I made several trips to southern California back in the late 90s…didn’t see any encampments in San Diego or any other place. Was not allowed to stay in Chula Vista which was closer to where my job took me so can’t say what it was like. But I liked San Diego and didn’t mind the drive to Otay Mesa.

I went to sports arena when Todd Gloria said shelter beds were being offered to the homeless. That wasn't true. No one was offered shelter beds but he reported only one person accepted and the rest refused. That was a lie.

About 4 years ago or more, CV had a measure on the ballot to raise sales tax to hire more police to control homeless. With prop 47, police has very little power to control the homeless crimes because with prop 47 they became misdemeanors. But CV voted it through anyway. Then 2 years ago Prop 20, which would have reversed some of Prop 47, was on the ballot, it didn't pass. So here we are, people saying, send them to TX or FL, how about THINK before you vote, don't let the heart-tugging titles sway you. I am all for helping the homeless, as long as they are held accountable for their substance abuse. No free hotel vouchers or mini communities. They must get clean and contribute to society in a positive way. But that won't happen, because they'd rather be on the street, stealing property and using drugs, prop 47 will continue protecting them, so why not?
