    They should just make a multiband dynamic eq. This is awesome though for sure!!!

    please explain me
    Because when I do the procedure of the pin connector, the modulation parameter does not receive input 3/4 orders, but rather the 1/2 ¿what is happening?.

    That's great, thanks a lot Kenny. There's just one detail I didn't understood...
    At 11:53, how do you recall the parameter modulation windows? Is it a shortcut? But for what action in the list?
    As usal a very good tutorial and very useful - and powerfull - in many situations. Thank's again! :)

    • @JanSandahl
      @JanSandahl 4 года назад +1

      @@piscesman54 Yes, and be mindful that the keystroke you assign, will need you to be focused in a Reaper window. At least for me, when I'm in a plug-in it doesn't respond.

    I think this is better than a multiband compressor

  • @drewchan84
    @drewchan84 4 года назад +1

    How does this process differ from the multiband compression in ReaXcomp, for example?

    • @andreyaek2266
      @andreyaek2266 4 года назад +1

      ReaXComp handles frequencies with crossover filters splitting up the entire frequency range. In order to affect just a single narrow band you'd need to set up dummy bands on each side of it to be able to define the range you want to compress. Those crossover filters are pretty steep (finite impulse response-based maybe?) and will likely sound very different to the smooth filter bands being sidechained here.
      In some cases both options might be viable. If you're taming an entire mix or group and you want to influence pretty much the entire frequency range I definitely see both as being useful options. That's pretty much what multiband compressors are for, but dynamic EQ can get you just as good results. I might simply try both and see which option gets me the results that I want.
      For sure if you're just hearing a few frequency ranges you want to control, as is the case here. I'd say dynamic EQ is the more intuitive option though. And you can make some FX chain templates with different amounts of bands to save time when you're in the flow. ;)

  • @DrGlu
    @DrGlu 4 года назад +1

    I wonder if i can link the frequency fader of the band pass EQ to the frequency fader of the dynamic eq? If it can't, saving these EQ as a chain doesn't really help!

    • @marcchurch1245
      @marcchurch1245 4 года назад

      That's a really good point, but you just need to find your problem frequency and then be sure to set it in both the main eq and the sidechain eq.

    • @ppppatcho
      @ppppatcho 4 года назад +1

      On side chain band pass filter's frequency, add a param modulation, but rather than having audio as the source, choose the source as the FX parameter of the corresponding band in the main instance of ReaEQ.

      you absolutely can and then there's no need to set the frequency band on both instances of ReaEQ

    Hello Mr. Kenny G. I’ve seen your tutorials on Reaper via RUclips. Thank you for your relative contributions to the platform. I was wondering if you could work with me on a one on one session through Team- viewer or Logme in 123 or a similar program. Do you do this type of work for hire ? it would mos definitely help me in my learning process. Reach out to me, let me know if you can assist me in learning more about Reaper and it’s tools. Have a great day. Bob Newsome
