- Join us in this winter walking tour through the Acropolis in Athens Greece and do let us know your thoughts & tips about the city in the comments section below. We'll always take time to reply.
We start our slow tv 4K adventure with a spectacular view over the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, with the city of Athens spread out behind.
A stepped path takes up to the Acropolis itself, where we are met with the Temple of Athena Nike on our right, the Pinakothḗkē on our left and the ancient entrance to the Acropolis, the Propylaea, ahead of us.
And following through here, we find the great Parthenon itself, as well as the Hekatompedon Temple, The Porch of the Caryatids, the Erechtheion, the Temple Of Rome And Augustus as well as the Old Acropolis Museum.
How do we afford to travel so often? We're lucky enough to stay for almost free in every city, using bit.ly/livingwalks

Its actually so much more beautiful than on the photos. Imagine hwow it feels to stand there.
Ah indeed so Dhe, the sense of scale you get when you're beneath it is wonderful.
Stood here right now!
Living permanently in Athens I find this so relaxing
What a lovely city to live in, so pleased you enjoyed walking it here too with us. All the best to you.
Join us as we explore the fabled Acropolis in Athens, Greece. View not just the Parthenon, but the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion and the Hekatompedon Temple among others.
Stunning!
Thanks Street Walks - we were so lucky with the weather that day, and going late in the day meant that we avoided the crowds.
That is very beautiful walk 😊
So many historical places😊
Pleased you enjoyed it GW
For me, one of your best walks so far.
Shame HG Wells' Time Machine isn't yet for hire.
Ah quite so Philosaurus, wouldn't that be something!
Love when you let us experience the immensity of the columns in its entirety and when you do panorama shots of what the full view would feel like if we were spanning the sky from left to right or even 360. I'd also adore seeing you stop in a few places to show us the details such as a close up of the materials it's made of. Or even small features that seem to pass by too quickly but that make the monuments or streets you visit unique. :) It would make us feel even more close. -Much thanks from a severely disabled housebound traveler. Keep up the good work!
So sorry not to have replied earlier Shiroi, I've just noticed your message. We're so very pleased to have seen it and to bring the walks to you. Thank you so much for letting us know and connecting.
Like I was there again, thank you! I love these walks as it brings back memories
Ah, you're very welcome. Sounds like you had a great time there
Thank you LW, I've always been intrigued and now have quite an insight from this walk with you.
Thanks MA
Τhanks for the video. Really enjoyed it because unlike with similars here that include music or bla-bla-bla sound was minimal. As they say silence is gold. You let video and pictures speak for themselfs. Keep up the good work. You gained a new subscriber.
So glad you enjoyed it R! It's lovely to hear that you like the video and pictures to speak for themselves. Hope to bring you many more and to stay in contact.
Thank you! 😄 A beautiful virtual walk for a Sunday morning. 👍
Thank you AC, kind of you to say so.
Thanks for the tour. Always wanted to go there but with the world conditions as they are I won't be going. Appreciate your video tour
You're most welcome Paul, hope you do get to visit someday. I'd certainly recommend it.

Your video moved me so much, believe me my friend! I walked with you in that incredible place....
So extraordinary memories!
Really well made. It seemed to be there with you! Thanks sooooo much.
Greetings from me. Renata
Thank you Renata, so kind of you to say so, you are most welcome. Good to share the walks with you.
Oh what a difference a year makes.
Ah yes indeed Ny-kel.
Thanks for the tour!
For me, a tour of Athens / The Acropolis holds a special nostalgic meaning since Athens was my first walking tour video (almost 10 YEARS ago, hard to believe). Funny to still see the construction cranes present on the site, they'll probably be there in a similar tour filmed 10 years from now ;-).
I remember the local site security having no problem with me filming but they had an issue with me using a microphone to capture the audio lol (after some back and forth exchanges, they let me use it).
Anyway, great job capturing the place and ambiance. These types of videos age like fine wine, gradually changing purpose from capturing a place as it is and becoming a 'time capsule' of a place as it was.
You have gained a new subscriber.
Morning GTA, Well what a nice message to wake up to on a grey day.
How interesting to hear that Athens was your first walking tour video (and almost 10 YEARS ago!). So the construction cranes were there even then?
You are a Pioneer of these kind of subtle walks and I'm grateful to you for it.
They really are an important document of our times and your films are so subtle and sensitively made. I've been watching again your footage of Banff National Park in Alberta and love your pace and timing and your knowing just how much to give us.
I've subscribed to you too of course and added you to my featured channel. If you feel like doing the same it would be a welcome thing but that's not my purpose.
I'll be getting the DJI pocket 2 next week btw, any thought on it yourself. It seems like a powerful little thing and so good in low light.
Anyway, like fine wine I hope our relationship grows and remains here on youtube, I value the connection.
@@LivingWalks Thank you for the kind words. I do try :-)
The DJI pocket 2 looks like a nifty new camera. It's amazing how far and fast camera tech has improved within the last decade, especially stabilization tech. DJI has been leading the charge in creating very good and affordable cameras and support systems. I use their DJI Ronin S with my Panasonic GH5. They just came out with the Ronin RS 2, the replacement for the Ronin S (it's almost impossible to keep up with the speed in which newer/updated camera tech is released).
A camera system like the DJI pocket 2 has 2 very desirable traits for this type of filming. Size and weight. It's also very competitively priced. My main concern for this camera system would be the sound quality of the add-on microphone. Also, how easy would it be to attach/change the ND filters and their quality? Finally, the size of the screen would make it kind of difficult to frame a shot (for filming while walking, it doesn't really matter since I never really know what's in the footage until I sit down and review it on my laptop).
I'm curious to see your future footage with the DJI Pocket 2. If it does indeed deliver, I might look into picking one up myself for those shots that require some 'stealthiness' lol.
I shall add you to my featured channel list as well.
Pro tip: you can watch movies on Flixzone. I've been using it for watching all kinds of movies lately.
@Gerardo Myles Yup, been using Flixzone} for since november myself :)
Beautiful!
Thank you, good of you to drop by to tell us you enjoyed it. All the very best to you.
Nice video! Great views of that site!
Thank you MWA
Incredible tour. Just love this one. The light and color are outstanding. Is this straight out of the camera or did you color grade it? Thanks -Henry
Hi Henry, kind of you to say so. A bit of colour grading but not much as it was a lovely day (once the rain subsided).
@@LivingWalks Thanks. Looks great. -H
Thanks for share this experience. Amazing video! Greetings from Argentina!
Thank you Martin, so pleased to be of assistance. All the best to you.
Really wonderful video !!! I was at the Acropolis on September 9th 2019, at 1 pm: terrible hot 35° and a mess of people ! I thought to die under the burning sun, but it was dry. I think the next time I will return to Athens, I will go to Acropolis in the morning: quiet, silent and few people.
How nice to hear from you and Interesting to hear your experience in having gone at a different time. Going to the Acropolis in the morning when there's few people sounds like a good plan.Very happy to bring you our walks, thank you for taking the time to connect. We appreciate it.
HI Living Walks, is this your most recent video. I really appreciate and admire it a lot! Good work, and greetings from China.
Thank you AN, same goes for your video's
OPA!
Why thank you Meinart!
What kind of equipment are you using to video?
Hi Bob, a gopro and a gimbal and I've put the details in the description section under the video. All the best.
nice video.
Thank you Kito
Have you been to the museum.
Yes indeed and we loved it.
Amazing images! I’ll be in Athens in a month‘s time - can you let me know at what time of day you went up to the acropolis? Looks like there weren’t too many people up there at that time. Thanks!
Hi Grace, we went in the late afternoon around an hour before closing time. Hope that's helpful. We have more of Athens here and more to upload shortly if you do feel like subscribing?
@@LivingWalks perfect - thank you so much for getting back to me. We'll be following your advice and watch your other videos on Athens.
Hope you enjoy them Grace and your visit too.
What month was this filmed?
Hi Dion it was filmed in January!
