    I don’t endorse the Chosen series due to its many errors. However, all the clips used on this video are for illustrative purposes.

    How can God give a person strength to forgive when badly hurt and other person does not show any remorse

    • @living_orthodox
      @living_orthodox  7 месяцев назад +4

      Your ability to forgive cannot be conditional. This is why the command to love even our enemies is so great. We may detest their actions, but we must be careful to avoid the Protestant idea of “God giving strength”. God doesn’t just suddenly zap you with strength. There’s no virtue in that. We must participate willingly in the life of Christ and this means forgiving our enemies. God gives you the opportunity to have the strength to do so. The how is leaning on what He has commanded and knowing that when we forgive, regardless of the condition, that God is the one who ultimately will “balance the books.”
      God gives you the opportunity to exercise that strength and with that, the strength to do so increases. Struggle and toil to fulfill His command and He will give you rest.

    I feel that i dont struggle to want to forgive and think i have but have found that I have trouble if the person doesn't even understand that they did something offensive or acknowledge that have done it. It would be easier if they acknowledge it so it does not keep happening in the future. What advice do you have if the offences keep happening but then get judged by everyone else for not participating in family events because the offences keep happening

      Forgive him. Condemn the actions but forgive him. He lives rent free in your head otherwise.
