Do these trains have drivers, or are they fully auto? If they do have drivers, how much does a driver pay to drive the train? Just as much fun as a roller coaster and I bet at half the price.
Been automated since new Dec 1985. Been expanded several times since. Most of the system uses this reaction rail induction motor system, which works great on the hills and has no real moving parts. Scarborough On has a very short version of this train, but they opted to have drivers, which required convoluted mods as they were designed to be automated from the start. Entire System including the different trains on the Canada line is 79 km. All automated however.
Hi huzur, did u use an tripod? The video is very excellent. I rode the Skytrain back in 2003 when I visit the city on my two country's train ride across Canada, and USA. Don't remember the line tho.
I remember that a smart rider knows exactly what to get on and what door to be close to for their exit when leaving the train, it's easier and saves walking after you get off the train!
They are built in Woking UK, I live near there and see a lot of them being driven to the nearest gas station to get a full tank of gas for the first time.
Definitely Mark 1 as the video poster says. They have a highly distinctive “gear like” sound and I find smoother starting as well. Mark 2 & 3 have a more variable whine. I Miss the old station announcement ding.
what a beautiful train and stations hardly any trash but if you come to Los Angles metro system bums and uneducated people destroy our stations with trash it looks disgusting
Its actually pretty cheap to ride but you have to go to vancouver to ride it which could be expensive if you dont live near vancouver and a pain for border crossings if youre not in BC
Great vid, never been to your part of the world but this did get me to look at things on the net to do with Skytrain.
Right off the bat a dude leaves through the emergency door. Classic!
Yeah what a dipshit!
Local
Where are we, what country?
Very clear video but where is this? e.g. Colombia? Please advise. Thanks!
William E. Pittman the starting was Columbia.
Vancouver, Canada
It's the Skytrain in Vancouver BC, Canada!
The best non-driver transit system anywhere 👍👍👍

Why the camera is not focusing and the picture is blurry? Have you touched the recorder or tried to change some settings?

Ridiculous question, but I need to do: this is the 64gb model right?
Done that trip a few times
anyone notice the McLaren 570s at 21:05.
Speaking of cars...What's with the stack of cars on the tree trunk at 23:01? right side of screen.
dju4ia it's an art installation, it has to do with how much waste we create.

Idk that this is a mark 3 it sounds just like the ones used by the TTC on their line 3
mmkenny1694 I am in a Mark I train from the 80s.

@@threeparots1 Me too. The announcements from 2010 to early August 2015 were so much better, and I miss those announcements.
