Well, changing pairs from a time to another is important to keep students interested and to learn from different partners. This is a CELTA criterion that goes under students' needs. and involvement.
I know that sometimes group work is difficult in lock-step mode. You can use pair work activities getting students to talk the partners they are sitting next to.

Using technology is fine. However, make sure you have your pictures in case of a technology failure.

You can teach vocabulary using the PPP or the text-based presentation.
