Andy, you’ve got to do more episodes of bar rescue. 😊. You are one of the funniest people. You really have been one of the best and thoughtful people I’ve seen in the last couple of years. I mean it man. Thank you, thank you very much.
Bar Rescue just recently shot an episode at my weekly dive (The Airliner), I don't think the episode has aired yet but the bartenders told me they called the guest host "Temu Taffer". I've been in twice since the renovations, and they really just stripped it of any identity, added a blue coat of paint, and an extra paper towel dispenser in the men's room. Of course they're beyond packed now every day of the week cause of the aura of "Bar Rescue". Few cooks walked out, bartenders always stressed to tears, they didn't seem to actually "improve" anything.
That’s one of my biggest problems with Bar Rescue ngl. It’s easy to “fix a bar” with a fresh coat of paint and flashy new tech, but it’s not so easy to “fix” management and employees; if anything, you’re making things WORSE behind the scenes by giving the employees a ton of new elements to upkeep. It’s no surprise a lot of the Bar Rescue bars go under later on.
@15oClock a worthy challenge indeed! Unfortunately, I wish I were lying. I attempted to get in while they were shooting, drove by and saw the line, asked a security guard who told me first 50 people get in, and that's it. Line was longer than the building itself haha. But it's seemed to die down a bit as of my last visit two weeks ago.
John reminds me of a grape, I feel like if we let him sit out too long he’ll shrivel up, which is why there’s so many seasons of bar recuse, he has to be yelling at someone
I've never really cared for Phil. He's overly serious without the camp needed for the show. I enjoyed Danny Trejo's episodes specifically because he's just an old man yelling without knowing why.
The same thing happened to the Kitchen Nightmares 2023 reboot. It felt dumbed down and unbelievably boring. There was only one episode where Gordon really laid into the owners.
Well i mean if you saw the British version he isn't actually that pissed off at anyone. I mean he does show he is mad but he aint going to yell at someone and that version is much more popular and more interesting to watch. Yea it nice to see gordon yelling and throwing fits at the owners who deserve it but it just doesn't feel like he is teaching them how to be better at improving their own business compared to British verison. What i am saying the reboot is trying to give British version of a much more mature and relax feeling then original screaming yelling at you verison that we grown accustomed to as a way to try to be different and yet familiar. To really show gordon who he really is. Chief who loves good food and wish for people to do better.
@@evandaymon8303 I couldn’t agree more. They should have rebooted Kitchen Nightmares U.K. It was an entirely different and honestly, superior show. No stupid theatrics or obnoxious and gratuitous sound effects to poorly underscore the mostly manufactured tension. It was literally just a show about a Michelin Star Chef, going into failing restaurants across the U.K. and fixing them by showing mostly competent but ultimately misguided people, what they were doing wrong and teaching them about what they can do to make things right. Changing things for the betterment of the restaurant and the people running it. Rebooted KN U.S. feels like a knockoff version of the previous show, but done poorly and without much care, as they seem to have this belief that if they just stick to the tried and true formula of the old show, everything will simply fall into place and it unfortunately doesn’t. Almost always falling short of the success of the original Kitchen Nightmares U.S. show.
@@cyber_runner What if he was just in the background of every shot with John in it, sort of like John's cardboard cutout behind Andy? But actually there
My personal take; I feel like when Bar Rescue aired their Pandemic season from 2021 and onward, I feel that most of the people they're helping now tend to be good hearted w/ more of a head on their shoulders than previous season owners. This makes it harder to justify punching people down, when there is no justifiable ego & copious amounts of toxic pride large enough to confront and question to begin with, making for less drama. One could say that the older show producers could have been more inclined to play up the 'reality show' elements to make people act more outlandish in order to have more dramatic elements present for the show, but I doubt that's the case with Bar Rescue. I also believe that the current economy and cultural climate has changed a lot just in the past decade alone, leaving a lot less wiggle room for people in business to have the privilege and luxury to be emotionally vulnerable and charged now, as compared to previous owners in older episodes where the economy, while not great, was less stressful compared to now, currently forcing most people to keep their head above water when managing their workload. This day and age is way more strict and competitive, where numbers now mean more than ever about a person's survival. People take on more jobs just to get by, as a result, People need to be more emotionally articulate and self managing to survive, which would lend to a higher percentage of owners more likely to be self reflective and owning up to responsibility, which would also lend to less drama. That, and I believe most people are just way more burned out today than previously, and are less keen to be overly dramatic, let alone have the energy to do it.
@@krismckasson I'd imagine there are tons of Bar Rescue fans who have never heard of that interview, I know I hadn't until watching these videos. No idea what the percentage is tho
I also feel like there’s been a shift in the audience, too. Since the pandemic, more and more people are becoming aware of the struggles that service workers face (stress, bad working conditions, income, dealing with rude customers, etc); because of that, I wouldn’t be surprised if this knowledge tarnished the conceit of “cartoonishly angry man screams at service workers” and left people uncomfortable with the concept. The current economic climate essentially forced business owners to take their jobs more seriously and most people are now more forgiving toward employees, so there’s really no way for Bar Rescue to be what it once was unless they want to falsify everything.
It feels like if AI tried to script a Bar Rescue video. Like “bar owner says something mildly disrespectful, Jon get angry.” Or “Three people in a ‘van’ sit around a screen critiquing bar performance”. Where’s the flavor??

Bar rescue needs to find some bars that are extremely dysfunctional, like the staff drinking, marriage being on the line, a rude owner, an owner in a large amount of debt, fights breaking out. Speaking of alcohol and bars, today after an academic advising appointment, I went to my university's bar. It was around noon and it was really hot outside, so I original went in for some water. Instead I got myself a shot of vodka with 7-up. I like more flavor in my drinks than that, but never asked for anything and didn't think to het any other soda. I had a small orange Freezee with me (it was melted), so I mixed it in. It was actually pretty good. I think now I'm just going to stop using any ice in drinks like that and just use a Freezee.
Slaw is drenched in sauce, though. Putting slaw on a sandwich is a way of applying sauce that gives the whole thing a better texture by incorporating it w/ the veg toppings.

I showed my brother Bar Rescue for the first time. He binged the entire first season and later when it came on the TV he said "I need Jon Taffer, Jon Taffer is my bubba." and now he's buying the life-size cardboard stadee lol-
King (I'm going to call you King now because that's what you are a King), I don't know why but I absolutely love the bits you now do in your videos with the grainy quality and compressed audio. I don't know why, but it is something that I have come to love when watching your content, and I can't even explain it. Maybe it's the warm nature of the grain, maybe it's the seemingly low production quality, or maybe it's because it feels like I'm watching someone's home video that they made for future generations to maybe stumble upon. Regardless keep it up, and keep making the quality content you do.
I really have to agree. Something has felt off with the show. It's just losing some sort of that pop or punch it once had. Where's the house shitting on the bar floor? Or the pirates who can't stop acting like they're the Jolly fucking Roger? Things have just settled now to the point of, yeah, lots of bars are failing and falling apart. Not necessarily any major bad business decisions or drama, just...economy isn't the greatest, people's habits change, businesses ebb and flow. So now John is just visiting (or sending his cronies to visit) sad bars. And it makes me feel sadder. But I still watch it.
I used to live right next to one of the bars featured in this season in St. Augustine, FL. They started filming right after I fled the state. I haven't seen the episode. But as far as I know, that bar wasn't in any trouble, and for many locals it's their favorite spot to get a steak. So... whatever that says about Bar Rescue, I don't know! Anyway, I really like the cutaway B plot bits you've been putting in the videos.
Andy King, I have never heard of you before watching this video. I'm not sure why RUclips decided to recommend this video. I'm a boring person who will just rewatch the same few videos a thousand times so I'm not sure why I watched this video but I did really like this. Gonna subscribe, gonna go watch more of your videos. I was very pleasantly surprised. Thanks for giving me more stuff to watch.
Just some genuine feedback. The "Andy" intro goes on a BIT too long. It's aesthetically pleasing for sure but I feel like it shouldn't be longer than like 4 or 5 seconds
When season 9 of Bar Rescue is finished you should do a season 9 recap and a final thought if Bar Rescue should be axed/cancelled or take an hiatus anyway something for you to consider for a video
It wasn’t a bad video. I COMPLETELY agree with you about this season just not being the same without John. I’ve been disappointed. There was a cool part with the audio, like you were directly in my left ear.
Fried chicken sandwiches and chicken burgers came in clutch when I was landscaping a few summers ago, with a big glass of lemonade. Definitely could get a lot of business with a good chicken sandwich
I feel like Danny is just an old man that doesn’t understand what’s happening but is glad to be there. The way he yelled at the guy definitely seemed to come off a script and it was hilarious. I loved him. He was the best thing about this episode
MikeMGTV collaboration when? You both have eccentric, fun personas and I think the two of you trying the most complex cocktails featured on Bar Rescue would be cool to watch!
5:52 No joke I had a customer interaction almost exactly like this when I worked at Subway. The only response I could think of was "This is just what I sound like."
Yeah. I get the same sometimes too. I think it’s because I naturally sound like that and because I don’t put on a fake persona, so people get angry over that? I don’t know, it’s weird
So does anyone want to explain why and how both Kitchen Nightmares AND Bar Rescue both have that off, very uncanny valley vibe now? And I hated how harsh it was before, I'm all for a kinder tone, but it seems...very liminal and strange, it's hard to explain, but both of these shows seemed to suddenly flip to...whatever this is at the same time
i enjoyed this vid andy! i think it's very valid to not like everything that comes from the media you love and hearing you talk about what you did and didn't like about it is interesting.

One of my favorite things to do is check up on bars that were on Bar Rescue. Within a year, the overwhelming majority of them have either reverted back to their original concept or just closed altogether.
BABE WAKE UP BAR RESCUE JUST DROPPED
Why do people say this "babe wake up" nonsense. It honestly sounds like the banter of a really gross co-dependent couple that sit around in their sweaty boxers all day. 😂
@@Bonserak23 idk cuz it's a harmless joke
Dude! Next idea: Bar Rescue Rescue. A special episode of Bar Rescue where they bring Andy in to try to save the show.
“Big w cattle co.” Is an absolutely terrible name for a bar. If I didn’t know it was a bar I’d think it’s a store selling cattle equipment or some shite. Terrible name.
I live in a farming town, work in agriculture, and. yeah. lmao. there are literally supply shops named smth like that around here. because that's how you name livestock stores. not bars

After you mentioned that they couldn’t possibly be in that truck I can’t stop seeing it and I’m enraged
i love the departure in the middle for a shower burger review-“they say that you should a burger, and they say that you should eat it again” truer words have never been spoken
Bar Rescue without Jon doesn’t work. It’s his show, he’s the star. People watch Bar Rescue mainly for him. He is the driving force of the show. Maybe unfortunately this is the downfall of Bar Rescue if Jon’s started to be phased out
LETS FUCKING GOOO ITS BAR RESCUE DAY
Cover the episode “Ice, Mice, Baby” in season 5. It’s a fun episode, and features something BR has done only once thus far.
Honestly, as an Umbrella Academy stan still recovering from the trashfire finale, I feel your pain, dude.
Also, I know that Danny Trejo being there makes little to no sense, but I just love him so much in general that i can't be mad about it
oh no i havent seen it yet is it that horrendous😭

I'm disappointed Danny Trejo decided to do Mr. Bircham. Like why dude? Why?

We can't watch bar rescue without our laffy John Taffy
Speaking of alcohol and bars, today after an academic advising appointment, I went to my university's bar. It was around noon and it was really hot outside, so I original went in for some water. Instead I got myself a shot of vodka with 7-up. I like more flavor in my drinks than that, but never asked for anything and didn't think to het any other soda. I had a small orange Freezee with me (it was melted), so I mixed it in. It was actually pretty good. I think now I'm just going to stop using any ice in drinks like that and just use a Freezee.
25:20 AIN’T NO WAY THEY CENSORED “YELL”
Slaw is drenched in sauce, though. Putting slaw on a sandwich is a way of applying sauce that gives the whole thing a better texture by incorporating it w/ the veg toppings.
Never seen a black guy with mutton chops on a looooong time 😂😂😂
My dad was Fred "Review Smash Burgers in the Shower" Wilsonson, so I've seen that quite a bit, thank you
how are we supposed to believe giant john can just stand up and walk out of a van??

They’re clearly looking for a new host and I think Phil is the pick since he’s done a bunch of rescues
announcer literally sounds like AI @ 4:55
Sounds like the voice for burger king
Phil doesn't have the gravitas that Jon does, he can't pull it off. Him pouring water on the money was unconvincing bravado.
BAR RESCUE TIME
Ah yes nothing like getting a chicken sandwich at a place called BIG W CATTLE CO. Chicken is my favorite cattle.

As someone from jacksonville, i got actual whiplash when they said they were in jax, because while it's a big city it's not often mentioned.
And andy's right, jax is the perfect place for a bar rescue ep
The fact that I don’t like the show but only andy’s commentary says a lot about why I’m here so early
Love the style! And thx for allowing us to be the first people to watch a someone eat a smash burger in a shower!
I showed my brother Bar Rescue for the first time. He binged the entire first season and later when it came on the TV he said "I need Jon Taffer, Jon Taffer is my bubba." and now he's buying the life-size cardboard stadee lol-
I've never understood that rule where you have to smile when shaking a drink. I think everyone looks like e fucking psycho.
I mean I probably would but that's just cuz it seems fun
King (I'm going to call you King now because that's what you are a King), I don't know why but I absolutely love the bits you now do in your videos with the grainy quality and compressed audio. I don't know why, but it is something that I have come to love when watching your content, and I can't even explain it. Maybe it's the warm nature of the grain, maybe it's the seemingly low production quality, or maybe it's because it feels like I'm watching someone's home video that they made for future generations to maybe stumble upon. Regardless keep it up, and keep making the quality content you do.
As soon as I get off my game this gets posted
straight up same
I really have to agree.
I think you meant horse
@supersmashseandx1991 horse, house...something should shit on a floor.
@@psfilmsbob at the end of the day what's the difference between the two? *Really*?
I wasn't prepared to give up the consistency of John's rage-to-rebuild arcs. I must mourn the loss of these reliable father-figure melt downs.
Why does Phil look like that Halloween cereal with the ghost 😭
Oh my god, he does and now I can’t unsee it
I love your videos, Andy. Please don’t disrupt the space time continuum and prevent your own birth.
You fled the state?
After this video, I totally understand why Gunnar has a crush on you.
Highly recommend the other Bar Rescue videos. The one with Ted is gold!
@feliciascorner9795 Watching the playlist now but thank you so much.
Bar rescue AND pizza. What a perfect day
Pizza buddies! 😂
Just some genuine feedback. The "Andy" intro goes on a BIT too long. It's aesthetically pleasing for sure but I feel like it shouldn't be longer than like 4 or 5 seconds
I was just looking for the past 10 minutes for a video to watch while getting ready to go out... BAR RESCUE!!!!
When season 9 of Bar Rescue is finished you should do a season 9 recap and a final thought if Bar Rescue should be axed/cancelled or take an hiatus anyway something for you to consider for a video
Taking Jon out of Bar Resuce is stupid. That would be as dumb as taking Gordon Ramsay off Kitchen Nightmares.
Phil Wills cardboard cutout when?
Okay but I wouldn’t mind if we brought Danny back because he’s low key unintentionally hilarious
The vhs segments sound much better now! Good job! :)
Andy I would like to formally request for more random ass food reviews. Thank you Mr king.
honestly... i dont think a burger can have too much sauce. sue me........
Wow you hit my algorithim in one minute, and im not even subscribed. You win. I subbed
Oh shiiiit bro the production quality is getting better and better. Good looks bro👍
John Taffer will always be my favourite human frog on TV
*ANALOG HORROR TITLE CARD*
Alternate version of Bar Rescue is "Tavern Help" 😂😂😂
Kyle is my older brother and EASILY the most likable person on the planet! Thanks for the awesome shout out. ✌🏽
Also just trying to throw raw mushrooms on top of a burger???? Sir. No.
18:19 I just realized those are tattoos on his head, I thought he had some fucked up baby hair pattern going on, high key wish it were
17:45-17:59 This is a very chill bar. Lot of people in these shots just calmly smiling.
This is a Complete Failure? ok man.
Idk why but John saying “HORSE upside down” got me 😂
andy i’ve been craving 7th st burger for the longest and when you pulled that burger out i was like that better not be 7th street burger that looks like 7th st burger and then it was and now i guess i have to download uber eats again
John Taffer is an American Treasure. We need him far more than he needs us. We should all strive to be exactly like Mr.Taffer.
Both Jarvis and Andy post today (Not to mention both my favorite series) 😎 great day
14:57 no such thing as too much cheese sorry brother you’re just wrong
"Shout out 7th St. Burgers. Give me free burgers" lmao yes
