Overview of how I acomplish this remoting into my home station from my Samsung mobile phone. The inspriration for this video - • Beginners Guide to Ham...
I started using a k3 mini with the rrc twins. No latency and it’s fun to have a rig head at the site. Kat500 and kpa 500 remote as well via download software.
Very interesting. I can see how this could be useful for some people in certain situations. My concern with using a phone headset like this is that there's a potential for causing confusion by transmitting with poor intelligibility.
Well thats different colin. My radio or phone will not do any of that, there too old, but i prefer just using the rig itself, and personally keeping well away from contests, hi. Qrm and bad manners everywhere, and ruin my skeds. 20m great into the uk now just after greyline here. Good luck and 73.
I agree Brian. I love the radio and not one of these SDR things. This for a wee go when working away will be fine tho. Better than nothing. Agree on contests too but they have their uses at times.
@@MM0OPXFieldRadio I think I tried everything that’s on the market (Icom software, SDR Control and setups using a raspi) and I could not get it to work properly. At least not remotely over the internet, using a key as an input and with an acceptable latency/jitter. Using a keyboard as the input does work quite well. Anyway thanks for the vid and please let me know in case you find a reliable solution
Excellent. I use to use pocket rxtx. A lot quicker to run it seems plus there's also many other peogs to try totally free
Yep, amazing what can be done for feee.
Superb, thank you!

Unfortunately this is only working for SSB and not for CW…
Surely you can hook up a USB peripheral to your computer to support CW. Might just be really really slow (unless you setup hotkeys)
It can work with CW but not with sonobus. I would prefer CW actually.
