I have 3 Crested. When I first wanted one, I did my research. However, even though I wanted a Halloween I wasn't too pick on a coloring. I bought mine from a reptile store, and at the time I bought the exo-terra Crested Gecko started kit for tank + my gecko all at the same time. I had no idea what color or gender. I purposely bought one who already had no tail. I picked my gecko based on personality. I was holding it, and it kept jumping on my shirt. First time I weighed her she was 8 grams. She did turn out to be a Halloween. She's over 4 years old now and about 60 grams.

I have the cold back up plan, I just figured if the air went out I would come home to a dead Handsome. I was going to be so sad. Thank you again.

Just ordered my 1st crested from a breeder. I have everything I need including three tank options and different types of foods. I think I’m ready, thanks for all the advice and info.
Surprised on the friends and family mention, I did not know at the time but when I bought from a massive breeder in Canada they required I pay through friends and family.

I adopted from my local reptile rescue. They do great things. My guy does have polydactyl back feet. I know some people frown on that for some reason, but I love my gecko.
I have one polydactyl too. Lovely little guy, as long as the gecko is healthy noone should say something imo... you probably shouldnt breed with such geckos tho😅
I would add one more. Find a place near you to take your reptile should it need medical attention before you get it. For me, there is not a local place for me to take my geckos should they get ill or need attention. For me I will have to travel to Birmingham or Huntsville. After some research I will be taking my exotics to Huntsville. So now if we need a vet visit I know what days they are open. How long to travel and if I need to take time off work to get there or not. For me, I didn’t do this before I bought my gecko but have now researched it and will be taking mine for a wellness check to make sure they are doing well and so the vet will be familiarized with my four little geckos. Maybe just food for thought to add to the list. I have learned so much from you. Bought my first gecko in January and now I have four. 3grams to 19 grams. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!!

Nice video as always! I'm buying a crested gecko this week! I already have the enclosure set up and have everything i need, so most tips i already used for my own. But still some tips helped me a little bit. I am going to buy mine of the Dutch craigslist, but the Dutch craigslist is like way more advanced. There u get protection on what u buy and there are even big crested gecko breeders! And as always amazing video!
I bought my first gecko Last week. I few things went wrong. First mistake was the PayPal friends payment and second mistake was that the Heatpack malfunctioned, but he is completely fine now. I'm happy I finally got a gecko after a year searching for one :)
