Wow. No matter how fast and deft it is, it's one stroke, one hair at a time. But that's what we humans do! Beauty, discipline. It really is wonderful to have the benefit of a fine practitioner of her art, matter of factly sharing this awareness with anyone who will watch. Thank you so much!
I used to draw this good years ago but with a new job my art skills came to a halt. Now I’m back and learning these techniques again. I appreciate and love your work Leontine, thank you 🙏🏻
It is beyond understanding how anyone can draw this well!! It's actually better than the photograph. Thank you for your video, you are so very talented:)
Im so late... 1 yr later. Ik this is a timelapse but it actually helps me visualise how to use the white background in the drawing. It's hard to explain but tysm for this vid and wow that's mind blowing!!
You are amazing!!! it's so nice to look at you draw. I love how gracefull it looks. The result is stunning!! SOOOO realistic. Thanks for sharing with us, that's very generous of you.
I gave color pencils a try recently. I bought a set of 36 and a set of 72 because they went on sale for a good price. Unfortunately, I really, really don't like working with them. In my opinion, they are are extremely tedious. I prefer a process that's more like painting where you quickly block in the colors and then build up the details. I discovered pastels recently and they are like a dream. It's like a cross between painting, charcoal and color pencils. I'm amazed by the potential. I still like watching your videos, Leontine, because you are so talented with a great teaching style. I just imagine how I might do it with pastels. If you haven't already, check out Leontine's website. It's fantastic.
You made it look possible for me..thank you so much. I hope you know how helpful you are and I'm sure that you are loved by many.. love Marcia in Modesto
I'm new to Pencils after working with Watercolour for years. Could you do a detailed tutorial on how to leave space for the white hairs (such as in the ears etc) as I find it quite hard!
Thanks for getting me into drawing cats! This is my first time drawing one. Of course it ended up nothing like yours but maybe one day I'll be good enough 😊
Great video, very helpful. One other thing that would be very helpful for aspiring artists is if you include the dimensions of your portrait. I know for me personally it would give perspective for details one is able to realistically put into a piece, how long it takes for such size and more. I'm typically working in a standard sketchpad (A4)
Hello there, loved watching your drawing of the cat. I am very new to drawing especially with coloured pencil. What I would like to know is what I actually get with Patreon, is it just the one drawing that I get to choose from??? Also would like to know do I pay by the month? Thank you for your attention.
What are some of the best colored pencils used for realistic drawings that are cheap??? I'm thinking about pushing myself to a higher level and start coloring my realistic drawings. And I'd like to know some good colored pencils to use for my drawings. I don't want to be stuck using those crappy Crayola supplies...
Ive tried drawing this with the luminance but they still give like a shade blurry touch to the fer, yours almost look like pain when i see you draw the Hairs. What im i doing wrong? The white hairs, I dont get how you make sure you have a even line of white between the fur. Mine still looks like a childs drawing, do you do short hairs or long ones?
@@emmaelton8240 yes its with practice and you should use a rule to make the eyes equal likr you should do a line between the two ryed to make them equal
Thanks for watching this video! I hope you all are having a lovely weekend:)
Hope your channel is a success. Great tutorial once again... :)
Edit: Can I get a heart please... always wanted one
What pencil sharpener do you use?
@@eh8854 Most of the time I use a Faber Castell colour grip universal:)
Thank you. You are the best... :)
As always youre amazing. Could i ask you for a Lion King drawing, you know Mufasa and cub Simba, also a drawing of Scar? Please? 😆😆😆😆

Amazing artwork! Thank you so much for the explanation 😸
It's cool
Hey I've been following your channel for a while now... I just wanted to ask- How do you preserve/store your paintings?
store them in a cupboard with a piece of white paper on top :)
@@hanwong1919 ah. that's how it's done.
are the crayons you use watercolor or oil?
Awesome
how do you make your sketches? do you do the grid method, do you trace, or just sketch it. if you just sketch it do you have any tips? thanks.
where did you get this reference photo? i wanna follow along but i cant take a screenshot, thanks
you can download it from pixabay.com for free. I know it because I drew it too :) if you wanna see it, it is in my instagram account: @cansusart
Amazing

For real, mine is like now a wolf and its not like a cat and the hairs look so impossible to draw
Beautiful! When I do fur, my light color can make dark hairs I have already drawn smear and not be as sharp. How do I avoid that?
Amazing work! New subscriber for you.
Amazing 👍
your drawing videos a great.
Do you have tips on drawing white whiskers?
Can you make a vedio of comparison between Faber-Castell polychromos & luminance I want to know which is better in case of buying
What are the list of colors do you use and other materials
Could you suggest a different background for this cat other than white? Also, does the burnishing tool come in different sizes, or only one?
Great explanation but how do you get your proportions so accurate? Is it just lots of practice? I always end up with eyes of different sizes
Katywu Ste I struggle with the same thing. I seem to spend more time trying to accurately copy the reference image over everything else !
Emma Elton thanks for that, glad to know I’m not the only one struggling with proportions
@@emmaelton8240 yes its with practice and you should use a rule to make the eyes equal likr you should do a line between the two ryed to make them equal
Wow superbe 💞
Excelllent video! Do you use grid method in early stages or not necessarily?
Exelente!!!
Hi!! In which tier can I fin this beautiful tutorial?
The $7 one!:)
Could you explain how you use the embossing tool to create the whiskers?
I've made a video about it:) ruclips.net/video/1w5AX7S-wDQ/видео.html
