On the year 1975 I was lucky to see their live show just where I live in Porto/ Portugal,it was really unforgettable, those were the days...Masters !...
Tu és um homem de sorte! Deve ter sido um momento único! Assistir Camel ao vivo é uma espécie de "non plus ultra" dos eventos musicais. De fato, o rock progressivo parece feito para nos levar a outra dimensão. Saudações do Rio de Janeiro, Brasil!🇧🇷🇵🇹
As one of camel's oldest NEW fans having only discovered them back in 23 I deeply appreciate this upload. While like any artist or band, I don't like EVERYTHING I've heard from them but the vast majority of their music is absolutely amazing. Andy Latimer and the rest of the band are absolute geniuses
I became a fan back in about 1974 when I was 14 years old, and there are songs they did then that I Still don't like, but for the most part I love them as I'm sure you do too. In the 70's I saw them here in Birmingham, England about 12 times and many more since then, including the amazing gig at the hammy Odeon back in 1984. I'm 64 now and I'm still hoping for one more gig.
Sush a superb live performance, these guys were top musicians, I think Andy Latimer is one of the best guitarists I’ve ever heard and Peter Bardens was an amazing keyboardist (although his keyboard could’ve done with being louder), Andy Ward was an exceptional drummer too, (later to join Marillion), the band is so tight but the performances are virtuosic. Love this album, especially “La princess Perdue” (the lost princess) so perfect.
superbe grand groupe musical 70-80 ,,, Mike Oldfield ,Supertramp , Barclays James Harvest , Yes ,,, si on réfléchit Foreigner , acdc , Scorpions , j'adore aujourd'hui difficile ... disparu .... la musique a changer
l thought they lost it after" l can see your house from here" which although a good album failed to capture the magic of the earlier albums which were Prog /Rock classics .
The last time I saw them was with my son Peter at the Wolverhampton Civic Hall a few years ago, and Andy's performance of 'Ice' actually brought me to tears.
Thanks for making this available and your fine work. We must cherish the 60's and 70's music. They don't make great music like this anymore 😢 And those old videos needs work to capture in current standards.
Camel.gentle giant.caravan.le son d une generation.notez que ts les musiciens sont top et que tout est analogique..out the computer, it s better like this.michael biker.
Shame they got rid of Doug Ferguson on bass. This period was too heavily geared towards Bardens who was into jazz. Ferguson wanted to keep a more progressive rock approach.
Sorry, boys, Camel is not (never was) progressive. It's jazz fusion, the tones, the themes... While they are excellent musicians in their respective instruments indeed, and excellent soloists too, their compositions are 'linear'. 'Progressive' means 'modulation' more complicated chords, not only fundamentals, 3rds, 5ths, 7ths. I mean augmented 4ths, 11hts, 13ths, d AND chord progressions. They keep the songs at the same tone - a little boring... It's jazz fusion.. Beethoven was the first progressive composer. He broke the fund/3rd/5th structure of classical music. Listen carefully to his 5th symphony. And of course listen to Yes from 70 to 77, Genesis from 72 to 78, Gentle Giant, even Procol Harum, Renaissance, Triumvirat, ELP.
Andrew Latimer was one of the most melodic of the prog guitarists. He could say more in a simple line than many could with a hundred notes.
Was ????? He still is one of the best prog guitar players......
And he does not online plays guitar.
Remarkable expressions as he plays. 😎💙🐫🐪🐪🐫🇬🇧👍
Great Band , One Of The Underrated Bands..

Em 1975 tinha eu 13 anos, ainda não conhecia Camel! Conheci pelos meus 16 anos e adorei, até aos dias de hoje!
Ik begrijp niet dat Camel nooit een wereld beroemde band is geworden. Great sympho and prog band.
What a drummer Andy Ward was, Got this album from a girlfriend in 1977 and still got it, is it possible to still have feelings for all this time later
you should call her and say thanks;)
Que elegancia de sonido, lo sigo escuchando como el primer dia y ya han pasado años, cerca de 50 años. ❤❤

They went through many changes some for better or worse but in my mind the original 4 members formed the best version of the band.
❤
Well. We go yet another moonjunista here. : )
Absolutely the best, what talent they had, wondering if Andy Latimer is ok now??????
l thought they lost it after" l can see your house from here" which although a good album failed to capture the magic of the earlier albums which were Prog /Rock classics .

Great stuff! I hope Andy is over his health issues now and can get back to touring🙏
The last time I saw them was with my son Peter at the Wolverhampton Civic Hall a few years ago, and Andy's performance of 'Ice' actually brought me to tears.

Ja, so ist es leider ...
Weltklasse, einfach nur genial
Good lord, those first clips are some of the tightest Bass/Bass Drum playing I've heard. There must be a lot of lint that deep in the pocket...

All Ed did was cut the vocals
Shame they got rid of Doug Ferguson on bass. This period was too heavily geared towards Bardens who was into jazz. Ferguson wanted to keep a more progressive rock approach.
It was Andy Ward who wanted the change and Andy Latimer had a rough decision to make.
