Thank you for uploading the video. I am nostalgic about the past. 1989: I was 8 years old. I was still in elementary school. I was still young, innocent and living a carefree life. My mom and grandparents were still alive taking good care of me. Life was so much simpler back then. No cell phone, no internet, no modern gadgets. I'm happy playing with my friends patintero, tagu-taguan or watching TV. I wish I could go back in time and relive those precious moments. Time flies so fast.

I also like the 80s fashion and I noticed that most Pinoys back then are slim, halos wala ka ng makitang overweight kahit yung may mga edad na. Not like now na ang daming overfed and our diet these days are more on sweets and unhealthy. Grabe yung Cindy''s at the end of this video, namiss ko bigla yung chicken nila na ang laki ng serving noon bakit ba kasi sila nawala. Yan ang favorite ko nung bata ako. Ang ganda rin ng song sa Cindy's playing in the background Bad Boy by Miami Sound Machine, ang 80s ng beat.

I've only seen the interior of the Grand Boulevard Hotel (formerly Silahis Hotel) through a Filipino comedy movie "Pinay Pie". The last time I saw the hotel, it had become sort of an eerie shell with graffiti on the front and a lone security guard guarding the entrance.
I don't know what happened now because of this coronavirus pandemic.

Marcos ruined the economy. Compare his good first term to his second term, during which he and his cronies hijacked the government so he could stay in power and bleed the country dry. From the 40s-60s we had a solid economy, when he declared Martial Law in the 70s that is when the Philippines began to slide into poverty. Crime, corruption, and malnutrition became major problems that further exacerbated our economic woes.
By the time Cory Aquino took over the government was technically bankrupt, so the country had to start from scratch. And because it is easier to destroy than to rebuild It took another 4 decades before our economy could bounce back. Unfortunately, the current administration is once again neglecting our economy.
