about 7:30 p.m., I was allowed into the cab of a BNSF SD70ACe!!!!!!! This was just AMAZING!! This was kinda rushed because the crew was about to leave. This crew was one of the only crews that would've let me into an engine. NOTE: I WAS GIVEN PERMISSION TO DO THIS. NEVER GO SOMEWHERE WHERE YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE. AND THE CREW TOLD ME THAT POSTING THIS VIDEO WAS FINE. A HUGE thank you to BNSF Railway!! Please leave a like, comment, share, subscribe, and enjoy!

The trainman deserves kudos for making that lad's day.
How awesome. A respectful kid who loves trains. These engineers made a dream come true and probably found someone interested in a career path.
Yes sir that's right and thank you so much!
I remember when I was a kid once I got to do this.
I am just like him
Cracks me up that railfans know whistle/horn models. As crews we don't care and 99% of us don't know just as long as it blows.
Haha! The K5LLA's get loud.
I like K5HLB's and K5LLA's the most, they are loudest
Arthur West I know right! I know they sound cool but going bananas over it is kinda foamish
I one of the rail fans who dont know horns to save my life
@@pnwferry-nerd2486 Too bad the K5HLBs are extremely rare :/
This is unbelievably cool of that conductor and he sounds oh so nice. I really hope the world rewarded him
I hope so too but knowing the railroad they probably fired the entire crew. I wonder how they’re doing nowadays.
AWESOME vid, I was the van driver with the crew today. That was the first time I have been in the cab myself, something I know I'll never forget.I will pass this page on to the crew so they can enjoy all the work you do in these videos,Keep up the great work and follow your dreams....
+dave dewitt Thank you! You were!? SWEET!!
tap the horn kid....just LAYYYYYYS on it lol probably woke the entire town
?
Why wouldn't I want to blow the horn? This is something that non-railroad employees RARELY get to do so please stop complaining about everything.
+ATKrailfan 156 It just sounded kinda rude since I am lucky to even get to be in there in the first place.
Train Productions by iLoVeSD70Ace35 I think he was just saying that the guy probably meant for you to do a quick honk, but instead you did a long blast. Lol no big deal though. I would have done the same thing. It's a rare opportunity, you gotta make the best of it.
I've had 2 cab-tour's in the past few years from CP as a rail-fan. and it was totally cool to get one !
They probably got in trouble, they have cameras in the locomotives. Although they probably aren't checked unless something goes wrong.
@@ethanlee7823 @trainboi21 I just now saw this but I've had three cab tours as of 7/19/22, this being the first one. The locomotive I was on in the most recent occurrence did have a camera inside the cab. I wish this kind of thing wasn't so risky.
I felt the same way as you when I got to blast the horn in Amtrak Pacific Surfliner F59phi 463!! 463 was my favorite engine! But now it’s with Mehta in Chicago Illinois! It was like being the kid in Polar Express when he pulled the whole and said “I’ve always wanted to do that my whole life!” I got to do this in San Diego!
Reminds me of when an NS employee saw me getting some shots of a GEVO when I was about 14 or 15 and asked if I wanted a cab tour. No horn for me unfortunately, but to this day I appreciate his risking his job just to let me have a look in the cab, horn or no horn! I'd been in a number of museum loco cabs by that time, so a tour on a Class 1 cab was far more unexpected.
That’s awesome! Since this cab tour occurred I’ve gotten in an NS locomotive as well surprisingly. That was pure luck as this was also on BNSF trackage.
@@iLoVeSD70Ace35Yep, I don't know how often NS foreign power shows up on BNSF rails, but it seems like less often than we see BNSF on NS rails. So definitely a treat!
@@LotusbandicootRR Definitely! This was one of those ACC's though so that made the odds even slimmer. NS power shows up frequently but not those 1800s. Most of the heritage units have visited my city however.
The very first locomotive I got on and I can’t count how many afterwards I’ve been on, was a rock island at least a ge u25b and was stunned to learn as a 10-year-old back in 78 what is a horn lever instead of a cord never seen the horn liver never knew it was a horn lever. The engineer was the only one in the cab while the rest of the crew stopped to get a bite and groceries at the local corner store at the Crossing so he let us blow it and it sounded just like a southern Pacific P3👍😎.
I bet you felt like a kid in a candy store! I'd feel the same I love the SD70ACe's! They actually made me fall in love with K5LLA's!
Yes I did!
Wow BNSF crew was uber nice for letting you in there and recording it too. I install communications equipment and I have been in all sorts of train cabs, literally inside the cabinets wiring and such too lol. Most railroads have strict rules against letting people in there without formal permission and recording / pictures are a strict "no no" though.
Yes it was nice of them! And that's cool!
ElfNet Gaming uh,huh,Cool
It was my understanding that since 9/11 all locos were considered national security items so access to people without a need to be inside was prohibited. I hope those who did let you in don't get in trouble - especially taking pics and videos..
Awesome man! I've been given a few cab tours, one a repainted SP (UP 6175) and somewhat recently FXE SD70ACe but both finds they told me not to post it, so I didn't
Thank you so much! That's cool!! It sucks that they didn't let you post the videos.
This is amazing! What a nice crew they were! I personally have been right up next to one of these beasts, but never in the cab! Thanks so much for posting this man!
Thank you so much!! They were very generous!
Train Productions by iLoVeSD70Ace35 your very welcome! Yes, they were very generous!
Yes they were!
Love it. I've been in the cab of an ES44C4 before. I liked it lots, still have memories.
Thank you! Sweet!
This made me feel nice, i know that feel
Being in a locomotive's cab for the first time is truly unforgettable
And now i'm studying to be a train driver (or engineer or operator or whatever you call it) and have driven quite a few trains around already
Best decision of my life
This is why I want to be operating these huge machines one day as a career
It’s extremely rewarding but it’s a tough life. But again if you can manage being on call 24/7/365 you’ll be making bank
@@somerandomuserxxi2522 100% truth
Wow! What a nice engineer! I am gonna go inside a Santa Fe for my brithday :D
Honestly the k5lla sounds better with a sd70ace because it has the right air tanks btw thanks for showing this
Yes it does. BNSF 9739, an SD70MAC, has one on it.
They’re almost exclusively on SD70ACEs. It’s rare to see one that’s not on a K5LLA
you're lucky, I was in the cab of a GP38 or something once, and I barely remember it... I even got to drive it forward and backwards, it was a small industrial railroad, so I wasn't driving on a big mainline or something, but I honked for a crossing, tried the bell, and other things. All the engineer showed me is how to do the horn, bell and throttle... lol. Great video, wish I was you.
I got to be in an SD40-2 before and I got to honk it!
Nice!! I got a cab ride in an NW5 up in Duluth, MN. They were just switching some cars around, but it was still pretty cool to ride around for an hour or so.
-Jon
nice k5lla dude i love those locos they sound so good the horn was epic i am so jelly. awesome video
Absolutely epic TP! So happy for you!
Dude, this was amazing. Outstanding video! One BIG thumbs up from me!
1:54 K5LLA horn is my favorite.
Congratulations!!!! Really cool video bro! Keep these great videos coming!!!:)
You’re extremely lucky to be let in that cab, and record it as well.
Very true!
7 years ago.. you got lucky there! Sadly, most of the BNSF locomotives and other railroads installed inward facing cameras. Ever since Covid came, BNSF has getting alot of strict rules. And I highly doubt I’ll get one cab tour on a Class I. Great cab tour, though!
Thank you! Yes, things have gotten much stricter in recent years and the inward facing cameras are everywhere.
Wow! Very awesome!! Can't wait till I get to do that someday!
YOU SO FREAKIN LUCKY DUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!! THATS ONE OF MY DREAMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Darian Washburn there's actually a train in Wisconsin by the border next to Minnesota and you can ride in the cab it's most popularly referred as the pizza train on my other channel I took a video of me riding in the cab
SWEET! I've been in the cab of Oregon Pacific 1413 and they let me blow the horn. It is a really cool experience! AWESOME video!
+Trains N' Stuff Thank you!! Cool! I'm shocked about how many non-railroad workers have been in the cab of a locomotive! LOL
Yea. ME too. Next time I go to Vancouver, Washington, I'll ask if one crew can let me on. Check out my video on railfanning Vancouver, I asked the crew to the 2nd train to give me a hornshow, and they gave me one alright... I never asked if I could go on, though.
YESSSSSSSSS!
***** Thanks! This was an amazing experience.
What a polite young fella. This was an all around great video..
That was great I’m glad you showed no mercy on that horn that’s awesome keep it up dude!!!
Thank you!
Now that, is awesome! Great video!
That's really awesome!
That’s cool the BNSF SD70ACE Cab! I see you blowing the horn.
Thanks and yes!
You sound thrilled, I really hope you had a good time.
Wow! great job. Great tour.
Lucky guy! Bet you’ll remember this forever
Yes it's a memory that stands out for sure!
Awesome video man! Hopefully I’ll get to tour one of those cabs!
I've been in three modern cabs as of today actually, this one being the first. It's a surreal experience that most railfans dream of having.
Epic video! Awesome crew too!
How did you get to do this? How did they let you inside the cab
That is amazing! Hopefully I will be able to do that!
You are so lucky! I would be surprised to even drive an EMD SD70ACe!
Nice of that Engineer to let you in. Where I live, there's a little Class III with an ex-ATSF GP7u(lease unit), a GP-9(ex-MILW), and, get this: *Two Operational 70-ton Switchers(ex Ft Dodge DM&S) withe Leslie RS3L Horns.*
Yes. Cool!
Great video my friend!!! Nice tour!!!
Nice video! Amazing Crew!
so cool, thanks for sharing!
so cool that they let you in to see it all
Sweet video man!
So excited!!!
That must have been pretty Epic
I get to do that as well. Its neat to see the inside. And how much it changed. I'm into HO Scale model train club in Minneapolis. Minnesota. You can watch model train videos of the Hennepin Overland train Museum. I have videos from my Museum on my you tube channel. I'm glad you had fun. The video and photos where fantastic
ASTRONOMICALLY AMAZING!!!!!!! EPIC!!!!!!!
Thank you but calm down bro! :)
that engineer deserves a promotion
Yes he does! Sadly I haven’t seen those guys since so who knows where they are nowadays.
Cool man I have been in the cab of a CP GP40 SD40-2 and a GO Transit F59PH once
WOW!!! you are a lucky man!!! great vid!!!
(farts)
I want to hear it from an engineer or conductor...is the SD70ACe/M-2 really as bad as they say it is? If that was the case, wouldn't EMD have went the way of ALCO?
LUCKY nice k5lla they always sound the BEST
we do that in mexico all the time its an awesome experience!
This is in USA
+UP 5199 Productions - Yes it is. Springfield, MO.
Lucky!!!! Nice video as well
That's pretty sweet!
You're Very Lucky That BNSF Let You Blow K5LLA Train Horn. I wish that I was that very lucky.
Yes i was.
Awesome 👏🏻 I love aces too
Thank you!
1:54
Once, a NJ Transit engineer gave me a tour of a GP40FH-2B cab.
Sweet!
Amazing!
Thank you!
Awesome!
What an amazing and cool guy. Would love to do that.
Noice! I got to go in the cab of UP 844 when it came to Denver back in July. Didn't get to blow anything though.
Thanks! Sweet! I think many people have been inside that locomotive.
It takes a village to operate an engine. Awesome.
Heck yeah!
Just saw this! It's my dream to be able to climb and work in these behemoth locomotives!
Same here! Did you catch this exact unit? (BNSF 9089)
Not the unit, i was mentioning the video. Which is amazing along with the stills!
Awesome! The crews here in Alabama haven't let me do it yet.... Hopefully i'll get a chance soon.
Thank you! Good luck!
How nice... In my local line no engineer would allow railfans to get in the cab
I wonder if the kid in the video has a connection to the engineer, and maybe it's their mom/dad's friend
As a bnsf conductor i feel like id be fired if i did this for someone
Awesome ! I got a ride ( and to drive ) an SD45 a few days ago ! It's actually easier than it looks .
Thanks. BNSF said it is extremely rare that you get to do that.
dude this was so great.. what a nice crew to let you in the cab...!!
+Nick The Train Guy Thank you! And yes, that was one of the nicest things the railroad could have done for me. :)
yes how did that happen
I don't know exactly. LOL. I guess the crew saw me and wanted to take me up in the engine. :)
you are one lucky guy!
Thanks!
nice video. the sd70ace is my favorite locomotive and the sd70ace T4s
Cool, thanks!
very accommodating of the engineer, awesome ! lucky kid indeed
King of aces ♠️
Yep!
You are a lucky lucky person! When I was railfanning the Wheeling, some guy a MOW truck said if I wanted a cab ride... But when the Wheeling came by, they didn't let me on. (I didn't ask) Then the MOW truck came back and said, "Did they give you a cab ride?" I said no. Then he said, "Well the regular guy is on vacation so the why." So, there's my story.
Now that’s a nice K5LLA!
that was cool , wow I hope you told them guys where to see it ,, wow , so wow
+sparky107107 I was with the crew today and will be passing this on to them...
wow that's so cool that they let u do that and a SD70ACE always on a coal train nice vid
+Derpy Muffin Thanks! This wasn't hooked up to any freight cars at the time.
ik im just saying that when i see a coal train
a sd70ace always leads
Nice!! Done the same thing myself.
Ya know that’s cool every time an Amtrak stops, they give me a water (props to them) I’m always thirsty, any who I can just barely see the inside through, A: window or B: open door while engineer getting coffee.
Nice! Try to get as many of these as you can because they are adding cab cameras
Wow, that's amazing! Great video and big like!
+Erik Alfaro Productions Thanks! 3 dislikes and lost a sub. :'(
Train Productions by iLoVeSD70Ace35 No prob! I'm heartbroken that you're getting this negativity. You don't deserve it! You have great videos!
Thank you, can you help this video get lots of views?
Train Productions by iLoVeSD70Ace35 Yes I can. I also shared the video.
Victoria Yard Limit Productions I would hope not, I know BNSF is strict in this area so I hope they don't get mad.
Wow, what an awesome K5LLA!
K5LLA action @ 1:53
Agreed!
Very cool video
Thanks.
My dream job, And nothing can take it away from me
Dang that's sweet! I'm sure the horn is at least 120 decibels loud!
Thanks! Yep! Probably 130-150.
Train Productions by iLoVeSD70Ace35+ Wow! That's pretty loud!
Train Productions by iLoVeSD70Ace35+ np dude!
Awesome...
Thanks!
@@iLoVeSD70Ace35 welcome.
Your one lucky guy man! I would KILL to get in the cab of an SD70ACe!!!! Or a D9-40CW
One time, the same thing happened to me. Instead of an SD70ACe though, it was an Acela locomotive!
That’s cool!
Cousin Neil, my actual cousin, is a retired i believe engineer. Hes from Georgia and he said i can be in NS, CSX, and i think either Amtrak or BNSF.
Very cool!
And How To Get In?
Sd70ace is my favorite out of all
They rank high on my list also!
Sounds very excited😂
I was!
