This is a great video, thank you for all the research you have done on this subject. This year I have used Hobonichi Avec, Hobonichi weeks and Standard TN's. I think it would be wise for me to get some undated planners from Sterling ink, just in case I planner hop - which I did this year. I do find the weeks size and A6 the easiest for me to use on a daily basis. I can't believe I have become a notebook collector ........anytime I see one for a good price, I buy and put it a drawer 😁
I realised I did not need the daily planning section of the Hobonichi techo Cousin planner so I changed to the Take A Note for 2024. For 2025, I am going with the Jibun techo Days as there is more space for future planning.
Great video a lot to think about for sure and now so many options for us. Thank you for the breakdown. I think SI not doing preorders this year really helps a lot of people out. Less pressure. Fomo is real and it happened to me autumn of 2022. My first year in the planner community and I bought 4 different planners, all from different companies. I felt like I was the problem because I liked aspects of each but couldn't make any work (liked that size, this paper, those accessories, etc). Finally the hamster started moving the wheel and the lightbulb flickered on...they were all vertical layouts. And I personally preferred the standard size for planning. Halfway through 2023 I was nervous about my options for 2024 because I knew I wanted a full year, bound planner and the travelers standard size was my Goldilocks but who makes bound book planners in that size? I could only find inserts or undated blank "planner" notebooks. It's a beloved, but kinda niche size in adjacent/subgroup? in the planner community. There's a tendency towards either selective brand(s) loyalty or diy tinkering. Then Catherine announced her lineup at the end of last 2023 and when I saw her N1 size, I just knew! Maybe when I get more into journaling, I may decide to go for a different size for that? I get anxious when I think about journaling in the back of my planner so...no. I'll practice in my current unused notebooks first.😅 Sorry, my comments tend to be long and rambling, just excited!
I already committed to a 2024-2025 planner from walmart. I use the monthly calendar for future planning and my weekly for tracking. It's a little messy but it serves me well so far.
I love it. I have been going through all the steps since all the sneaks and release info started coming out. I thought maybe I would just bujo in my stash of notebooks, but I quickly realized I've become a paper snob lol. When it comes to my daily planning and journaling I just prefer TRP. So I'll have to use my stash for other things like just random things or book journals. I have the issue when it comes to size and portability. B6 is perfectly portable and I have a LARGE collection of covers/TN's so I feel like I have to use them. Although this year I fell in love with B6 slim in a major way and am leaning towards that for 2025, but there's this guilt about my B6 covers. OMG first world problems. I think everyone should be this intentional 🖤🖤
😂 Yes, lol at first world problems. But at least you're trying to be intentional about your planner choice. Have you thought about selling some of your covers? If you sold one or two of them, then you could use that money to buy a B6 slim cover.
They’re not getting rid of tomoe river paper (toh-moy-E river paper)…Hobonichi is just using a different form of it. It still exists in notebook paper form! Luckily!
Lol. I think that you took what I said the wrong way...It isn't going to be in its original form, therefore, essentially it is a different paper. Also, sometimes I pronounce TRP 100% right and sometimes I don't. I'm human, I make mistakes. Thanks for watching!
@@PlanYourOneLife You are all good! You’ll laugh, I hilariously fumbled Hobonichi at Yoseka the other day and totally goofed! (Cue the entire store giggling) I’m looking forward to seeing its new paper and seeing how it writes! I hope the old doesn’t completely disappear so we have something to compare to! :)

I'm glad to hear that.
Very detailed and helpful. Thank you

I'm thinking switching towards B6 😂 So if You get rid of Your covers, I'm here 😅
I will definitely keep that in mind!!!
@@PlanYourOneLife I may have to do that.
Very thorough video
Thank you!
