    Thanks, Ross. I'm new and appreciate this trader rehab video. I recently took a different path. I turned my apparent day trade loss into a swing trade and held 2 trades overnight with limit orders. I took time off trading. The one trade sold at target profit 12 days later. I still hold the 2nd and it is still floundering. I'm told Warren Buffet said, "The stock market is the place where the impatient pay money to the patient." Well, right now I'm being patient. Of course I've made (lost) no money in the interim. I'm not committed to full-time day trading at this time, partially being not secure enough with my finances. Your channel is inspiring and informative.

    You're not alone with the FOMO on LUNR. I am in a bit of trader rehab right now and I was really teased by LUNR but I stayed out and turned off my trader platform at 830 PST as planned. Missed a lot with it but could have been a big loss. Like you said, it is so easy to go "but this is really good, so I will follow my plan tomorrow. Make an exception. Then tomorrow, make another exception. And so forth. Thanks for the good summary and reminder that while I missed out on it today I followed my stop plan up $2500. That is a great day!

    I think you're going about it exactly right. If you had 5 green days last week, you would've been in Lunr today.
    The next time you are on a green streak, something else will be out there.
    I love to psycho-analyze probabilities, when it comes to trading. I think doing that, takes out a lot of the uneasiness, once you have gotten a decent amount of time in, to look back on.
    Based on your career to date, it's extremely unlikely that you will break your losing streak record - because of how successful you are at making adjustments when they need to be made.
    Even if you have a red month, the likelihood that you'll have 2 or 3 red months in a row is probably close to zero.
    Soon enough, the rough patch will be comfortably in the past, and it is possible (and maybe likely), that you are already past it.
    With the above said - sidenote reminder: how many years have you been trading during a worldwide epidemic, immediately followed by massive inflation, immediately followed by threats by multiple countries launching nuclear weapons?
    Times are constantly changing, and you're an excellent constant adapter.

    Always love your honesty. Thank you for that. I also put myself in a trader rehab. Three green days in a row, but not much green. However, green is better than red. I didn't even hold a winner long enough today, but I am still happy having made a dent on my losses.

      What made you decide to take a step back if you're green?

    • @troyh2706
      @troyh2706 Год назад

      @@user-elias123 I am sorry for the confusion. Here is the clarification. I was red for about a week and a half. Obviously, I was doing something wrong. So, I put myself in trader rehab. I re-evaluated my journal, and what I did. I discovered I had gotten a little over confident in my abilities from successive green days. I discovered that I stopped respecting my equity risk, I was over trading, and even "revenge" trading, just generally not making good decisions.
      So, in my trader rehab, I lowered my share size; respected my equity risk; gave my trades time to "breathe", but took the base hits; yes, leaving money on the table, and was successful in the short week we had. This week, I learned two more lessons in the market. I did well on my first trade yesterday, but again was overconfident (due to the previous good week I had), and gave half of my profits back. And, today, I gave the rest back. So, I am even for the week. need to adjust again. Hope this helps clarify that I did not step back while green.

    • @user-elias123
      @user-elias123 Год назад

      @@troyh2706 yes now I understood, thanks for sharing! Feel you, especially when it comes to revenge trading.
      When you say you've been overconfident this week, do you mean you take relatively oversized positions or you neglect mental stop losses that you set before entering a trade?
      My big challenge has been revenge trading - taking trades I shouldn't be in with too much size.

    • @troyh2706
      @troyh2706 Год назад +1

      @@user-elias123 Prior to my trader rehab, I had success and my overconfidence had me "imagining" a good set up; thinking I was invincible. LOL. That gambling of course did not work in my favor. And, then, since I hate losing, I found myself yes, lowering my mental stop. I even went so far as to buy more (in a long position), to lower my avg price; still losing mind you. How stupid is that??!! And yes, revenge trading, with the same imagined set up that was not really there. Then I had this bright idea that I could swing trade. I have never been green on a single swing trade; because I do not know what I am doing, or what to look for. Yes, I paid some "tuition", but learned a lot from my failures. In current rehab, I am averaging about 3.5% profit per day on the equity I utilize. On Tuesday, I gave back my Monday gains and then some unfortunately. The market was weak for me, and I tried to make something happen. I need to remember that it is okay to not trade if my set up is not there. I just love this so much. However, today was a good day for me, so back to green for the week thus far. Actually looking forward to "Freefall" Friday.

    Hey Ross, can you help me understand something? So, I found a stock yesterday that had a conference call. I listened to it, it was amazing news. They increased profit all around and had projects coming up which would increase their earnings over the next 5 years or something. There were a bunch of people who bought in during the call, I was one of them. The call lasted 30 minutes, but the second we moved a few cents people started selling and the price went below open. Who in their right mind sells on hearing good news about the company? I don't understand why this happens so much.

One day in this year I came in late n seen it breaking 100 lvls. Absolutely devastating. I do not mind missing out on a runner. I absolutely hate that I missed one I had already setup for the last week ready to go!! Unbelievable. Made 120$ but absolutely should have been easily several K in 5 figures. So that's the result and reason for frustration. Guess I should be happy being green I know. But that absolutely blows!!! Ross, I don’t follow why you’re concerned about spreads or $6 drop on a $40 stock. That’s the same as a $0.6 drop on a $4 stock, just need to use 1/10th the share size. Any other reason?

      I don't think he means a 6 percent drop. I think he means a 6 dollar drop, which is a 15 percent drop.

      Yeah sorry $6 drop on $40 is the same relatively as $0.6 on $4.
