Some of these lyrics REALLY hit home!!! My ex and my kids stepfather are both alienating me from my kids....Courts don't care...CPS actually told me "there's no law against being a lousy parent". SUCH HORSESH*T!!!! There's nothing sadder than a mom who hates dad more than she loves her own children, and, a spouse and Attorney that actually support parental alienation. Keep Fighting For Your Kids!!!
I'm a woman and it disgusts me when other women use their children as pawns against men..Fathers have rights also!! Plus just because a woman gives birth doesn't make her a mommy..I love this song and support him and understand his frustration..I also love his song The Wish List..
I can't even explain the epic impact this song has had. So raw and powerful and true and daring and honest.....pain and hate and love and anger. AMAZING
It's all about who has the money. Not about love. Not about sanity. Narcissistic judges aiding narcissistic pieces of $#!? represented by greedy attorneys representing the best interest of their pockets. God bless the USA.
I now work in the court system so I took my social services knowledge applied it here & I don't envy anyone in this boat its ugly-bottom line & kids are the ones who suffer - so just no matter what - think of your kids & the ultimate result is all I can say on a limited forum... God Bless all of You, Your Families, & Blue October - you got me where I am today, thank you! & god bless!
I just love this song so much cause the same thing happened to my dad and I didnt get to see him in forever... but now I get to see him every other weekend so I good now :)
i am a single father of 4 and you have no clue the impact this man and his music has had on my life! my kids mom left over 4 yrs ago, just went to work and never came home! females suck...alll of them! all i need in this life are my babies...thank you jf...i love you bro, u r my inspiration an my strength!
“I’m not proud of that, I’m not proud of “fuck the judge, fuck the county” I’m not proud of that. I’m embarrassed that I wrote that. I lost my fucking mind trying to see my daughter.” I love Justin.
He's talking about his personal experience. That's the problem with feminist right there, they think everyone is against then, they claim they want equality when they really want superiority. There are men who beat their wives, but there are also wives who beat their husbands. The difference is that when a wife retaliates against abuse, everyone sees the man as "having it coming", but when a husband retaliates against abuse whether it be a simple push to get away, he's seen AS the abuser.
Not a huge fan of rap.. but that segment near the end? Wow.. I could look her in the eye, recite it word for word and put her in her place without a word of it being a lie.. fuck this system. The caseworkers. The judges. The lawyers. All of them. They don't care how many kids they throw under a bus. Their pay must come from commissions for every tear a child cries due to their collective narcissism and ignorance. I don't know how they can ruin lives all day and get any sleep at night. Do the research. Ask the questions. Get the facts. A child is a priceless gift. They are all born with a future. Potential. Hope. Dreams. The system is throwing them in the dumpster and running to the bank to cash the paycheck.

Heard this song first time last year at House of Blues-New Orleans. Damn, hit me hard. I'm just one of many men in America too, with 3 boys. Same freekin story bro. Nothin but sux. I feel BAD for u man. No matter how innocent you are, guys have no rights. Have so many friends with the same story. So sick of the games, plays for more money, nothing really goin to the kids. Something has to change. Whatever needs to happen, I'm in.
Blue October Video of the new song "Any Man In America" from the album "Any Man In America" by Blue October at the House of Blues in Dallas TX. The rapper in this song is named Ray C from San Antonio.Aug 20, 2011
Guys, how am I just finding this entire album? Been a fan since Foiled and I have no idea how I missed this album. I'm embarrassed but I'm also mashing that replay button.
America's corrpt legal system allows and enables the same to be done to good Mothers and Grandparents. This should be titled for Every Person in America Who Loves a Child.
i flippin love this song...i do alot of the same things as far as my music is concerned...my anger and everything else goes to my music...keep rockin justin!!!!!!!!!!! luv ya!
i went thru that shit from 99 till 2008 there were 4 divorces filed 3 by her and the last by me in o8 my baby was 13 it started out my daughter was with the x my daughter spent christmas break with me in 08 and never went back to her mom now my baby is 16 she is still with me now she knows what a pos her mom is i never said a word
I hope at some point Justin and the band get Eminem to come into the studio and re-record this song with them. They reference him so many times and I feel llike there is so much he could do with the verse. I know with a new album out already its pretty much wishful thinking at this point but I really want to hear it.
why does it take so much for a father to have full custody of a child? wtf is wrong with the justice system.... they think that a father cant love the child as much as the mother but sometimes the mother dont give two shits but hell the courts are all for ruining a childs life.
mellow..intriguing...very true emblems of the most vivid and involved dudes in music.not god, or god, or wow, and oh no, plus also...all of these and lots of those.
🙏😥😥😥😥😥😥😥😇✌💫🌹🙏 Good woman still exist......not out for money. Fathers have rights too- the children should be put in their parents mess or used as leverage. Watch Mrs. Doubtfire. My heart breaks for the kids.
This song reminds me of my dad so much. Had a horrible first wife whom he ended up remarrying after his and my ma's divorce. She used him, took everything from him. He was always on the road working for us, saving up money for us. She took it all and spent it for herself. I would watch her cheat on my dad while he worked and it fucking broke me. She would hit him, scream at him, use me and my sister against him. She would do the same to my mom, tried to get custody of us. Thankfully she finally divorced him. On his death bed, she tried to come back and I wouldn't fucking have it. He had nothing, he cried saying he was sorry he had nothing to give me. She ruined his life. I love and miss my dad so much, he didn't deserve what he got.
sounds like my x to me she used the kids to keep me around that was 4 years ago my daughter was 12 she wanted to live with daddy she is 16 now still with me she knows who the better parent is its rough but worth it her mom hasnt seen her since christmas
right there with ya. I know this isn't the place to talk about other bands, but this comment made me think of my two favorite "I'm the daughter of a man who just doesn't give a shit" songs: "Styrofoam Plates" by Death Cab for Cutie, and "Lovechild" by the Supremes. Hang in there

Nah dude, you're right on in that line of thought. This song and "The End" by Blue October are *so* Eminem influenced (well, probably not influenced, but similar to).
justin, i completely understand where ur comin from but in my case i'm the one that has to live without my kids and i do pay child support for them both. bcuz of my bipolar/personality disorder, i have to suffer without them. i see them when i can but it is never the same as livin with them everyday

Sounds like how my mom used to be tbh, although women aren’t typically narcissistic she use to ask to see me for my dads money :)
I can listen a million times… and my heart still rides with his melody. So fuckn talented.

Encase anyone didn't know, the beginning of this song is actually aimed at Eminem, as Justin has said he really likes Eminem, how ironic lol :)
It's quite obvious.
I actually didn't know this, that's pretty deadly.....

@jaketrentsjaketrents wondering this myself
you're right though
What is she saying at the beginning
To all the single dads that got screwed over in the name of child support and custody. We women can be treacherous!
This is an anthem for men.
i thought that too when that guy said something to rodney king, maybe.
I thought that to especially when he said mocking bird left a dent in him.
He was referencing Eminem's mockingbird
I feel like most of this song relates to Eminem...
Then again...
...I'm pretty high.
Any man in america can get screwed just like me!!!!!!!!!
. . . just like me . . .
10 years later and we are still having to fight to be a Dad. Well I am going to be the best Dad I can be until they try and take it from me. The legal system is so broken and greedy.
My mom isn't even a u.s. citizen. Shes from Juarez and she stole me from my dad. Once they found us and took her to court the judge ruled in her favor
Yeah he was talking about looking up to eminem for being able to talk about that stuff in his music
airyone been askin bout that
2:44 - 3:00

Money isnt worth it, your kids are worth more than any money in the world. Be happy and stop about the money
and when he talking about the rapper in invisible ink that's whiter than him
I'm pretty sure he's talking about Eminem, but I guess you can't be a hundred percent sure

however, I'm human - I've worked in social services so I know how both sides of the coin work -
It would be so much simpler if the children chose
nicholas dean true but pretend you're in the shoes of the parent the kid didn't choose. Wouldn't wish that pain on my worst enemy.
yeah not like d 12..candy coated flip flop something with rims...word
fun chunk of change if you say so? oh and oops,
He said he no longer plays this song in shows because he was deep in his addiction and the song is disrespectful & selfish
Stop whining she wants a real man
