This is absolutely killer! I know from many years of modeling experience, including ruining many a built, how many things can go wrong ... your skills and patience are incredible! The p. e. bridge looks so realistic!
Great job Ben fantastic work and thanks for showing me the mindset for dealing with problems when they occur. Building these models is meant to be fun. Say hi to Nora🍻
Hey Ben great job doing this exacting stuff on camera! A lot of things covered for the bridge and some of the pitfalls to avoid or at least be aware of! Don't forget to paint the bridge storm shutters brown before you start adding the telegraphs and ships wheel etc! Also on Woody's set C I believe that Neil has included the telegraph boxing that fits under the bridge on deck A. Great detailed video, learnt a lot from your pain and efforts! Thanks. JH 😉
Hi Johnny, Ben’s client didn’t order the ibeam set for his build. However I supplied Ben a set for his own build. On sheet C I actually included 2 telegraph shrouds as spare. So there’s nothing stopping Ben from using one on each build.
a little tip that i found helpful is to save the little bits you would remove from the wood decks so that later if you need to cover a hole you dont need you can use the same material and it fits seamlessly
Hi Ben, that woody's bridge section really makes the whole model pop. I'm building this kit as well and the additions to buy for this model from different suppliers are outstanding and depending on your budget you could spend a absolute fortune ,but as you have just shown the end result is outstanding. Many thanks .
I kept waiting for you to go into integral calculus and 6th degree polynomials when you talked about the curve in front of the bridge. 😆 Tell me you’re an engineer without telling me you’re an engineer, says another engineer. Love your stuff! Great job! Watching it all while building my first timber model (not the Titanic) as a tribute for my long gone Dad. Wish I’d discovered you sooner and Dora is the Bomb! 👍🏼 My SWMBO would never. 😆
Thank you very much for such a great video Ben . No your sinus infection has not affected the quality although I do wish you well on your recovery from it. I have all or have on order of Neil's products for this build. They are amazing.
Love all videos! Thanks. Well then, now i have to buy me a Olymp.. Oh.. Titanic model again, this sice is perfect, not to big to have it in the livingroom, and not to smal for the tiney details. Thanks again for every tips and tricks. Best regards from Northland, Sweden.
I'm probably crazy here but the details you are putting into this might only be appreciated by a handful of Titanic fanatics. Would building one of these really expensive kits not look really good after all was said and done and also get the admiration of a vast majority of model builders? I'd love to have one of these but I don't play professional football so I couldn't afford to have you build one of these for me. What you are doing is truly remarkable.
Hey Ben! thanks for filming this 2 Titanics builds. Really enjoying watching it. Fantastic work for sure. I've noticed something about PE part you glued at 28:30. This is outside part that is backside of the bridge, but it has texture vary similar to what it usually is from inside. My best guess that prolly it should go inside of a bridge with texture visible through windows? idk :)
OK, the FB picture was simply awesome. I had NO clue that it took that much work. Really well done despite the odd curves. I truly did not realize that the bridge was open. Yeah, the films indicate that, but it didn't really "sink" in until now. I continue to be impressed with your work. I started watching with your Missouri build, and have gone back to watch snippets of other builds, and am following this one. Stunning. I see comments on some FB and YT pages along the lines of, "I could never do work like that." Truly, all it takes is practice, making mistakes, learning from them, and "pressing on". Clearly you've done the work and earned praise you get here. But, as a note to others, your work is this good because you try, learn, and do. That's what it takes. Did that make sense?
Totally! And thank you! My rule for every model build, since I was little is: pick one thing about this build that I want to master. The rest of the build can just be built per the instructions and enjoyed. But try to master or really nail one part of this build. Then on the next build, pick something else to master.
Today is the 110th anniversary of the Titanic sinking. One survivor interviewed was Eva Hart, who lost her father in the sinking when she was only 7 years old.
Beautiful build. Can you please tell me what those little triangle things are for they are just below the top deck windows and they run almost the entire length of the ship would be so helpful to no I have searched the Internet to no avail thank you for your help
Those are coal outriggers. They swing out and a Lilly is on the end. They are used to haul buckets of coal up to the top of the coal locker doors on the side of the ship where they dump it in.
Might of already been asked but I am a newb to this scale of modelling! I'm in the UK and wanting CA Glue. Does it come with an activator or is CS Glue a stand alone thing? I'm used to tamiya so sorry for the simpleton question. On the other foot, I ordered the mini brass stern plating today! 🙂
Ben why is it that one supplier cannot offer all of the options, instead of relying on the hope that various parts from different suppliers are going to fit together - plus the fact of the enormous costs involved just to make a realistic model
It boils down to cost and time. Woodys Model Works has spent the same amount of time developing their sets as Minibrass has spent getting their parts up and running. China 3D prints has been diligently creating parts for the last 2 years. If we were waiting on just one of these providers to develop everything, we would still be waiting. To make it happen faster, you need more people. That costs money. It just gets complicated really fast. With the one common factor being Trumpeter’s kit… everyone usually gets it pretty close. In fact, if you don’t use the PE hull sides from MiniBrass, everything fits the stock kit just fine.
Might be a silly question, but when filling the openings in the deck (8:40) can you use scrap from the scaledecks sheets? or is it easier/better to just use strip stock and paint.
You can totally use the scale decks strip. I think the difference is how do you want to spend your time? Mixing a matching color (which I have down and can do quickly) or cutting a very small piece of wood? Which ever is easier for the builder is the way to go, I think. Because both options work.
Hi Could I ask you a question please its about your hatches the bottom halves what color is that it looks like a kind of orange/pink can I buy this paint in the UK Also do not know if this is any use to you www.titanic-cad-plans.com/color-guide/ and this www.encyclopedia-titanica.org/ Happy Easter from me in the UK Regards Eric

Your client will be a very lucky person to receive this finished in all it's glory. I'm envious.
I can't wait to see all the little details in the "conning room". I think that term applies to that part of the ship.
Great work as always.
The technique gets an A+, the sarcasm about 9 flat screen TVs gets an A+++
Man, your videos are the best on youtube. Thanks.
Brilliant video as usual for me as a titanic builder one of the worldsbest you tube resources

Excellent video Ben, your explanation is right on as is your workmanship.
As someone who struggles to use PE in 1/24 I’m extremely impressed with your skill.
For that part at 10:10, you could add the oval builders' plaque at the middle of the B-deck wall.
Loving all the fine detail going into this build Ben.
Thanks for sharing more of the instructional side of things, I learn so much from you.
Superb video again Ben. This is my go to build website for the Trumpeter Titanic, especially as I have all the PE kits you have been using.

Great job as always Ben. All you need is more slide wisel.
Kind of fun seeing you struggle!! Lol turned out fantastic bud! NEXT........
Well done Ben I love your patience and the model looks super

another brilliant video. These are the highlight of my week!
Would love to see Lusitania in that Scale
Great video, thanks. Love those aircraft prints you’ve got on the wall as well 👍🏻
Nice work. Think about building this ship back in 1910 for real. Real craftsmanship at Harland and Wolfe.
Just stumbled across this video and I am invested! Really enjoy how you film your videos. Super entertaining and relaxing!
Can’t believe this model is actually big enough to have the bridge telegraphs, compass, and wheel visible.
Congratulations watching you build this this model to this level of detail is fantastic
you are an amazing builder
Great build..so tricky...you did a wonderful job ;)
Great video
Fantastique travail !! congratulations ...
Nice work mate
Another winner! Along with the 9 flat screen TV’s on the bridge they must have had shipboard Wi-Fi. 😂
I’ll install the wifi later 😉 It goes in that little room behind the bridge!

It's called the engine order telegraph, at least in the US. The guy operating it is called the lee helm.

CA glue does not require activator. Cyanoacrylate glue is sometimes referred to as “super glue”.
Can someone explain to me what the difference is between CA glue and super glue, if any and what's the best to use glueing PE to plastic
What is the definition of the much-used US English word 'auhm' and where is the correct place for it to appear within a sentence? Asking for a friend.

How much would it cost for you to build a Trumpeter Titanic for me? I
don't have the patience/time/space to build a model like that
ben when I start painting the titanic kit I have 1/200 do I need to prime every thing
Priming first is always best. But you don’t “have” to as long as you clean the parts first and you’re using enamel paint.
She is the rod hai
i can't to see the funnels and the glass dome being put on the ship
Me too!
You forgot the side wall on the bridge
Not there yet.
I can't find this size Titanic. I got a 1/350 MiniCraft Titanic, but it's no where this big.
It’s 1/200 scale and they have it at MegaHobby.con
Satellite TVs! 🤣🤣
unfortunately your upgrade is rather different to mine - those bridge "steps" are ANOTHER mare , but this is informative none the less 👍
I guess you’ll need to be more specific about “your” upgrades…

@@TheMidwestModelShop yes I mean after they are finished
Yes, if a reasonable offer is made. If it is for the Titanic I’ll have to see what the Wife says. She wanted me to build Titanic

Would you be kind to tell what is the red color code/name or exact paint you used for bottom walls and elements in decks B/C?
Tamiya flat white sprayed first. Then a light coat of Model Master Flesh.
