Honestly this trade is already a part of history because it is an extension of the Stafford trade. Goff, Jamo, Gibbs, Laporta, Paschal, Martin, Melifonwu. This was franchise rejuvenating trade.

I think they are doing a good job of splitting carries with D Montgomery. It seems like Ingram and Kamara when they were together with the saints. Keep the legs fresh during the season so they have more energy in the playoffs. Great video.

Sometimes when Gibbs cuts back against the grain and turns on the jets he reminds me of a certain past One Name Lions Goat RB. And yes, I’m glad the coaches saved his carries for the end of the season and post season.

Another quick Jah insight. I will be 67 on Thursday. The one thing that Barry did differently from every other RB (except maybe Marcus Allen) is that Barry tried to run to not be touched, a leftover from the many games of tag he played growing up. Gibbs is similar but different. Both had great lateral quickness with stop and start ability. Barry did it to the defender in a phone booth! Gibbs is more nuclear acceleration and gone!! Gibbs & Jamo give the Lions a set of twin unique nukes (as players) that you can detonate on any given play, in any given situation. Why would Ben want to leave with a full chest of toys to play with?? Add a true X WR and it's an easy 35 pt penr game avg for this team. And since its a JA vid, I wont mention Laporta, but if I were to say that you have 3 of your top offensive weapons on rookie deals and they are producing @ these levels.-whats next?? 😲👀💯🎙❤️👍🏾

I think BH's best skill is as a supreme draft talent evaluator. Apparently me too!! I loved every pic cuz I saw in Gibbs the same electricity that he did- the kind that just stuns you and makes you want to watch every carry of that back. There are not many backs who could do what Gibbs can do, with the combo of power, electricity and balance that Gibbs has. And with his work in the passing game expanding, what NFL linebacker can cover THAT!?!? I do have some mocks saved where I picked some trio of the top 5 🦁s picks. But GIbbs & Campbell were automatic. 🎙💯❤️👍🏾

Never in 25+ years of following the lions have i cared about an o lineman. 58 changed that I love that dude, he's so elite. His attitude and approach are what turned this all around. 58 is thee cornerstone of the brand new lions.

Love the analysis. I’m interested in a Glasgow video since he’s up for a contract. How does he fair compared to other guards? AND centers also because he has that versatility and that’s where a lot of his experience and value lies. It’s a good topic for the off-season discussion. So glad Ragnow said he wasn’t retiring… what a warrior

2023! We drafted, Jahmyr Gibbs in, 2023…. #1 on my wishlist… I thought, and still think, that we would have drafted, Devon Witherspoon, but Seattle beat us to it. They were my top two favorites, with, Gibbs being #1. I love it! Best college TE, best college LB. Best DB in the SEC…. Wow.

This possibility didn't occur to me until fairly recently, but I think you're right. If Seattle doesn't take Witherspoon at #5, the Lions would've taken him instead of trading their pick to the Cardinals and trading back to the 12th pick. The only thing that makes me think that might not be the case is their signings of Cam Sutton and Emmanuel Moseley as free agents, but I think the Lions still would've taken Witherspoon, and put all three of them on the field at the same time a lot. So kinda like what they ended up doing with all the good safeties they didn't realize they had the first half of the season lol.

I second the notion that your video idea was a really good one, so thank you for that. I didn't pay much attention to the Ravens receivers blocking, but being a Lions fan, the blocking effort & execution by not just the tight ends, but the receivers as well, contributed mightily to Montgomery and Gibbs both nearly going over 1000 rushing yards, and both having exceptional yards per carry stats. I found the blocking of Jameson Williams & LaPorta particularly impressive for such young players. It probably didn't hurt that the coaches told Jamo he needed to work on things like blocking, if he wanted to be in on more snaps. LaPorta seemingly came in with well above average blocking skills, which is pretty rare for a TE that's as good a route runner and pass catcher as he is. I'm definitely looking forward to watching a video on the topic, whenever it may be done.

When people ask if Jahmyr Gibbs was worth Pick #12, the comp I like to give is actually someone like Deebo Samuel; an all around weapon that can be used in multiple ways in multiple looks and formations and is a scoring threat every time he touches the ball.
Would teams take Deebo at #12 knowing what they do now? Without hesitation.

I love Penei celebrating that TD against the Bucs while Gibbs is still 15 yards out with 2 guys to beat, knowing how fast & strong he is from practicing with him every day. In Sewell's mind, it was over the moment he caught that early block.

First great work on putting this together. When I heard comparisons to Kamara, I knew he was a 1k rusher, whether he actually hit that number or not. I feel like the last touch down rum in the video, was the coming out run that showed that he knows that he can dominate in this league. Side note: I would love to see a stronger number 3 rb than Craig Reynolds.

Brad brought the receipts. And btw Gibbs was ranked higher on their board and Emory Hunt’s board as well. As Emory Stated months before the draft on the Detroit Lions Podcast (DLP) “Why wouldn’t you want to draft someone better than Bijan? He’s faster, he see’s the holes better, he runs better routes, and he has better hands. I’m talking about Jahmyr Gibbs. He’s the #1 back in my analysis.”

  • @daveconleyportfolio5192

Gibbs is a quiet guy, but he runs with arrogance. You can tell he doesn't expect a single tackler to ever bring him down once he's in the open field. He'll make three guys miss while racking up a 20-yard gain, then slap the ground in disgust because the fourth guy kept him from going all the way. It's actually pretty funny, and I always look for it now.

Off-season will be interesting with a lot of free agents in positions of need like guards and defensive backs but who knows falls into Brad and Dans lap at 29. I hope we pick a outside corner too since it’s a deep class of good CB’s and was a weakness in our defense and pass rush but Brad will work his annual magic performance at the draft and pick the best football player they have on the board and fits our culture.

Everyone said "you don't take a RB in the 1st". Look at what that guy did for that team this past year he was masterful for being a rookie RB, i'm glad they started weaponizing him later in the season him and Dmo were an insane 1-2.
