- I'm going on a blind date, I'm doing my friend a favour, I hope she's not a horror, I'll have to wait and see. Slapping on the Old Spice, Trying hard to look nice, Got my tonic suit on, Hope she fancies me. She got out of the taxi, She was a monster, A total eclipse, Of Sainsbury's. Tattoos on her tattoos, Muscles on her muscles, She looked like the sister, Of Idi Amin. We're going to the pictures, I didn't have any choice, She put her arm around me, Her grip was like her voice. Sshh! Sshh! time. Is that the time, Is it really half past nine? Sorry darling, I'm gonna have to go. I got to get to Wandsworth, I'm meeting Terry Lawless, Tonight I'm sparring with Frank Bruno. She got out of the taxi, She was a monster, A total eclipse, Of Sainsbury's. Tattoos on her tattoos, Muscles on her muscles, She looked like the sister, Of Idi Amin. Geezer she's a monster, She's really not that bad, You must think that I'm joking, You must think I'm mad. I'll never take you word again, You do what you like, Going down the boozer, I'll be there tonight. I'm going on a blind date, I'm doing my friend a favour, I hope she's not a horror, I'll have to wait and see.

BRILLIANT!..... Love Planet SKA!! Beam me UP! Long Live The RIFFS!!!
Very good SKA band like to see them.😎🕴️👍🛵
oh my god...this takes me back
Top choon, the Riffs were never the same after Aidan left.
I most certainly did!! I did a few reviews, had a laugh and am going to see Symarip on the 20th next month in that London!!
Aiden and Alexander - thank you both for all of this information!
Best live band
this song defines all what was the best in british ska
CLASSIC! Thank you so much for putting this one up...
Absolute Genius!!!
awesome jam
Aidan is right about this tune. He had the lyrics and melody ready in rehearsal but no chords. I and the rest of the band helped with the arrangement to finish it. It was then an Ejits song during our last days. Main credit goes to Aidan though. I wrote the picket song and that sort of stuff. Just to clear things up.
Ahhh the memories!
"Her grip was like her voice." ...Thing is about that line, it's misquoted absolutely everywhere. It's actually "Her grip was like a vice.". It's just the way they sing it, it sure does sound like "Voice.", but it's just the way it's accented to rhyme with the previous line "I didn't have any choice.".
Yes there was, but I enjoy the live version a billion times better.
Well bob saget, it's the riffs
No idea, I'll ask around.
Look lively, loads of tickets gone.
oi oi can't beat a bit of ska welcome to SWANSEA boys
He'd beat Bruno!
the original Paragons version is top notch, and U-Roy's version of The Tide is High is just as good!
If my memory serves me correctly... Long time ago.
By the way, spoke to my mate and he ain't seen him for over 10 years. last time I saw him was at Brixton in '97.
💪😐👍
Burnley skins on a European tour. Oioi and beer. Ska
Was a studio version of this ever recorded? I've only ever heard this live version!
