  • This time lapse video shows a weekend (Friday night until Monday morning) of snowmaking, snow and skiing at Bousquet Mountain Ski Area in Pittsfield. To keep the mountain up and running is a 24 hour operation. (Ben Garver, The Berkshire Eagle)

Hi, that was shot at one frame a second for a weekend. I cut a few bits out at night just for brevity. Thanks for your interest.

Because US lift prices are fucking ridiculous.
Last time I went to the US, some shit little resort called Heavenly about 10x smaller than a European resort with lifts from the 1970's they were charging $180 A DAY for a ticket. That's how they afford it, plus a beer in the bar was about $12, shit over priced food too.

@@zrob. All the Tahoe resorts charge that much and it's well known that US prices are preposterously high, they may not all be that much, but anything well known is considerably more expensive than Europe but a much smaller resort.
I can get a week pass in peak season in the biggest resorts in the world, with the best lift systems, 8 man heated high speed chairs, new gondolas etc for a fraction of what I would pay in the US resorts which shut down at the mere threat of some wind.
A one day ticket at Whistler is $206 (that's US) absolutely disgusting.

how in the swearwords is this even economic viable??????
labour in the Netherlands is expensive I quess its even more expensive in the US.
snow cannons costs alot of energy here in Europe energy prices have tripled.
preparing pistes and cables also alot of engineering cost + skilled people for maintaince and i can think about so much more costs.
and the price for a ski pass is only 75EURO (half a day mininum wage) and you literaly get heaven passport for a day.
I'm not a disciple from Jezus but I cant believe this is possible?
statiscally speaking people use more and more drugs and spend their choosing druggie lifestyle in the meantime this sport is losing more members by the year...
respect what you guys doing wish to visit one day!
