- In my latest "Discover New Colour Combinations" monthly video project I created a mark making tool from recycled cardboard to stamp acrylic paint in a grundy fashion.
This is an extract of that original video.

Fabulous idea! I hope you do more of these type tutorials and mark making ideas!!!!
I’m hoping to
This was awesome! I made strips from magazine pages…..glued layers together, then rolled and shaped how I wanted, making sure 1 side remained level….using as mark making items.
I saw a video by Quirky Queens Journals (I think that's the name) with something like that in it. Really interesting results.
@renaerogers4718 that might have been where I got the idea from. It was watching a different video/content creator. But I couldn't remember the channel name.
Vielen Dank für deine tolle Idee 💡
Liebe Grüße Kerstin
So glad you put these "make the tool" instructions separate! Great reference material.
Joyce it was me just playing with an idea and one I’m planning on continuing.
What a great way to use up some cardboard.
TFS this fabulous idea Ceri.❤
Thank you for being a part of crafting/artistic life. Ideas like this one is what elevated our own skills. ❤❤❤
It's my pleasure

Same to you kim
What a great idea to make! I can’t wait to make some mark making pieces to use. I hope you do more of these tutorials as I find them extremely useful. Thank you Ceri!
I hope so too
Great idea Ceri! I have a piece of corrugated cardboard that insists on rolling up. I think I’ll glue it into a tight roll and use it to stamp spirals. (At least that’s what I think it will do!) Love the quick videos as well as your more in-depth ones.
I believe that I’m going to be making this one ❤❤❤
I love the idea of making one's own tools. What a fantastic idea!
Thank you Samantha
Oh this is brilliant. So cheap to make and such a lovely grid! I am definitely going to have a go at this. Thank you so much. 🎨
You’re welcome 😊
Loved it! What a great idea!! Thanks, Ceri!!
Hi Ceri, new commenter and fairly recent watcher and subscriber here. I've been loving lots of the videos I've seen but this one speaks to what I've been doing over the last several days, namely cutting up oodles of cardboard and packaging from the Christmas period and then trying to work out exactly what I wanted to do with it. What a great idea! Thank you for sharing. Looking forward to more recycling and mark making videos in the future.
Oh thank you and welcome to my channel.
Ceri, your ideas always get me inspired, so after I watch your video, I start making it, love it. Enjoy your day and happy New Year.
Ceri- what a great video! Great way to use up bits we may have laying around. And if we can't find what we are looking for- we can certainly make it!
Glad it was helpful
I really like having a separate video on hiw to. ❤
I’m going to try and do that with every video I can that has a tool or technique I can lift out of the video, it’ll just need time for me to start thinking of it as I’m filming. .
Hello dear Ceri, I love this! I am going to create one as well, thank you so much for the inspiration. Big hugs, have a blessed day ❤❤

brilliant idea! thank you!
That was fantastic Ceri, I love things we can use for mark making, I wondered if you could do the same with expired store cards, only I don't know if they can be cut down in size, food for thought, I love it how you get our creative brains going wild with inspiration. I loved your new intro too, I feel like for those who don't know you, it's like hey this looks exciting, and it most certainly is, thanks for another great idea. 😃
Thank you so much, I'll think about the store cards.

Happy New Year………New Year, New start.
💜💜💜
❤❤❤
Mmmm great idea! I would prob use a ruler and knife cuz my giotine (sp???) cutter bends the cardboard when it slices through the thicker stuff
❤
Ceri, Happy New Year! Thanks for the affordable mark making tutorial and demo. Do you think this technique could also be used on a gel plate?
As the tool has no sharp edges I’d say this could definitely be used on a gel plate to make marks, as with anything just be cautious as over time the build up of paint could become sharp in areas on the tool.
Happy New Year 🎉❤🎊🎈May 2025 be your best year yet!
Same to you Jackie

@CeriGriffiths Thank you sweet Ceri.
Mines dried wonky. Think the pad cardboard I used needed to be thicker but hey ho it still works to make marks
You have a unique wonky mark making tool………no one else has that one. Good job.
