You saved me thank you so much for the video just finished my wheel bearing Job. For those of you with a g30lp, taking off the rear tire you’ll need to unbolt the controll (two Allan screws) and then unscrew the yellow brown and blue wires. It’s not plug and play like the model shown in the video but everything else shown is a perfect guide
I recommend if it's your first time taking the insides apart. Take a picture of it so when you have to put it back you can copy the picture instead of just memory. I wish someone told me this the first time.
Friends co-owners of the Ninebot Max, I had reached about 900 kilometers, when my skateboard gave me a brief scare, it seemed that the rear electronic break had stuck. Fortunately, the issue resolved itself, after a few brief comebacks. A month later the vibration returned, at 1,100 kilometers exactly, something hindered the free advance of the scooter. I thought it was the front bearings. I changed them after watching the Random Repair video but the problem was still there. Finally, determined to change the rear wheel bearings I removed the cover and discovered a large short circuit. The brown, yellow, and blue wires had melted together. I did some cleaning with paper towels, alcohol. Remove the burnt pieces of wire and reconnect them and the scooter is working fine again. I noticed that some wires had like mouse bites, so I recommend removing the bottom cover and inspecting this wiring every 800 kilometers to detect and repair a problem of this type in time and avoid burning expensive components.
You are the freaking best for making these videos, dude. I can't thank you enough. Do you have a paypal that I can send you a few bucks to buy you a beer or something? Awesome stuff.
Nice! I just ordered the seals since I have the bearings and never thought about changing them out too. I didn't see any other videos recommending seal replacement either. Thanks!
I know you made this video forever and a day ago but do you remember what bearings you used for the rear wheels and are they interchangeable with the front bearings?
Hello Random Repair: Thanks for the great video. However, I have a problem: I can google whatever I want, I can't find a double lip seal for the Ninebot Max G30. I can't find the sealant either. Can you please help me or another user? Many thanks and best regards from Switzerland, Mike
Are you installing the new seals dry? ...or have you greased the inner or outer rim of the seal before installing, and if so are you using the same blue RTV gasket maker on the seals? At 25:25 you mention being careful not to rub all of the grease off when passing the wiring harnesses through the seal - but you never mentioned greasing the seals before installing? (i did notice there was an edit/cut in the video when handling the first seal before installing, maybe the step of greasing the seals got cut?). Thanks for the video!
Great vid. Does your rear wheel have a slight but noticeable wobble? I just got my scooter back from warranty repair (for battery connector melt) and noticed they have given me an entirely different scooter which has a noticeable wobble. They've definately touched the hub motor because the reflector stickers have been peeled back.
My son heard a loud grind from the rear and the power shut off. It won’t come back on. He had heard some noise from underneath or towards the rear prior to this occurring. I’m worried the rear bearing may have been bad and caused some other issues for it to cut off and. He has about 1200 miles on it. He has the G30 max. Any suggestions?
I came to this vid from another vid and I didn't like how you pre-assume that my back bearings are bad. I just replaced GEN1 motor by GEN2 so no, it's fine. For now :)
@@randomrepair1680 yes, low quality but not bad (yet) maybe it's symantics issue. I followed these instructions and i also changed the front bearing with your videos as guide. Everything went smoothly, but when i went to ride it again i still heard ringing rattling sound from the back. any idea what it could be?
Are the stock bearings C3 (higher tolerance) or standard? I don't understand why they skimp on these bearings, I v'e ordered 2 x 6001 2RSH and 2 x 6003 2RSH from SKF (both in normal and C3 version, so 8 bearings) and it's only around 3EUR/piece?! Checked several reputable webshops in my area and they are never more then 4EUR a piece. Now I'm just wondering whether I should put the normal ones or the C3 on? As I understand, if not sure what to use, it's better to use higher tolerance. In case they can't dissipate heat they have room to expand.
I found some seals of the same size but they seem different from what I can see on the video. the ones I found have a slot on one side and there's something like a spring inside the slot. they're also completely flat on both sides. the ones on the video don't seem flat on one side, right? is it possily some sort of truncated cone on the side that will be on the outer part of the rim?
