  • This video took quite a while to produce, but gee is it worth it. I loved making this, and I think it is something truly interesting and unique. Thanks for watching and supporting even the wackier stuff I make!

    There was no grass when the dinosaurs lived, but overall, very well done

      @paleojohnathan  11 месяцев назад +1

      actually during the late cretaceous, when this takes place, both grass and flowering plants would have evolved, making the flora have a shocking resemblance to the modern day. That's why i decided to use it as the setting for the video. Prehistoric Planet did the same exact thing.

    Great work. I hope you plan on doing more videos like this.
    I like how you used the Velociraptor, Nodosaurus, and Dryosaurus to represent Dakotaraptor, Denversaurus, and Thescelosaurus respectively. Hopefully we'll see Thescelosaurus in JWE2 through DLC. Alamosaurus may not have necessarily lived in this area though but perhaps individuals may have migrated there or we have yet to discover any remains of Alamosaurus in the formation.
    Also I'd love to have Alamosaurus in JWE2. We could use more titanosaurs, Argentinosaurus, Paralititan, and Jainosaurus would be cool additions too.

      Your wish came true! Alamosaurus is in JWE2! Now all we need is fossil evidence that Alamosaurus would’ve occasionally wandered within close proximity to the Hell Creek Formation.

    triceratops would have probably been solitary, or in small groups, suggested by fossil evidence, while ceratopsian remains HAVE been found in enormous numbers, triceratops was one of the largest species, and has only been found in small groups or alone
    and also the dracorex and stygimoloch theory is absurd and highly unlikely

    • @paleojohnathan
      @paleojohnathan  2 года назад +2

      In this case I had them grouping together because of mating season, although I guess I should have clarified that better probably.
      I continued a long line of documentaries using somewhat shaky and outdated science in order to push a narrative with the dracorex and stygimoloch thing, but it’s not completely off the table. I should have put more research into this before making the video just to be sure but I don’t feel like it’s actively misinformation yet.

    Hi, PJ(hope it's OK if I call you that) I don't know if you remember me from 2 videos ago but I just wanted to say my Christmas park is going very well, so far I've used Dilophosaurus, Nodosaurus, Parasaurolophus, Olorititan, Stegosaurus, Dryosaurus, Camarasaurus, Brachiosaurus, Kronosaurus and Cryolophosaurus. What I've done is name certain creatures famous Christmas characters from movies(example: I named both of my Kronosaurs, one being called Mr.Krank and the other being called Mrs.Krank, from the movie Christmas with the Kranks. I named a Dilophosaurus The Grinch, all of the paras Santa's reindeer etc.) Also, good job on the documentary, I felt like I was watching animal planet or something. Lol

      dakotaraptor is a closer to the ingame raptors despite being less like the actual velociraptor. had i made this with the new dlc i would have used pyroraptor and called it dakotaraptor since that's the closest we have to any dromaeosaur in hell creek in the game. if i were using a realistic velociraptor yeah i would have called it acheroraptor

    Dracorex and Stygymoloch weren’t younger Pachys. Pachycephalosaurus is in North America, Dracorex was in BOTH North America AND Asia. Pachy was not in Asia. Stygymoloch lived in North America. So Dracorex could not be a younger pachy because pachys didn’t live in Asia. So that theory isn’t true.

    • @paleojohnathan
      @paleojohnathan  2 года назад +2

      eh, it's still up in the air but i guess it could be leaning that way. i guess i continued the documentary tradition of pushing away modern science in order to push a more convenient narrative lol

      Funny how "dracorex" is known from SINGLE juvenile specimen unearthed in Hell Creek...

    • @paleojohnathan
      @paleojohnathan  2 года назад +1

      @@demoncore5342 i think it's still far more up in the air than people on both sides think. until we find adults or juveniles of either or until we can get intermediary stages between them it's really hard to tell

    • @demoncore5342
      @demoncore5342 2 года назад +2

      @@paleojohnathan Yes, but that's frankly the main argument. We have only adult pachys and only juvenile stygies (and a dracorex) in the same formations. Sure, if we get an adult stygimoloch the genus is valid again and the theory gets a solid counter, but as it is, it's pretty convincing.
