      I will not leave the house without my leatherman multi tool. Im surprised you dont carry one of those. I also have the bit sets with it and a small flashlight mounted on the leatherman case. Shorter days at this time of year its nice to have the flashlight for the end of the day, also finding water hook ups in mechanical rooms its nice to have that small flashlight (we do mostly new construction)

      I like to carry a can of spray primer because every now and then you scrape something or fill a nail hole with spackle and its convenient to be able to pull it out and hit it then so you don't forget. It would be nice to have a velcro flap/lid thing. The tool belts I try something always wants to fall out when I bend over.

    • @alanrichecky49
      @alanrichecky49 3 года назад

      @@cottagepainter6564 I normally keep an extra spray tips, wrench, flat and Phillip head screw drives, and a 2 edge knife. The reason I keep extra spray tips is just in case I drop one I don’t have to stop production and I can keep going. I use a soap tip when I’m washing a house so sometimes when I’m on a ladder, I will drop one. Not to offend but it does happen. Yes I pick them up when I’m on the ground. Wrench and screw drivers are for taking house number, downspouts or anything else that need taken down. Normally I take all those things off before I start power washing but sometimes things get over looked. That way I don’t have to walk to the trailer or the other side of the house to get a tool. The 2 edge knife is for if there is an old wasp nest on the house, I can scrape it off right when and there.

    I personally use a rubberized metal drill hook to hold my tape it’s sleek thin lightweight and extremely comfortable I barely notice it. it’s also a lot faster to get your tape in and out and is adjustable and I can fit a 1 inch and 1.5 inch tape both (even though I usually carry one type at a time) the one I use was bought off amazon for around 10 dollars it also has a plastic ball at the end so you don’t have to worry about sharp edges I’ve been using if for a couple months now and highly recommend it.

    I've been using the Kuny electrician bag for 2 years now. I customized it a bit by tearing out all the pouch pockets so i could fit my tape. Its good, but now that i got those Tough Gaffs, i want something a bit more compact.
    Our tool-set is pretty much identical. I prefer the richards window scraper. I also have a pair of red-handle plyers, an adjustable wrench, a 4-inch duster brush, a 1 inch putty knife and a .75 inch 'bent' putty knife (awesome tool).
    Can't wait to see your custom bag!!!

I also include a carpenters pencil as its not permanet if i have to write/mark anything on walls or wood..a high % hand sanitizer is great to have around for hard to remove dried paint spots that you may come across on delicate surfaces.

    Nice video dude. My bag changes from interior to exterior. Something i have on, a bit of folded up sand paper and a damp rag. The rag always gets in the way. Also a pry bar to remove nails when setting them deeper ain’t gonna fix the issue. Where can I find a caulk gun holster? Or should I just attach a hanger to it? Smaller 12 v impact/drill driver set from dewalt are more practical for residential painters then a huge 20v drill. A smaller 6v drill is even more appropriate for cabinets/light switch plates. And of course use a drill holster or the clip they come with.

      Life of the pump for one.

    • @cottagepainter6564
      @cottagepainter6564 3 года назад

      For me, its the ability to maintain constant pressure. The cheaper models will go down 200-300 PSI before the motor turns back on. This can be really annoying if your trying to get a fine finish, or your using the HEA tips which work over a much smaller pressure range.
      If your a large-scale painter, like Chris was, doing 100's of gallons a week, then life of the pump is a serious concern.
