How do you use the US maps that come in a pad of 50? I see where you have students write the name of the capital next to the name of the state and vice versa. Do you also have them write the state and capital within each state? Thank you for your help.

      Hey Antoinette,
      Great question!
You can use it a few different ways, depending on what you need to practice. On one side you can practice writing the capital next to its state or the state next to its capital, and then label the map with the corresponding number. On this side the map is also broken down into regions so you can focus on a specific area if you'd like, or practice the regions you've learned so far. On the other side you can practice labeling on the blank map itself, choosing to write the state or the capital (or both!). This side is a bit more difficult as you don't get any hints!

I bought the Third Grade curriculum guide. Is the Third curriculum guide set up for a 2 year study?

The Third Grade Curriculum Manual schedules the first half of Latina Christiana, English Grammar Recitation I, D'Aulaires' Greek Myths, Christian Studies I, and States & Capitals. The Fourth Grade Curriculum Manual will schedule the second half! All other subjects are completed at a one year pace. Let us know how else we can help!
