Starwatch is the NEWEST gamemode in Overwatch 2, Capture points return but with 4 POINTS this time. There are PvE elements like a NPC Doomfist and turrets... and that's it... BUT AT LEAST LUCIO GOT SOME COOL VOICELINES!

Allow me to introduce myself, I didn't pick Mercy until OW1
Ppl say its unbalanced for defender, but I've won every Watcher game and lost every Infinite game
I don't get why one team gets the leader of their faction as a playable character while the other gets an AI lmao
Someone at Blizz really thought a S76+Mercy would be equivilent to an Ashe+Lucio like. Literally at this point cannot even pay me to believe anyone at Blizz plays their own game
Yeah the attacking team has barely any team synergy outside of Bap playing well with Ashe/Torb since they're both DPS that like to poke (but that strategy is significantly easier to execute on defense for most people.) Lucio with the two most mobile tanks against some of the most high DPS heroes in the game is wild lmao. Like I understand the teams were decided because of the skins, but my god couldn't they have done something for the attackers besides giving them Bonebreaker who will relentlessly feed ult charge for the entire game? Attacking team would legitimately be better off without him. I've yet to see him get a single kill
If you have your Tank go around them (Doom AI always follows Tank until fighting/retreating )they make great duo flankers, once turrets are gone it's easy to 5v4 them

I would like to point out that both teams pretty much entirely rely on their support, which has no second support to peel for them. If you have a support, and they don't, you win. So the strategy is pretty much always to dive the support and murder them without getting your own support killed. Now look at the support and tank options, and basically the entirety of the Watchers are built for this strat, right down to the extra doom they get. Combined with the fact that if you're fast enough, you can take out the turrets and get on the point before the Infinity bois even respawn, I feel like watchers have a big advantage.
Also, btw, in the same vein, on the last point, if they give you the mission to capture the leftmost side, it's pretty much an instant win. You go left and take out the single turret in there and body block until you cap point.
FYI there are several possible places for the turrets and point which are shuffled around for each match meaning that some times there could be more/less turrets or the point could just be somewhere else

Randomised antigrav is super rough for ball, winton and lucio but does basically nothing to sig/dva/mercy. Team comps are chosen so badly lol.

the fact sojourn and dva dont have unique icons is CRAZY to me
I was so hyped for this mode but it lost my interest REAL QUICK super bummed but the theme is cool at least
The fact that defense gets sig mercy and bastion with like 8 turrets on that final point all looking at each possible entrance where of course a couple grav modules are placed is just the dumbest fucking decision any dev made ever. That last point is essentially a 8v4.5
Unless you get left side then it's a free win.

I got lucky my forst 2 games on attack, won both, didnt realise till after first game that the people i was shooting were other players, i legit thought they were npcs, and not cause they were bad, just didnt know

Honestly it's pretty challenging to win in attack. I win maybe about 70% of the time. Defense on the other hand I haven't lost once and have even got to the final point maybe 3 times max.

Tbh I've had much more success on Lucio. Being able to ult and steam roll then being able to boop people off point have been really valuable.

The true problem of this mode is only the rebeld have a npc character & one who going help alot if players can choice & the AI is not the best , plus the empire characters are really more powerfull.... Compared to the choices in rebel , its a really cool mode ideia but the balance is crap. In resume is 3 vs 4 plus the empire side have better Characters
I main Mercy. I have made groups leave lobby after not being able to make it out of the spawn room for hours on end to prove a point.
A good Mercy completely unbalances this mode.
And one team ONLY having 2 dps to choose from; A sniper and torb with useless turrets, if THIS was the preview of PVE mode to come? AND we would have to pay money to access it?

If you think Torb's turret is useless then you're using it wrong. Also, Overload is one of the most broken abilities in the game. The thought of Tracer having it instead of Recall send shivers down my spine lol.

If i didn't know any better I'd say the OW devs WANT the Infinite empire to win this event so they purposely put all the good dps, tanks, and supports on that side and put the rest on the Watchers team and took up one of the spots with Doomfist/Bonebreaker BUT made his A.I. kinda dumb....I mean seriously all he does is jump in, block, go for a punch (leaving himself open), then die in that order/pattern. Effectively feeding the opposite team a well cooked meal....
i've played a couple games as the rebels and won but you really gotta play as baptiste in order to win. but yeah it's so fucking unbalanced for watchers and skewed for the empire. idgi
Wierd to see people thinking Lucio is unplayable in these comments. I've found him way easier it win with (with or as healer.)
