I love your plan! Have they considered digging out some of the grass and having a garden bed on the other side of the steps? That would make that area pop even more! And easier maintenance on the edging
Just a thought--perhaps making the two narrow sections have the same plants and the two wider sections contain like plants. To my mind it is going to be "busy" to the eye and also make for more work for the gardener with all those different types of flowers and plants in your sketch. I like the idea of black pots flanking the driveway.
I cannot believe I did not subscribe to your channel; I have been watching your video daily. Thank you, Courtney, for reminding us to subscribe. Happy Gardening!
It’s always fun to help a friend! Don’t forget the lantern by the front door, painting them is so budget wise! Love your ideas. I’ve never seen a purple lantana, I love it!
we all ask our friends to subscribe for you. I think that the bed is going to look great. When you paint the lantern be sure to prepare the surface correctly or the paint will peel. Plastic and metal use different techniques and primer. Have a wonderful weekend.
I love the garden bed plan that you are suggesting! I think it will be very vibrant and easy to maintain. Well done! Can't wait to see it come together.
Oh how fun! Love your mix of content, and your sunny personality. Great to see a neighborhood setting. I’ve added you to my mornings! I’m in SantaRosa Ca in 9b also, practically neighbors, lol! Yay, NoCA!
What a great video thank you so much for introducing us to Robbie I really love his ideas and the neighborhood giveaway of his plants what a great idea!!!!!
I like the gardening ideas. Just keep in mind that she has small children and a lot of those plants attract bees. I have a spanish lavender, it only looks good for a month and coleus in my zone 10 overwinters rather ratty. It will be exciting to see the space transform with the addition of colors. Happy plantings!
I think this was perfect timing, nothing like a little motivation to get you started on a project you’ve always wanted to do! Good job Andy 😂 I love the color scheme you’re going with! Are you going to keep more of the green and purple color coleus to continue with the theme?
You are such a great inspiration to all of us Gardeners! A lot of times it’s trail and error isn’t it? I live in the Midwest and we deal with a lot of squirrels that are brave enough to uproot some of my perinnials. You are such a great friend to help your friend! I love flowers and I love following your channel!❤️
Oh how fun. It’s going to be super cute. I’m wondering if brick instead of boards would match her home better. It would match the brick on the house and bring it down into her garden. I’m in Texas and well every home is brick lol. Ok. Not every home. I did this in my garden and it just looks lovely and brings the brick from my home into my yard. Just gorgeous. Just thought I would share 😊🌸
Congratulations on the new truck It’s actually so perfect! I have a hatchback that can fit a lot but nothing beats a truck, I inherited my dads 90s Toyota tacoma and I love it perfect size.
Funny! I always get nervous when I see family members with pruners or hedge cutters in hand! The trailing lantana does so well in our hot dry climate and probably would love that spot...How about more trailing lantana rather than (or along with the coleus) in that first bed to tie everything together (or a Homestead Verbena) My sun coleus was beautiful in the early summer, but gave up as the weather got hotter. 😎M
I love your plan Janey ,gorgeous!!I think it would also be nice to make a small garden bed on the side of the grass,I would of done that but maybe she doesn’t want that
Hi Janey 🌺what abeautiful project garden .The garden will be amazing with the new plants add to the plants list climbing rose and petonias in place the grass along the walking path . Have awonderful day . 🌺🌻🌺
I couldn't help but notice some other neighbors could use your input with their front yards 😊 I watch the enthusiastic garden in the UK, she has a gorgeous olive tree, it has a spiral trunk, she just did a garden tour if you'd like to see it, very small garden. Your choices will be lovely, look forward to seeing it over summer, we will see it...right 😊
I think this is just like good ol’ Bob Ross would say, "We don't make mistakes -- we just have happy accidents." 😂 seriously going to look great! Can’t wait to see the end result!
I would guess something tall would be in the way in that area....tree branches would be sticking out into the driveway and walkway. Just an added inconvenience to walk around.
I assume she has drip irrigation in those beds? I’m in zone 9b and would worry that the coleus (even sun coleus) would suffer in my garden. Choosing low maintenance bullet proof plants is wise. She’s a busy mom and wants simple. Charcoal accents with “sharpen up” the area. This will be a fun project! Love the idea of making it as affordable as possible. 👍
It would be cool to do the other side. of the walk way the same way. If you Cut into the grass on the otherside the side walk will really sand out. Then add in solar powered lights all down the steps.
I wish I had a friend like you to help with my small areas. I am on some FB groups for my area but have not been able to connect with anyone. I hope you do videos of the progress and completion of your friends area.
I like coleus. Do they really go with purple? It has some burgundy kind of color. (?) Maybe with the right one. My color theme this year is purple pink orange and chartreuse. I LOVE color!!! Your design is fabulous.
This will be a huge improvement! Do you think the olive tree might look a little bare with nothing below it? Maybe repeat the sedum as a groundcover under the olive tree? And I'm glad you mentioned about painting the lights -- I was thinking the same thing. What a budget saver and a great way to create cohesion and a more modern accent.
Does this count towards your community hours of service for the Master Gardener's program?? I enjoy your videos and I always hit the like button. I figure that is my way of saying thank you.

@@allison471 , same!
I love seeing your friends, families and neighbors in your videos! Everyone is so friendly, supportive and enthusiastic about gardening!
This is going to be exciting to see the transformation. 🌱 ☀️ 🌳 😁
Can’t wait to show you all soon!
Very interesting -- gardening emergency, happens to me all the time. Awesome video --have a great weekend :)
Look at you!! Landscape designer in the making! This is going to be a great transformation.
Haha! I wonder if that Coors in his hand had anything to do with the prune job. 😂😂😂 The plan looks great!
Haha no it was a La Croix 😆 Thanks Linda!!

This will be fun to watch the transformation. Your petunia wall behind you is stunning. My eyes kept getting drawn to it. Love the black pot idea.

Andy was just trying to ‘Simplify. Simplify.’
I need neighbors like janey too
Janey to the rescue! Your ideas are lovely. Can't wait to see it all come to life! 💜💜 Linda

Oh I can't wait to see the outcome!
Sometimes it takes something drastic to happen to push us into those projects we've been putting off😅😅
It’s so true Jocelyn! I’m so excited for this space and to share what we do with it!
What a great video thank you so much for introducing us to Robbie I really love his ideas and the neighborhood giveaway of his plants what a great idea!!!!!
I am excited about your plan! I am eager to watch it evolve.
Me too Ruth!
Sounds beautiful can't wait to see the progress.

Love love love this kind of content!! Because it gives me inspiration and new eyes on my own projects. Thank you Janey!
Looks like the kids play out there too, and I think your plant choices will hold their own.
I can't wait to watch!!!
Love the plan Janey!
Thanks Sandra! I think Courtney is going to be super happy!!
Nice plans! It will look great!
It sounds like a great plan. Her Dad was a good sport about the hedge. I’ll look forward to seeing it completed❤️
Can’t wait to show you all Jean!
Congratulations on the new truck It’s actually so perfect! I have a hatchback that can fit a lot but nothing beats a truck, I inherited my dads 90s Toyota tacoma and I love it perfect size.
Keep up the good work
Great plan!!! You so rock!!!!!
Aww, thanks Judy 😊
Can't wait to see it finished Hugs Bonnie
What a fun project 🍃🌸🍃
Great job!
You do have a good imagination, she should really be amazed when done ... want to see when finished
I will for sure be sharing the results! Can’t wait 💗

Your channel is very informative. Remembering all the plants name..keep up the good job

Living the dream! I love your design!! Can't wait to see the transormation!
Can't wait to see it all done...it will be beautiful. 😊
I'm so excited to see how you guys will make it look
You will definitely see the results!!
I love your ideas for the planting along the steps. How about adding some lighting along the pathway leading to the door?
That would be a great idea!
Love your design process - super helpful!
Only thought would be to add some complementary colors like yellow to make all the purple Pop 🎉
That’s a nice idea!
I think this is just like good ol’ Bob Ross would say, "We don't make mistakes -- we just have happy accidents." 😂 seriously going to look great! Can’t wait to see the end result!
So pumped to show them to you all!
Go for grasses for a modern look. Plus, it's low maintenance and as she wants interesting foliage, fine foliage next to Big leaves IS gorgeous 😊
That’s a nice idea!
I would guess something tall would be in the way in that area....tree branches would be sticking out into the driveway and walkway. Just an added inconvenience to walk around.
Janey, my wife and I are eagerly waiting to see the reveal.. Have you posted it yet?

I will definitely show you the results Kay. Keep at it, I’m sure your gardening tribe is out there 💗
Well. If u want to pop across the water and come to the U.K. to re design my garden that would be great 😂.
Those hedges should have been pulled out years ago
I like coleus. Do they really go with purple? It has some burgundy kind of color. (?)
Maybe with the right one. My color theme this year is purple pink orange and chartreuse. I LOVE color!!! Your design is fabulous.
That gardening emergency has turned into a big project. How fun is that?
Super fun for me 😉

Definitely something to consider Annaka! Thanks 💗
Wld you kindly share the vine pink/white blossom plant behind you (sitting in ur yard)
That’s her wall of supertunias, they are planted in hanging bags.
Janey, which is your favorite Green Acres location? i am looking forward to the transformation of your friend's garden area!
Honestly, they are all incredible spaces. I usually shop Elk Grove and Roseville though.
@@DigPlantWaterRepeat Thank you, Janey!
Looks good. Will that olive tree block the house numbers?
Question- I am also in zone 9b and am wondering if the sun coleus you have grown do not fry in our summer heat. 🤞🏼
Does this count towards your community hours of service for the Master Gardener's program?? I enjoy your videos and I always hit the like button. I figure that is my way of saying thank you.
Thank you so much for that Ann and of course for being a part of this community 💗
Where are you getting Supertunias in the Sacramento area? I’m having a hard time finding them!
Jejeje viva usa
Janey put me on your list for garden improvements. I live in Gold River 9b, SHADE garden and I need help. I need your help. Please…😅
