    Hi, my name is Sharon, I'm Farley new to sewing, but I've got the basics down I think, I hope. I bought this machine, and knew I'd have to watch a video on it, and I looked at quite a few videos, and still never learned a thing really. I came across your tutorial, and now I can actually thread it. I never knew what foot pedals were, till I watched your videos. To make a long story short, your one tutorial that I watched, helped me learn what I needed to know, in a few minutes. I wasted hours on other tutorials and was frustrated. I truly appreciate how you explain everything in detail, and step by step. Like I said, I'm new to sewing, I'm excited to see what I can do. If you have the time and don't mind messaging me back, I would so much appreciate if you can give me any advice, or if you have tutorials for beginners, I would so much the link. Again thank you for sharing your video, and thank you for taking the time to read this llllooonnnggg, lol, message. Thanks again.

    @2:49. The instruction Manuel is incredibly important . I picked up some lime green gingham baby check curtains , & made a skirt at almost age 12. I’ve been sewing ever since. And I just turned 65. I’ve had 5 Brother sewing machine’s and a Brother surger. After learning I’m a Singer sewing machine. I still find myself reaching for the Manuel occasionally for clarification. Please don’t scare newbies off of using a machine instruction manuel, when necessary. They are invaluable. I always get a new plastic folder, and keep the manuel, and warranty papers together. Happy sewing, it’s a wonderful, satisfying hobby.

      Hello. Thanks for watching. Life long sewing individual, nice! Like you, I love Brother machines. I currently own 4 and 1 Singer - along with a Brother embroidery machine. I, personally, find Brothers easy to navigate and have never had any issue with them. It is definitely NOT my intention to get people not to read their manuals. Adults can read. Everyone can make their own decisions. It was not my intention, nor goal, to tell people what to do. I am just confident with Brother machines since I have taken some apart already! : ) Like purchasing anything from IKEA, yes manuals are needed by some!

    I love you. Down to earth, friendly, informative. I was looking at some Singer models which look like a great value but they seem to have a record of not being reliable or dead right out of the box. I have had other Brother products which I loved and they were very reliable. Your continued purchase of many Brother models convinced me to go with Brother. Thanks for a great video. You ROCK !

    • @SewnByNikki
      @SewnByNikki  4 года назад

      Hi James! I truly love Brother. I have had several of their machines, each time, upgrading to a higher machine. I also have one of their embroidery machines. I am self taught so as I continue to sew, I need additional features. There parts are sturdy and you can use universal needles and bobbins in their machines. I have students that have had Singers and they always have tension issues and bobbins are finicky .... I don't like the stitching on the beginner models either... that is just my personal opinion after attempting to fix my students'. Thanks for stopping by.

    Hi Nikki, I learned to sew many years ago on a Brother machine my mother had. My last Brother machine had something break in the area where the bobbin casing housing was and the bobbin would not stay in. It would have cost more to repair since it was a very old machine than it was worth. So I purchased a Brother XR9550PRW. It took a little to get used to it since it is now computerized and my last one wasn't.
