Good morning Gary!! A happy Sunday to you!! Can't believe you forgot the tackle box Dude 🤣🤣🤣 I suppose you were so excited about going it just slipped your mind completely. Looks like fun to me. I love any kind of watercraft or boat, because I love being on the water. I can see those pesky bugs flying all around the camera...I hope you used repellent??
Hey Gary, you surprised yourself how well you handled the kayak, good job 👍 Should be lots of fun fishing or just in the water. Enjoy. I really enjoyed this new toy of yours.
I too was waiting! I hate canoes!! I’ve been in one and my husband laughed at me cause my knuckles were blue from hanging on!! I wouldn’t get in that thing if Bigfoot was after me! I’d just surrender!! Lol
I have a pelican motion 100x, which is the same as a sentinal minus the aft storage crate. I also have the same paddle and you are using yours upside down. the water notches do work to minimize the water flow down the paddle and into your boat.
The problem with the paddle drip rings is that the paddle blades themselves have grooves designed to stop water. Some of the water never makes it to the rings. I found that the grooves actually sling water onto you instead. Also you have the rings right next to the blades. They go in the water on the stroke and water gets on the shaft behind them and can fall back on you. You need a paddle long enough so that on the stroke the blade goes into the water almost completely, with no shaft going below the surface. The drip rings need to be spaced back up the shaft away from the blades several inches. About a hand width is good for me. But they also still need to be spaced close enough to the blades so that when one blade is in the water and the other in the air, the lifted ring is not over the kayak, and any water that hits the rings falls off outside the kayak. If the paddle is too short then the water will be shed over top of the kayak instead and it falls on you. The blades themselves need a smooth edge without a groove in it. Water will track along the edge of a smooth blade and run down the shaft until it hits the drip rings, and then drip off back into the lake. So all this means that you need a paddle that sheds water correctly to start with, and is the right length for your kayak width and your stroke, and you need to practice your stroke so that you don’t lift the paddle too high and get wet anyway. You don’t want the stroke to be too shallow either or you don’t get any power from the stroke. For me, in a kayak of this size I found the Aqua Bound Manta Ray paddle in 250cm length to be just perfect. Super light weight paddle, very sturdy, and the drip rings are keeping me dry.
Hi Gary must admit I was holding my breath for a minute but no worries you were fine and enjoyed the ride also the peace and tranquility of the journey ..👍🇬🇧
Your kayak reminds me of my loon (OK, I commandeered it from my husband). It's called a decked canoe, but it's very kayaky. I'm told the guy who invented it traveled 28,000 waterway miles in it. My source also tells me loons/monarchs are no longer made, he thinks. I love my loon. My smartass source claims it was made for me. Sounds like you will enjoy your vessel as well
Gary - I really like the openness of your kayak. No crawling into and maneuvering out the hole. I invested into the same type and really like the foot positioner. From Amazon...I also invested in floating, waterproof Heeta bag. I have the 40L=$26 for gear and mega room(lunch, drink, bug juice waterbottle, extra comes with phone case with hook to attach in kayak For camera, lens, even tripod use CADeN waterproof DSLR/SLR with laptop compartment 15.6" floating backpack $40-54(even one for a drone, too). Swear by these 2 waterproof and floaters!! Not too bad in $$ for general wetness, paddle splashing and any tipovers. Where's your life jacket? I looked at your video a 2nd time and saw your vest on. Forgive me I will try to be more observant!Be safe and great kayak adventures.
Gary... you have to put your Crocs into "4 wheel Drive" when you go off roading like that hahaha ... have to put that strap around the back of your heel!!! Can't wait to see the Kayak in action!
New toy,I like it and now you have access to whatever part of the open water you want!my friend got pulled all over our local lake by a big catfish once still laugh about it!!thanks Gary!😁
If you got weeds and water near that 10ft mark, you got pickerel. That area looks especially pickerely at dusk. I have a technique that slams pickerel in that situation, but it's using gear nobody would ever consider. Great video and it looks like fun!
Hey hands free Gary, Boys and his toys..Great kit., all kitted out.Socks and clogs, kayaking lol hahaha, really ..Looking good on river, on/off ...Looks stable , Hands free Gary, Love kayaking, canoeing ❤...I think a new series of Gary transcending on the Kayak, Gary Kayaking fishing trip, spirit box Kayaking with Mr Reed, you catch my drift ..Nice Gary doing some paddling , hands free lol, give your arm a rest ..We forget stuff with all the new equipment..I have seen plenty of Kingfishers , beautiful when you catch them..Happy Kayaking, cycling trips ❤😃
Hi Garry. Do you mind me asking how tall + heavy you are? I am considering buying the exact same kayak. I currently have a 12.5 ft long pedal kayak that I leave on the dock at cottage but would like to travel to different lakes + rivers + at 68 years old loading my big kayak on roof racks is no longer an option. PS - does any water come in scupper holes? Thanks
Sure Judy...$15,000 in the paypal donation jar aughta do it....I'm glad one of us is rich...😉😉🤠 oh and I do have a fishing boat...I use it on the channel lots...
I'll be honest Gary! I was waiting for you to flip it!! 😂😂 No luck this time that is!! 😂🤣😂 I think it gonna bring you/us allot of fun times!! 🥳🥳🥳
I know...me too...its stable enough...even more than a canoe...so I think I'm good...
So cruel sandyc6569. But I was going to advise Gary to hold onto the name Titanic.
@@paulmackay2176 lol I wasn't being cruel!!

Is that the same as the pelican axiom xp 10
I think if it were 2 more feet longer..for cargo
Yeah...but then it wouldn't fit in my truck....so i'm fine with it being shorter...
Get a dry bag for your kit.
Yes on my short list...still researching what I want/need...
You the holding the paddle upside down.
