I just came across your channel while 'surfing.' I'd like to offer a few tidbits of knowledge: If in the future you intend to have any livestock, please get a donkey. Donkeys keep the coyotes away/protect your livestock. That's what many Aussies raising sheep and goats in the 'Outback' do. Having a homestead in a 'desert' area, you might want to investigate how others have 'regreened' their lands. There's a disabled man in Baja, Mexico (American-born) who explains how he changed his soil from basically sand to fertile soil. There are excellent videos on RUclips about how to keep the water from heavy rains on your property (Not in tanks!). Spraying weeds is treating your property poorly. You could burn them. Burning plants can be beneficial to your soil. On that note, adding charcoal to your soil is a very beneficial thing to do. Learning how to naturally keep pests away from your gardens would be much better than spraying. The man from Baha also talks a little about that. If I was using a wind-powered generator, I would use a different style of 'fan'. What you have is too heavy to be efficient. Plus, there are much better designs, some of which are simple to build.
We love the desert, too and are moving back after the first of the year. I cannot wait! All the critter noises I hear in your videos are a sweet reminder of what’s to come. Liking the project a lot ❤
Another cozy and wholesome addition to your home, lovely! Nice to see another vid from you, I see knee braces are in fashion in the comments here... take care of that so it can heal properly. I am off to hobble to the kitchen as I tore my right calf a couple of days ago. Sláinte
if you have an engineering shop where you live would take the complete top and {{1 }} get a new bearing pressed in and the shaft adjusted as they would have the know how and grease every few months also the pivot point watching from AU, have seen these with a small pump attached ,a scale of the deep ones in a bore, and a pond with water and the pump just lifted the water into a spray and returned to the pond looked great ,and birds were coming after a while to drink and lizards .
Continue to wear your brace for a couple of months. You will have to do physical training to strengthen it back to where it was. But continue to brace it.
That windmill is so cool! I wonder, do you think you could use it to generate some electricity for yourself? It sure looks windy enough and that would be free power for you. Hope your knee gets better soon. Maybe wear one of those elastic sports bandages to help stabilize it some more until you think it feels less fragile?
It's just ornamental but I have thought about whether it could power a water pump if I wanted to put a little water feature out there. But keeping water in it would be a struggle cause it would evaporate quickly. for now it's just for looks
Buy a good knee brace for awhile. I know, it looks dumb but if you twist that knee again it is gonna hurt like he double hockey sticks!!!! Ask me how I know.
I’ve been a subscriber, I dont always check, but occasionally I come to see the updates and I love it ! Nice job 👍

That windmill is so cute! You have such a great eye for what works with the desert aesthetic at your little homestead. ❤

Maybe you could put a mural on the rusty thing in the back, like an earthy scene with jack rabbits, road runner and such

The roadrunners are so entertaining.

You should paint it
I love it! Perfect ornament!
Add a thicker washer ,the cotter pin need to be tight to the bearing via a washer.
It looks so happy in its new spot :)

Looks great! Get a cheap neoprene knee brace and rusable ice packs. ice it lots. before and after doing work especially
I watch several home rebuilding/remodeling channels from China, and they play the same background music as yours.
It's the stuff RUclips provides so that you don't get copywrite strikes.
