Love Pergolesi! It's all cliches but he weaves them together so beautifully.

A true world premiere on RUclips. Pergolesi's most famous cantata with subtitles on RUclips. Giuseppe Sigismondo, who wrote a big book only recently published (2016) about the rise of music to divine status (apotheosis) in the Neapolitan settecento and knew more than everyone else about this tradition as a librarian at Majella about the Neapolitan tradition, wrote that Pergolesi never wrote a note without reflecting the meaning of the words. It is 50% of his genius. Bach or Mozart could not do this, no way. So listen to this, carefully absorb the meaning of every word, and see how the musical phrasing compares. Believe me, this is better than sex. S. is generally overestimated anyhow. This opportunity to follow the wording of Pergolesi's musical developments is an earthshattering development on RUclips in the revolutionary new appreciation of the most sensitive (and best) composer of all time. We cannot have enough of this. Stay tuned. Feel free to crush your smart phone under your feet and blow your television to bits with an AK 47. Listening to Pergolesi: So much more satisfying. A big book about the rise of music to divine status (apotheosis)? Hmmmm... So the big book talks only about _non plus ultra_ Rosenmüller's music, then! 😜
