    By far the best on the market. Especially for larger spaces, high ceilings, etc. I'm 4 years into mine and its fantastic!

    Laundry detergent was causing a lot of my eczema. What helped was washing clothes with Tide Free and then washing a second time with no detergent. This washes out the residual detergent. I never use fabric softener sheets in the dryer. Try this and see if it helps.

    That is some interesting history on HEPA filtration! The Manhattan Project, of course. I bought a HEPA+ Carbon cabin air filter for my VW, no more headaches in traffic. I wish my previous workplace had given a 😐 about preventing Covid. Most retail businesses just do security theater to "appear safe". Hope you're staying safe, that virus is horrible especially for those of us with pre-existing respiratory conditions.

      @@JeffreyLin have you ever purchased a different brand for replacement filters? I'm getting a foul scent coming from my V5 Cell filter. I had a set of OEM replacement filters sitting their boxes so I replaced all 3 and I'm still getting a foul smell coming from the V5 Cell filter. None of the filters needed replacement according to the hours left but I started to get almost a burning smell coming from my unit when I moved it to my bedroom. I did an isolation test per IQAir customer service and the smell is definitely coming from the V5 Cell filter. Also, removing the V5 Cell filter and only running a pre filter no smell. However when I added the hepa I was getting a plastic smell coming from the Hepa filter. I read a lot of reviews on this issue and found it could be due to the glue they used. Customer service rep said there is a shelf life of 2 years for the V5 but there is NO way of finding out if the V5 is expired as they only have a lot number on the all filters. Any help or advice would be great! I don't want to give up on this machine just yet. Thanks for your detailed review! You know your stuff! Hope to hear from you.

      @@Nate_4545 Hi I recently purchased a HealthPro Plus and I am having bad reactions as well to something the unit is producing. I've already taken the v5 filter out. That helped because the v5 filter had a specific odor on its own that was causing me problems. The customer service person I spoke to said it could be the alumina within the v5 media and that they would send me a carbon-only v5 filter. I'm waiting on that to arrive. However, I'm still having issues and I can't tell whether it's from the Hepa or the pre-filter. It's giving me very bad headaches and a slightly sore throat. This is the first time I've come across anyone referencing a potential issue with a glue used in the Hepa filter. Can you link me to other sources where people have described this issue?? I would really appreciate it. And did you ever figure out anything further or resolve this issue for yourself? What was IQAir's response to all of this?

People in my neighborhood smoke chemical /synthetic marijuana and vape....it goes straight through my house...It has two old chimneys and a bad roof/ and windows it’s a lot. I never thought I’d welcome cigarette smoke which they do too! I have three Airpuras and 3 Austin airs .. they help greatly I find the filters with lots of carbon help the most- all the best☀️

    Something I can’t wrap my head around is how does a large unit filter 1’000 square foot area? How does it get the air from each end of a big open space instead of just recycling the air directly around it? Half my house is all open to each other from the entry, through the living room, dining room, and kitchen (100 year old bungalow) and 1 good unit would certainly be easier but I still feel like I need one for each main room.

    I recently got the pro version you have. One strange anomaly is that it makes the air smell like peppermint. I thought the unit was supposed to remove smells, not add a scent of its own. What's up with that? I messaged the manufacturer but did not get a response. Perplexed...

    I've been watching you for so long trying to find answers for a friend who is going through so many similar health conditions as you. Have you ever tried or heard about FMT (fecal matter transplant) as an option for healing?

    • @JeffreyLin
      @JeffreyLin  2 года назад

      No I’ve never tried it. The science on that isn’t definitive so following my current treatment plan and making small adjustments is the better option for me right now. And I’m not sure FMT is relevant for my condition. It could be for other illnesses or root causes of illnesses, so it just depends on the situation.

    • @jessicah3450
      @jessicah3450 3 года назад

      @@jessicah3450 the weird thing is in my household we check it quarterly and the filter is fine but I can still sometimes see dust accumulation on the air vents in each room. It leads me to believe that even if the filter looks ok even up until the four month mark -- and you own no pets -- it doesn't mean that it will catch all dust all the time. It seems that professionals might have to finish the job every ten years or so -- maybe less, maybe more, I'm not sure.

    • @JeffreyLin
      @JeffreyLin  3 года назад +3

      Hey Mike, again it comes down to the CADR rating of the air purifiers you own. For smaller rooms such as bedroom and home office, one Honeywell HPA300 or HPA600b is more than enough. The "game room" where I filmed this video is open space, so needed this large IQ Air that had a big enough fan to cover this square footage. With Honeywells, it might take 3x HPA 300's to cover this room
