I actually love walking on the bottom of the water, given I have aqua boy/girl rank two, so I like to go into third person and just slowly emerge out of the depths, usually with a companion in a similar suit. It's so badass. Just imagine a squad of BoS Paladins slowly trudging up through the murky depths, lasers mowing down anything that moves.
Actually one of my favorite smaller factions in the game, they are light-hearted and caring but pretty tough. I wish they had a more involved quest line or that you could recruit them to rebuild the Commonwealth.

I REALLY liked this little story arc...to the point that I wish it wasn't so short. The entire Atom Cats crew are actually DECENT people. You do good by them and they return the favor and then some! This little arc proved that people can be good without being aligned to the Minutemen, or the Railroad. True they are not a major story faction to be joined but they don't need to be. They are Bethesda's way of saying that your typical average person will, if given even half a chance, will respond to a good deed WITH a good deed. True you have to "join" them, they don't pay it forward in your case, but in the world of the Commonwealth paying it forward is dangerous. Letting just anyone into your group is an invitation to disaster. But if you prove that you will help them, and you do (first with the pump, then by coming to their rescue) they welcome you in, give a jacket, and give you a DISCOUNT.
Was hoping they could join our faction. Either directly with the BOS and Minutemen, or indirectly with the Railroad and Institute. Maybe see them as part of a quest to reform the CPG. Return of the Commonwealth Provisional Government!
A big part of the race would be modifying your armor to be functional underwater. You would need to seal it, make sure you have enough oxygen without risking hyper-oxygenation, while dealing with the water and all it's hazards. From the fact you would need to take serious consideration to aero-dynamics, to dealing with mire-lurks mid-race, to being able to get the armor out of the water to finish the race, an amphibious race going under the water would be as much a test of engineering prowess as skill. Sounds awesome! Lets do it! And not at all so I can pay them to figure out the best way to get an amphibious power-armor division! Nope, not at all. Also, you are getting 5k caps to modify your armor from The General, that's all you can use. Not at all because that's my budget for said non-existent purely hypothetical power armor division.

Well it's a big part of that '50s aesthetic that defines Fallout. It's pretty funny that between pretty much all of the games, the post-apocalyptic "greasers" always seem to be taking queues from old movies or magazines, such as the Kings in NV, or in the case of the Atom Cats, reading old hotrod magazines. Almost a parody of a parody.
Ambrosio Gonzalez In the fallout lore the transistor is never invented and the timeline has a divergence point in the last 1940's early 1950's. So anything after that is different to our timeline. That's why all the technology is retro futuristic as they couldn't make their tech smaller without transistors. So pop culture stayed the same as tech and ideology didn't really change.
It's funny that you have greasers that can rebuild friggen power armor, but nobody in the post apocalyptic world has figured out basic carpentry and every structure is just nailed together junk. Even the earliest recorded human civilizations didn't live this badly!
Everything is junk nailed togethef so that ican be built and repaired fast and with few materials, you wouldn't spend 2 months rebuilding a settlement just so that the gunners/raiders would destroy it in a single day. And i say that lorewise in case you didn't get it, because EXPLOSIONS :))

I saved peepers at lvl 53 by hacking him and shouting him down before the fight then the gunners won't target him and then reactivate him and he is still alive now
I always try to build some sort of Atom Cat Outpost or second base at the Red Rocket Truck Stop and get Sturges, Deacon, Piper and some other people with names there and outfit them with atom cat jackets a shame that Bethesda didin't do more with them
Sorry for the late reply, you have to do it on PC. Once you get the jacket you drop it on the ground and go into console mode (~ key) and click on it to get its' code. Once you do that you can type in player.additem *code* and the number you want. example. player.additem 0014a0dc 5 will give you 5 sets of Zekes' jackets and jeans.
It seemed funny to me that the sunset she saw from her patio and the one I saw from the back steps was the same one. Maybe the two different worlds we lived in weren't so different. We saw the same sunset.

Most people forget that Fallout is set in a world where culture got stuck in the 1950s. The Atom Cats are there to remind them that, as post-war greasers. Greasers tune cars, Atom Cats tune power armor. My only acceptable place to hang out in Fallout 4. They sure are the coolest cats in The Commonwealth. You don't like them, you are not a square, you are a cube.

Hey, I just tried this because I thought it'd be a fun thing to try out since my character already had the previously mentioned perk. If you hack him inside the Garage on his route in front of Bluejay's Bar he is well protected. The best part of this whole idea is that none of the members get mad at you for turning him off. For any evil person's information, you can not blow up peepers with the common [Initate Self Destruct Protocol] ...but who would want to do that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I just found out about the atom cats because I was replaying and found duke out and about and I went to their base and talked to them and then I found the holotapes and it made me so happy. It's so wholesome to see them encouraging eachother over poetry. They have such a strong bond and their whole lifestyle is just based around being cool and how it's cool to take care of yourself, your armor, and your friends and family.

It's criminal they weren't a bigger part of fallout 4. The atom cat paint and jacket are the best looking things you can wear in the game imo. Zeek is a fun faction leader and it's neat to see how the cats help the settlements near them while kicking the shit out of the toughest raider gang in the commonwealth. I met Duke in a random encounter. Scared the Hell out of me when I first saw him. (I was really low level.) Also, do you have any videos planned for the glowing sea? That place is a pain in the ass to explore because of all the the deathclaws.
Duke saved my ass once. Pinned down by some Gunner after straying too far south far too early in the game. Getting ready to die and reload when a guy in flame-painted PA comes stomping in. Was really hoping there'd be more to the 'Cats, but they're still awesome.
Evan Ulven yea i remember high lvl super mutant patrol coming out of nowhere and nearly butchering me while i was trying to sneak on the raider camp very low lvl only having my hunting rifle on me well duke came out of nowhere too and super mutants focused him while i ran away i would had lost 3 hours of progress he's my hero
Danger Beans I got this mod that makes enemy's that are level 100 and they are legendary and they are mostly in the glowing sea, deathclaws are ants compared to these.
The fact Duke doesn't notice you're wearing a jetpack is a great exemplar of what's missing in Fallout 4. Adaptive dialogue and hidden interactions happen here and there... but the game's loaded with moments I know New Vegas, much less Alpha Protocol, would have acknowledged.

Join the Atom Cats Hang cat pictures in your home settlement Execute the cat meat trader Defend all settlements that house cats Gain access to the Prydwen Gain access to the cat hoarder's house in Diamond City Rescue and cure Virgil (he has a cat picture in his hideout, therefore I deemed him a fan) Return the cat to Vault 81 There's more, but I've only recently got back into the game and haven't found more rules to add yet.

I did keep peepers alive for that attack but it gets killed a while later when I'm away during an unscripted gunner attack. Poor little thing is destined to die.
I'm sad because I just got a new silenced weapon and thought I'd try it out on these scary looking guys in power armor and was surprised i took out the whole place silent. Only after searching the place on wiki I learned they were all nice and I could have traded with them... and my last save was 2 hours back... so fuckin mad

Peepers lived in my playthrough. Though it was probably largely to do with the fact that the Gunners didn't have much time to shoot him considering that they had a few dozen tons of pissed off power armor caving their skulls in with his bare hands.
When you realise that the sole survivor is literally the definition of the 'how do you do fellow kids' when he/she interacts with the atom cats

It took me several attempts but I managed to save it.
I saved peepers at lvl 53 by hacking him and shouting him down before the fight then the gunners won't target him and then reactivate him and he is still alive now

I always try to build some sort of Atom Cat Outpost or second base at the Red Rocket Truck Stop and get Sturges, Deacon, Piper and some other people with names there and outfit them with atom cat jackets

Sorry for the late reply, you have to do it on PC. Once you get the jacket you drop it on the ground and go into console mode (~ key) and click on it to get its' code. Once you do that you can type in player.additem *code* and the number you want. example. player.additem 0014a0dc 5 will give you 5 sets of Zekes' jackets and jeans.
Peepers the eyebot tends to die immediately when the Gunners hit the Atom Cats base.

Most people forget that Fallout is set in a world where culture got stuck in the 1950s. The Atom Cats are there to remind them that, as post-war greasers. Greasers tune cars, Atom Cats tune power armor. My only acceptable place to hang out in Fallout 4.

Hey, I just tried this because I thought it'd be a fun thing to try out since my character already had the previously mentioned perk. If you hack him inside the Garage on his route in front of Bluejay's Bar he is well protected. The best part of this whole idea is that none of the members get mad at you for turning him off. For any evil person's information, you can not blow up peepers with the common [Initate Self Destruct Protocol] ...but who would want to do that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The Atom Cats are literally some of my favorite characters in the game. I love them so much.
I just found out about the atom cats because I was replaying and found duke out and about and I went to their base and talked to them and then I found the holotapes and it made me so happy. It's so wholesome to see them encouraging eachother over poetry. They have such a strong bond and their whole lifestyle is just based around being cool and how it's cool to take care of yourself, your armor, and your friends and family.

It's criminal they weren't a bigger part of fallout 4. The atom cat paint and jacket are the best looking things you can wear in the game imo. Zeek is a fun faction leader and it's neat to see how the cats help the settlements near them while kicking the shit out of the toughest raider gang in the commonwealth. How bethesda decided that they shouldn't be an offshoot of the minutemen or something is beyond me

I met Duke in a random encounter. Scared the Hell out of me when I first saw him. (I was really low level.)
Also, do you have any videos planned for the glowing sea? That place is a pain in the ass to explore because of all the the deathclaws.
The same thing happened to me. I thought I wandered into a high level area.
Duke saved my ass once. Pinned down by some Gunner after straying too far south far too early in the game. Getting ready to die and reload when a guy in flame-painted PA comes stomping in. Was really hoping there'd be more to the 'Cats, but they're still awesome.
Evan Ulven yea i remember high lvl super mutant patrol coming out of nowhere and nearly butchering me while i was trying to sneak on the raider camp very low lvl only having my hunting rifle on me well duke came out of nowhere too and super mutants focused him while i ran away i would had lost 3 hours of progress he's my hero
Duke helped me out when I was ordered to take out Raiders at Dunwich Borers.
Danger Beans I got this mod that makes enemy's that are level 100 and they are legendary and they are mostly in the glowing sea, deathclaws are ants compared to these.
The fact Duke doesn't notice you're wearing a jetpack is a great exemplar of what's missing in Fallout 4. Adaptive dialogue and hidden interactions happen here and there... but the game's loaded with moments I know New Vegas, much less Alpha Protocol, would have acknowledged.

There is a mod that gives the atom Cats their own radio channel - this is possible because in the game code its already there (as Oxhorn pointed out).
In all honesty, I made a 'Church of the Cat' vow in one of my files. It's a silly little set of rules I decided to do, but it amused me, and I like cats =3 I don't have an actual list or anything, but here:
Find the South Boston Church (an unmarked location) and honor the cat.
Join the Atom Cats
Hang cat pictures in your home settlement
Execute the cat meat trader
Defend all settlements that house cats
Gain access to the Prydwen
Gain access to the cat hoarder's house in Diamond City
Rescue and cure Virgil (he has a cat picture in his hideout, therefore I deemed him a fan)
Return the cat to Vault 81
There's more, but I've only recently got back into the game and haven't found more rules to add yet.

When I bought the creation club atom cats paint, I found this and thought it was all because of it.
I did keep peepers alive for that attack but it gets killed a while later when I'm away during an unscripted gunner attack. Poor little thing is destined to die.

Just switch Peepers off with the robot expert perk while he's in a safe spot before the Gunner attack. Switch him back on afterwards. Job done.

Peepers lived in my playthrough. Though it was probably largely to do with the fact that the Gunners didn't have much time to shoot him considering that they had a few dozen tons of pissed off power armor caving their skulls in with his bare hands.
