We have a fair amount of popular bands when it comes to actual underground black metal, people respect our scene a lot tbh. But yeah, Gaerea seems to be hitting the more mainstream metal audience probably because of how "modern" and "accessible" their black metal style is.
@Oliver Seiring What's wrong with the modem BM scene? You can't expect the music to stay the same forever. It gets boring after a while. I love what bands like Gaerea are doing. Nuff said.
What an introspective and deep interview about the core of what happens within this band. Can't wait for the next album and see them live next November, down here in South America!
I absolutely love this band. The way he articulates makes me really appreciate them so much more. If you like Gaerea, Check out Der Weg Einer Freiheit ~ they are also badass.
Great interview. I like the punk ethos of the band with the masks. It’s also a testament to them wanting their music to resonate with what might come off gimmicky to other bands.
Great interview dude, thanks! Got into this band two years ago with "Limbo" and was really amazed, but now Gaerea have gone up another notch, and what I've heard so far has really blown my fuckin' mind! One of my top albums for the year, if not my favourite! 😉🖤🤘
Great interview and love to see these guys getting the attention they deserve. Started listening to them when they released Unsettling Whispers and have loved everything since!
@@TheSkilfingar My personal opinion is that your face mirrors your soul. Covering it has various symbolisms, some of which have been referred to by band members. Covering parts of the head have various meanings within all mystical traditions and religions (see kings/queens, popes, orthodox priesthood or an imam, among others). Covering it with a particular symbol is willingly handing your will to the will of the one the symbol represents. This is how I perceive it, this is the way I'm addressing it. However, I might be wrong, either in my overall understanding or the intentions of the band members
Shout out to Johnny Cash, that is awesome, another Legend. This is an intelligent interview, greatly appreciated. Can't wait until 11OCT23 in Baltimore!
Great clear interview and good portrait of the view of the band members them self on their own music and vision on how they approuch writing music. Looking forwards seeing them live next week with Saor and Gaahls weird and in februari with Harakiri for the sky. New album is amazing don't know if it is released on youtube by you're knowing but it is out there already. Gonna be a good one to have in my collection ruclips.net/video/Rbv3DNRm_VY/видео.html
As a portuguese, I can say that we are really happy to have finally a new band that's is getting popular outside Portugal.
same
Same here!!

Iam german,i know them for years, a good reason to be proud, they are sich a good Band, love em.
But your cheery liquer is fine too😜🥰
I used to love Moonspell. They are from Portugal, aren't they ?
Probably the best Black Metal band right now. Gaerea is so good.
@Oliver Seiring can't read?
@Oliver Seiring keep wondering
@Oliver Seiring Be a hater all you want. Gaerea will keep growing whether you like it or not.
@Oliver Seiring What's wrong with the modem BM scene? You can't expect the music to stay the same forever. It gets boring after a while. I love what bands like Gaerea are doing. Nuff said.
@Oliver Seiring Don't stress it so much dude.
This band blew me away. Their musicianship is insane and their stage presence was ominous and disturbing. I loved it.
They are becoming iconic and I am loving every second of it. I’ve discovered them back in October, and been invested every since. P.S Hail Asmodeus!
What an introspective and deep interview about the core of what happens within this band. Can't wait for the next album and see them live next November, down here in South America!
Gaerea is hands down my favorite black metal band, love the singles that have come out so far for Mirage, glad you did an interview with them
Saw Gaerea at Wacken. Now it is one of my core memories. Great show!
I absolutely love this band. The way he articulates makes me really appreciate them so much more. If you like Gaerea, Check out Der Weg Einer Freiheit ~ they are also badass.
Masked hoodie black metal is becoming my favourite subgenre of black metal.
That was such a good interview. I've been loving Gearea for a few years now, & they just keep blowing my mind.
Black metal IS the best sub-genre of metal, hands down.
Not even close
@Oliver Seiring 🤘🤘
I mean Black metal is good. Don’t get me wrong. But I can name so many other sub genres before I’d put Black metal at number 1
U bet.
Just learned and herad them today! This is the essence of true Dark Black Metal! Thank you guys for doing what you do!
One of my fav black metal bands and I've been listen to black metal for 15 years
Great interview. I like the punk ethos of the band with the masks. It’s also a testament to them wanting their music to resonate with what might come off gimmicky to other bands.
Late to the scene, but what an incredible band :D amazing instruments and vocals, and the visuals are breathtaking. Hope they come to the U.S soon!
Very thoughtful. Thank you for the interview about the art. I hope they can make it to the US soon!
11OCT23 in Baltimore for me.

Masks are faster then makeup
Please tell me he didn’t say Libson 😂
Amazing band! Looking so forward to the new album 🤘🏻
Encyclopedia Metallum says they are from Porto.
@@Aqwafresh4855 Yeah, I know. And the capital of Portugal is Lisbon. Not Libson, as Frank called it
perhaps he made a mistake, that's all
Sadly, he did. How embarrassing.
Great interview and love to see these guys getting the attention they deserve. Started listening to them when they released Unsettling Whispers and have loved everything since!
Portuguese pride.
you need to see this band live
Amazing band!! Also the fact that their symbol is the Asmodeus sigil is absolutely awesome and badass.
Love this band.
Great Fucking band 🤘🏻🇵🇹
Great interview! interesting to see their approach to music.
Awesome video 👍🏻💀👍🏻👍🏻💀👍🏻🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🥁
My dream lineup right now: Gaerea, Groza and Weg einer Freiheit and I could die happy 😂
Gaerea and The Ominous Circle represent Portugal very well 🖤🔥
Fantastic band, loved this
What a fantastic interview.
Wonderful interview
Since I started listening to their music, I'm wondering about the meaning of the symbol on their "masks".
It's the seal of Asmodeus (or Asmodei). God help him, I hope he doesn't really understand what he is invoking, so that it won't work.
@@yannisch4741 Nice. Wtf? Nobody invokes anything :D

Siuuuuuu 🤘🇵🇹
Huge fan from the states \mm/
Dormant is my favorite video/song
Great band
I’d be great if they’d restock their fuckin merch so I can spend my money buying their stuff. Lol
Now im proud to say im portuguese.
Vamos caralhooo
Sempre tive orgulho desde os Moonspell

As Fenriz used to say: "People like to dress up I guess..."
Evil Sleep Token
Taporra, não sabia que eles eram vascaínos
👹👹👹👹👹👹👹👹
Hahaha! Another band wearing masks...how original.
Why are you people so pressed about them wearing masks?
@@M0joPin pressed?
@Cheryl they are?
Is it really that deep? They don't do it to conceal identities, the masks come off at the signing table and in other bands they are in.
Mgla clone
? Clean your ears, buddy.
Apparently you didn't watch the interview. If you did you'd realize that's not true.
Midnight, mgla, portal, have been doing it for years, why would you copy their image?
Mgla is a Svartidauði clone.
mgla on steroids i would say then. Their sound is different though.
9:25 LOUD!
