Quickstart Vocal Warm Up For Guys
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 11 ноя 2021
- In this video I show you how to get quickly warmed up before singing songs. This is much healthier than just starting out singing songs directly.
Quickstart Vocal Warm Up For Guys
I have been asked by many many vocalists if I would please do a video on a way to warm up your voice quickly.
This can be a dangerous exercise because we do not want to warm up or "wake up" the voice too quickly.
For those of you that do vocal warm-ups you'll know what I mean when I say that sometimes you start to warm up and it seems like a " Bad \Hair Day" for the voice and you can't seem to get it together.
This does not have to be the case.
If you have the time and can take the time to warm up the voice slowly, correctly and easily, the Voice will wake up correctly and you will find unbelievable consistency day in and day out.
But what about those days when you just don't have the time to take the time to warm up the voice more gently?
With these exercises, they will help you get up and running quickly and give you the ability to "start your day" for your voice.

I think it's absolutely honorable that even though you offer the online course, you share so much knowledge for free on RUclips so that people who can't afford the course can benefit from your experience. Thank you so much for this! Peace and love to you and your team
I couldn't agree more, Kevin. I did purchase his course, and wow...is it every worth it.
I bought and still use some of of the you tube vids because of the high quality info the Ken releases
Thank you for this
You are a true teacher, sir. God bless you!!! ❤
I met Seth Riggs a few years ago (just before the Michael Jackson Bad tour) he taught me the same kind of exercises. I am a Blues, rock, metal singer, you and he are in some ways similar but I feel like I relate with you better, thank you for helping me with these exercises it's really helping me enjoy singing again
Rowland. I know this is random but if you need beats hit me up
Ken's gift to the world through his free instruction is truly immeasurable. I've loved to sing all of my life. It was very important to me. My goal was never fame, it was always to sing better.
But I had such stage fright that performing was torture.
Ken's gjft has given me freedom of expression of my very soul!
I started singing Kareoke a few weeks ago and was invited to sit in with a live band in performance.
I realized that, when I sing in public, I am fully me just being me. We all have that right!
Now, no one has more fun than me when I perform.
Thank you from the bottom of my soul.
That's awesome! I'm so happy for you! Rock on!
My man, Ken Tamplin... a friend turned me your way when I told her I was desperate to improve my voice and, more so, my range. I watched your video, QuickStart warm up for guys... I followed along with you shortly afterward. the results are re-freaking- markable!! I quickly gathered together youR short videos where I felt I needed the most improvement... chest power, strong head voice, correct warm up. I understand beginners to the course are likely to find marked improvement come quickly at first... but it had been a few days after resting my voice to start from scratch, and... WOW Example: If I do the quick warm up before any song I normally sing, I immediately sing the song better than I ever had. I knew the importance of technic, but at 62 years old, I thought my ability was to far gone to save. I can't wait to find out what else you can teach me to do in the other small lessons. I can see I may become a full-time student to your courses and your weird sounds and extremely detailed instruction. Are you a genius? I do not know, but do you know how to show people the path to better vocals than they ever thought possible? Hell, yes you do. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR WORK AND TIME YOU''VE GIVEN TO THE WORLD OF MUSIC, SIR. AND IT IS VERY NICE TO MEET YOU, KEN.
Great to hear! Rock on! kentamplinvocalacademy.com/
Voice warm-up always before the performance.👍
But?????I'm a mesosoprano,Mr.Ken😄😄👍
Thank you very much The Best teacher of vocal technique in the world.Thank you Ken💫💫
Always great presentation.
Rock on🤘🤘🎸🎶🎙
I've done the warm up and my singing after that was better than anytime before. I love to sing but I never learned how to, so I only sing when I'm alone, not to hurt anyone's ears. Anyways, you've got my attention. Subscribed. I'll share my progress after some time. If it goes well and I find it's something that I'm getting good at, I'll 100% take part in your course. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience. 👍🏻
Enjoy the ride. It’s gonna be so good, I promise. I was really bad once, but you your good singing voice is just burried and you need to dig it up. Good luck
Update?
I do this warm up every time before singing anything seriously
Same here brother, after I started doing this my gigs got 10 times better 🤘🤘
Thank you, Ken, my voice feels so good after this. Easy and warmed up. Clear instructions, great material!
Hey Ken! Already calling for snow here in Michigan. Winter is coming. Have a rocking and safe weekend!🎧😎

I've learnt a lot from you.
It's been years m following you !
Now we have a band n yes we do rock n roll...
Thank you Ken for all your tutorials.

Awesome! Thank you!
Wow what timing.! This video appeared on my phone (because I subscribed to notifications ) first thing this morning. Just so happened I had an hour before work today to lay down a vocal track. So I did this along with you before recording it. It totally helped me prepare. Even after decades of singing this inspired me and works. Thank you Ken!
Thx Ken! I'm doing your stuff for a while, but it is so nice to have fresh content from you, and have an opportunity to sing along with you. No matter at which level you are, you can kinda tune your instrument with Ken.
Thank you so much, Ken! With every single of your warm up exercises, I discover new fields of vocal agility... Your method really seems to be incredibly effective!
Happy to help!
WOW! Ive been warming up with my Babies and didnt even know it! 😇
Thank you very much for this. Just want I needed! Your course has done wonders in the short time I've been doing it. I'm sticking to it for long haul and can't wait to hear what I will sound like in a few more months!
You can do it!
Funny story ken...i watched all of your channels tutorials and im just coming back cause i got used to kens voice and face😂😂
very helpful, Ken!!! I’m old but new to singing and performing. Thank you for posting them online for all to see. I wish I had your instruction decades ago!!! 😲😲😲(my singing face now!)
Ken, Very handy quick warmup especially when there's little time to get ready great advice thank you!
You bet!
Very nice, thank you!
By the way: My local singing teacher (opera singer) gave me very similar exercises. And also in general she gave me tips that are sometimes very similar to yours (open throat; first develop your chest register; first sing without distortion...). I take this as a good sign.
Thanks again, Ken. Your warm-ups are great to do while I am waiting for customers at work. Get ready to walk around the store and sing 😁
Quickstart my vocal, give it a start 🤟
Well that's soo cool Ken, i've been waiting for such video for a long time.
Thank you.
i am a baritone, your instructions helped me a lot even if i don't train everyday.
Now i can hit that G#4 & A4 in chest voice (mixed a little), it's soo cool.
Best regards.
Rock on!
this man has midas touch with his voice - everything he says or sings is just gold man
I was recently asked to sing Adele - When We Are Young. One tone lower than the original. (pretty high sing for male) But plus, without warming up, because there was no time for that. It turned out miserably. Many notes were fake. The voice was dry and the color of the voice was terrible. It was difficult to control the pitch. It all sounded miserable. And that's just because the vocal cords were cold. That was the last time I was persuaded to sing fast and instantly.
Lesson learned.
Amy Grant has a unique sound and might be great for an analysis video. Maybe a song like Lead Me On, Baby Baby, or Find a Way. Many blessings!
Thanks for the warm ups Ken and the tips and the walkthrough demonstrations always appreciate you doing these warm ups thanks for taking time to do these 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
My pleasure, Cade. Thank you!
My dog is only a few months old and he freaks out whenever I do these exercises 😂
Man Is so difficult to do that with the lips
( the first warm up exercise )
But with practice it is starting to come up a bit easier

It is way easier if you put your fingers to the side of each cheek
Hi Ken,
first of all thanks so much for this great video! I'm always doing this whole video twice before starting to work out with the course. I'm currently in volume one and stretching my chest voice as high as possible (currently managing A5 and even B5 sometimes)...I'm curios about the AH vowel when warming up....should I flip into headvoice or stay in chest for the AH....I'm flipping into head when doing the lip drill and the tongue exercise but I'm not so sure about the last one.
Thanks a lot and Take care!
Great warm-ups 👍 thanks Ken!🎙😎👊
The best on youtube. Huge improvement from doing this routine daily, especially as a warm up prior to singing. Thank you
Two years in Ken and I finally got inhalare down!
Wow! Thanks so much Ken. I’ve done the 7- note warmup when I was doing musical plays. We all did, before rehearsal. The (La) thing. But you bumped it up to twelve notes. That’s cool. I could follow that one no problem. Same with the tongue-humming thing. But the first one was like a lip vibration and I’m not sure how you did that. Sounded like a roll but maybe I misinterpreted it. Nevertheless, I couldn’t do it. I can do a tongue roll, like a Spanish (R) sound but your mouth was closed when you did that. What were you doing there?
Appreciate any advice. The rest of your warmup was fun and fairly easy. The beginning, I couldn’t tell where that sound was coming from.
I wasnt able to do it before working on my diaphragm support. Maybe you can work on that .(im a student too so dont take this suggestion too seriously)
Another amazing tool to add to the box! Respectfully always Ken
🙂
singing everyday since lockdown Thanks Ken
Awesome!
You Rock Ken 💯🎸⭐️
The commercial on you Tube are hilarious and ridiculous, just saying but Ken s vocal warm up are worth it!
Hey Ken , this may be a little bit of an odd question but when it comes to warmups should a singer always warm up the same way each day? Or do you alter your warmup depending on which song you’re singing and whether you need to access your high or low register more easily for that song?
You have to adjust your warmup accordingly.
@@kentamplin got it, thanks! 😊
Could you do a vocal analysis of Kurt Nilsen.
He won the only world Idol there was and have an incredible voice.
"You look like a Hobbit, but you sing like an angel" is a famous quote from the judges during world Idol😅
Thanks for the suggestion!
I sound like jar jar binks when i do the lip drill lol. Messa gonna be a good singer!
How do you guys do the lip trills and not get dizzy? I think my forms good, as far as I can tell idk. I just start seeing static in my vision after like 7 of them. The rest of the exercises are fine
Hi Ken. Is there an alternative exercise to lip trills? I find them nearly impossible to do, and all my energy and focus invariably ends up being devoted to maintaining a piss-poor trill instead of staying on pitch, not straining, etc.
Your question is a great conversation for the forum, please consider posting there, you'll get great feedback!

Sir Ken, what's the title of the song you sang at the last part? I really loved it.
tongue exercise should be renamed gene simmons exercise lol
Ken, this was a great warm up! Do you think you’ll ever do another one for guys that goes higher in range, or even head voice? Thank you!
Covered in my course. kentamplinvocalacademy.com/
I take it since this is my first few times doing this i wont be able to hit the higher notes.I am stuck at a certain limit and will keep at it.I cant do that unless i hold my lips to get that effect.
That's fine. If you keep doing this, eventually you won't need to use your hands, and the higher notes will come.
Ken - I am starting to gig again with an electric band and will be singing much louder than I have been used to doing acoustic gigs. Do you have any tips to get my voice in shape?

Hi happy holidays Ken I've a question
Robert plant was. Quoted as saying
After if he did any pre show warmups
He would mix together lemon juice and honey and drink this to coat his
Vocal cords have you ever heard of
Using this cocktail?
I sincerely don’t use any elixirs at all including honey and lemon etc.. Some people seem to like it, for me it just does nothing. I’m simply a filtered, room temperature water guy.
Ken these tutorials help alot, it helps me understand every exercise much better, I have the course and this expands on it so much more.... i am very happy with my results so far and hope to improve more whit all the youtube content.. thanks and explain us more :)
Glad to help!
@@kentamplin thanks always!!
Thoughts on pelvic floor support?
Loved it!
the tounge exercise reminds me of adam sandler in bed time stories. His tounge gets stung by a bee and has to give a presentation in front of the hotel board. Thankfully he has russel brands character as an interpreter lol.
That's where I learned it...
Have to make one for the ladies next!
Luv u Ken....as always !
Ahh man, im sad that im sick and i cant follow along with you...

Happy thanksgiving ken, great video as usually. I am a seasoned 80s rock singer for 30 years (I’m 57) now, my how time passes. Since getting back into singing after a 7 year hiatus, Your warm up vid above has helped me maintain my singing 3-4 times a week in two different bands. It has helped me warm up properly from what used to do and want to thank you for that. Would love for you to critique my singing. Can you accept wav files or mp4 files? Maybe use it in one of your vids? Lmk. Thanks Cos

That was awesome! 👍
I have found your videos to be very helpful, Ken! Truly a wealth of information. Can these arpeggios and scale warmups also be done using a straw at any point within?
So like how do I learn to improve with this. I watched previous videos on male vocal warm ups and extending range but how do I do this where I build a solid foundation and know I’m doing it right and improving than hurting. Like warmup for an hour and not sing the rest the day. If that makes sense sorry I’m new into learning to sing
You do comprehensive training. You begin at the beginning to build a solid foundation. Start here: kentamplinvocalacademy.com/
Thank you for this video! I was wishing that this video existed last week!

Awesome lesson! Thx Ken! Rick S.
Anybody get a really dry throat when doing lips trills? I can’t do them without holding my face. Been trying for almost 40 years. I try to relax my face, lips etc. dry frustrating!
Always end up with dry cords.
Also seem to be having issues with cord closure. As told my my speech therapist who scoped my throat. That may be part of the problem. Been doing Ken’s program for a while, but can seem to grasp this. Any tips or suggestions are much appreciated.
Thanks Ken!
Congrats! I'm really very surprised about the beauty of the melody at the end of the video. According to Shazam the song's name is Sing. Where could I listen the full song?

QUESTION: How far in advance of singing should I warm up? THANKS!!!
My friend thank You so much, really enjoyed and free ready for the show hahaha
Any time!
Ken.. can you sing a song of steve lee in gotthard..
I'm trying to figure out why some singers place their tongues differently. Is it based on different morphologies or is it a technique? With some singers you can't ever see their tongues. Other singers, like Ken and Chuck Billy for example, seem to "stick their tongues out." I'm not sure if I should be trying to do that or go with what feels right.
