The overall levity of the show adds so much more depth to the serious moments making them have more of a punch.
Precisely why Tfs does the best job at the whole abridged series thing they know exactly when to switch from funny to serious

I grew up with the brazilian dub (which is iconic in its own way) so I have no nostalgia with the English or Japanese Freezer’s voice acting.

I absolutely love the dialogue between Goku and Freeza here. Up til now Freeza has been kinda above it all and always dominated conversations because he could dominate in a fight. This is the first time Freeza is completely unable to be menacing and controlling 'cause Goku is just that absurd and confidently so XD

9:28 is when Goku's stupidity begins to actually shatter Freeza's soul. You can hear it in his voice and see it in his eyes.
When you think about it. Goku is frieza's ultimate enemy if not worst nightmare because of how stupid he to not comprehend all of frieza's quips.

That’s definitely what I love most about this fight. Throughout the whole arc, Freeza’s shown that he enjoys intimidating or pissing people off with his smarmy arrogance. So the fact that Goku is such a wildcard and doesn’t understand most of Freeza’s insults slowly gets under his skin until he completely loses his composure and starts attacking irrationally. He’s essentially the type of bully who will do anything to get attention, and will just keep pushing their limits if they can’t get a rise out of someone.

And I also learned that Frieza, Goku, and Piccolo all have higher power levels than Vegetta. No wonder why Vegetta and Piccolo have never fought, because that would mean that Piccolo could of won. But wait a minute, Goku has never won a fight against Vegetta. And Goku has won a fight against both King Piccolo and Piccolo Jr., who also had enough strength to kill both Raditz AND Goku. And if that didn't make your head explode with the rest of your body, Goku was able to beat up Nappa, who killed both Piccolo AND Tien, with ease, but couldn't defeat Vegetta. Vegetta was defeated by both Gohan AND Yajirobi before this saga ever began.
I dare anyone who reads this to let all of this sink in. But I swear, if I have to hear someone ask what a Dragon Ball character's power is one more time, I will gouge my feet off with a plastic spoon!
