  • Descended from Sid Millward's Nitwits, N&B appearing here at the Tyne Theatre, Newcastle perform some of their crazy musical routines. Band members are (l to r) Tony Traverci (professor Nuts), Tom Shand (Dr. Bolts), Cyril Lagey (consultant), Ron Regan (special assistant). The act toured UK, Europe, USA for 30 years.

    saw these guys whilst i was stationed in BAOR in the early 1980s they were touring entertaining the troops. Great blokes off stage and top pros on it. Brought back some memories.

    Just saw them on the good old days on bbc4,superb.surely theres room on tv for this type of show ,no panel, no phone in, no out of work celebs ,just pure variety.

    Brilliant and original act. I saw them in the 1970s in Blackpool. 35 years later I get to see them on You Tube!

    ME AND OUR LASS SEEN THEM AT SUNDERLAND BOILERMAKERS ABOUT 1977/78.

    A whole lot of classic Spike Jones going on! Well done stuff, never heard of them before, and I have been a fan of this sort of thing since the 1950s...

    I had the fun of accompanying these guys in cabaret a few times in the 70s ........didn;t realise Tony was Francis Traversi's the Llandudno sign writers brother. happy days

    Sheer joy! Oh how I wish we still had this type of act today, instead of the current endless stream of sound alike, plastic "celebrities".

    Ron Regan was my landlord and I shared the upstairs bathroom with Professor Nuts. Ron! Your Gas boiler was well dodgy but provided hot water for us. One day the Gas man came to inspect it and said he ought to decommision it. I begged him not to figuring that you'd take 50 cold baths to replace and change. Happy days. Hi Ron.

    Saw them at the Nash club Thornaby,they were brilliant.Shortly afterwards I read in the paper that after appearing at some venue their van was stolen and as it contained all their equipment they decided to call it a day.Sad.
