A high level grappler will always take out a high level striker. And when that grappler is a champion college level wrestler, it's only going to be that much harder for the striker.

Colby is going to be even more relentless with the pressure and is in his prime. Kamaru had already turned that corner with injuries years ago and was hanging on. You could see in the trilogy with Leon how flat Kamaru was, I don't think he fights the same ever again.

Colby couldn’t beat Kamaru, and he also got dropped by a washed Masvidal who was knocked out cold by Usman. Colby’s a tough bastard but Leon is a different breed. He’s been with the same coach his whole life. Colby has changed gyms and coaches so much. That’s what makes Leon the champion he is. DISCIPLINE.
Also why would the UFC jump a person like Shakvat who clearly is going to be a better opponent, it just won’t sell ppv. Colby is a once a year fighter, Shakvat fought twice in 2022 and just fought this year and won all three.. you colby fans are crazy. Leon lost every round in the first fight against Usman except his headkick. The second fight Usman was clearly injured as his knees are gone.

I like Leon but styles make fights and Colby is going to beat him from pillar to post for 5 full rounds.
If he couldnt do it to Usman why do you think he will do it to Leon after 2 years off?
Explain how his style is a bad match up for Leon, and explain how that style is different from Usmans
@@turdferguson8704 He couldn’t do it to Usman because styles make fights…Usman is a wrestler, which deterred Colby from trying to take him down, which means he was forced to stand with him. Leon is not as good a wrestler as Usman is, so Colby will be going for those takedowns all night.
@@skeletonz7924 easily. Usman is a very patient fighter, whereas Colby is a pressure fighter: always moving forward with pressure wrestling and volume striking. Against Usman, Leon was able to plant his shots because Usman was standing in the pocket and trading with him. Colby won’t do that, he’ll have Edwards on his back foot all night from the pressure. Edwards has very good striking but he’s not a great counterstriker. He won’t be able to land the shots he did against Usman because Colby won’t be in the pocket with him, he’ll be rushing him with that volume striking and pressure wrestling. How’s that for ya?

They often have to travel outside the UK and go to American gyms to learn how to effectively wrestle, if not to shoot then at least to stop a take-down. In the case of Leon, it was not in vain because his wrestling both offensively and defensively, got better.
