Excellently finished off yacht, perhaps the best finished off interior Ive seen on a 50ft yacht. Impressive to say the least! Well done on your video, you covered everything very well. Thank you! 😊
Merci pour le partage. J'adore l'accès au compartiment moteur. Congélateur sous le siège ! Configuration de la cabine parfaite. Couchettes pour les grands V berth kids. La cuisine est parfaite et la cabine du capitaine ❤️. This is my dream to learn my coastal navigation. Living in Florida I have access to amazing sailing. ONE DAY I’m a scratch off away.
With so many electronic systems, what lightning strike protections does the Amel have? Is there a fast way to shut down all the systems in a lightning storm? A master switch for emergencies? Because a solo or short handed sailor could be endangered by the loss of all those electronics. As someone who lives in the tropical Australia it’s a major issue.
2 showstopper problems. 1. Bolt on hull! If you lose the hull in the middle of the ocean, boat will overturn and you ae basically toast. Plenty of documented cases of bolt on hulls falling off. Its ok if you just in coastal waters where possibility of help exists. In the middle of the Atlantic, or the Pacific...well the conclusion is obvious. 2. Unprotected blade rudders. Proper blue water cruisers either have full hulls with protected rudder, or alternatively a skeg protected hung rudder. Unprotected rudders are very vulnerable to anything hitting them...A container, A whale...grounding anything.....Lovely internal featurs..do NOT make up for basic construction safety and design.
No detail on its blue water credentials. What I saw was a fancy factory boat with a bolt on keel and spade rudders. On the surface, not exactly a good follow on from the Super Maramu legacy.
single mast=cheaper ( bolt on keel= cheaper spade rudders= cheaper. ( I can not find any information about them being skegged in anyway.... ( I am assuming not s they don't shout about it) Glass hole in the hull....... let's make it less safe option the last Amel was the 55... it is now a boat with a name on it that once meant no compromise. yet another brand that will be assigned to the slow decline of the accountants curse.. .
I don't think Amel will change their build material, but the Allures 51.9 is a good example and very close to the Amel 50. We did a sea trial this year and the video will be up-loded soon so make sure you have subscribed.
A view from the UK. As much as i would love to sail, there is one thing that stops me and for a visual example it is in the opening shots of this video. From 50secs in just watch the marina appear on the horizon. Almost every video i watch on youtube is the same, 'chocca-block' full marinas throughout Europe. Add to that mooring fees are astronomic if you can get a berth. I assume this is La Rochelle where Amel's are made yes? Is it true that the vast majority of berths are occupied by overseas owners keeping their 'pride and joy' moored the whole year for their one or two yearly holiday?
These boats are so equipped, so sophisticated, so comfortable, that in the end, you stay at home in front of your 4K flat screen with a video of the open sea, plug in a fan and it's all the same! Boats for fat old pensioners who don't even have the strength to turn a winch handle anymore! ....
@@brettharrison2237 it reduces the possibility enormously. two would do no better as if any contamination was in the fuel enough to block the first filter (assuming two in series) then the second wouldn't assist that situation. my comment is that a Racor 500 filter can pass hundreds of litres an hour, but the yacht is unlikely to use more than 4 l/hr. So even if it starts to get blocked, enough fuel should still be delivered to the engine's secondary filter. Then again, if the skipper is on the ball that could never happen.
Why do all the new boats look alike? None of which are attractive. The interior on this one is cold, and without personality. A lot gadgets but not much soul. And the price? North of one million. Thanks but no thanks.
Spoken like a true poor person, jealous because you'll never in 10 lifetime be able to afford this magnificent vessel. Have fun staying bitter & poor 😂
In the main it’s cost . The sailin companies who buy six or seven boats every tree yrs or so, basically want a one fits all solution. So this bit breaks or the fridge needs replacing etc, they are all plug an go. The problem comes, with us, people that want our, boat. An that’s where it gets realy expensive!! Hope this helps.❤❤❤👍👍🙏🙏🪬🪬🥃🥃💎💎🇬🇧🇬🇧⛵️⛵️
Excellent tour of my favorite boat. Now if someone could fund my purchase lol. Enjoyed the video, thank you!
We are on the same page as you, who is going to help with the cash.

Classic French ingenuity. Beautiful vessel, well thought out and executed.
Amel are amazing.
I live the new model. Chapeau, Amel ⛵
It is something isn't it;)

Beautifully done, Amel!
Thank you
Excellent review. You're doing excellent work with your review videos!

hi excellent tour. thanks for that.
Glad you enjoyed it
Such a beautiful boat, is there a smaller model?
Sorry no, 50ft or 60ft unless you look for an older second-hand one.
Groovy boating company, groovy sailing vessel.
Absolutely;)

I do not see the link to Amel you told the Amel sales gentleman would be down below?
Is the keel bolt on? Is the mast keel stepped?

Gorgeous boat . Are you buying one?
Not yet!
I like to see Amel variations of material! Aluminium? Carbon Fiber? Any Thought? Cheers!

It’s an Amel, you get what you’re given!.

Keeping your boat put somewhere is rather expensive, while just sailing and anchoring is much cheaper.
the problem is the price
C'mon Amel, make an affordable 40 footer
That would be something wouldn't it, 40/45ft sailboat

Kind of like people who can't operate a TV without a remote....or, can't read a map, they have to use an app....I could go on and on
Only 1 racor filter?
only one needed but you can add another if you wish. Thanks for watching and welcome to Yachting insider.
It's a 500lph model. More than adequate.
@@martinlloyd7227so that prevents a blockage?

taste is subjective and personally this is one of the better interiors on a boat I've scene.
@@vorjay totally agree, I just revuied a 96ft carbon mono and would take this Amell any day.

Overpriced boat built of artificial materials with many + and real world crucial -.
hundreds of real world around the world sailers use Amel for decades, without problem, this brand has a very good reputation here, in europe.
Totally with you on that;)
Actually Amel is one of the most reputable brands in the world for bluewater sailing yachts.
